Global Game: AFK In The Zombie Apocalypse Game

Chapter 2715 Believe

Chapter 2715  Believe

Fang Heng noticed that Renee's expression seemed a bit off, and he couldn't help but furrow his brows, asking, "What's wrong? Is something not right?"

Renee snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head, "No, there's nothing wrong. This is our family crest. It still bears our family's spiritual imprint. Outsiders can't imitate it."

"Good, let's go! Carl, retreat."

"Understood!"

The vampires in the sky began returning.

Fang Heng didn't think too much about it and immediately ordered the vampires to return to the Zombie Apocalypse. He also once again controlled the Bone Dragon beneath him, flying upwards toward the sky.

The mission difficulty wasn't high, and completing it within two hours was well within expectations.

He just needed to submit the crest, and then move on to the next step of asking the King of the Vanni Empire about the potential cooperation.

Renee stood behind Fang Heng, watching his back.

The strength of humans wasn't as weak as the Dark Clan had claimed.

Still, even so, humans didn't seem confident they could resist the invasion of the disaster.

Could it be that, as Fang Heng said, the death realm was truly on the brink of its end?

....

Vanni Empire camp.

King Gerhardt, as usual, stayed in the camp. Upon seeing Fang Heng and Renee return, he shook his head, "Did you run into trouble?"

"No, we've already found it."

Renee said, pulling the family inheritance emblem from her pocket and tossing it towards Gerhardt.

"Huh?"

This time, it was Gerhardt's turn to be surprised.

It had only been two hours, and they had already completed the mission so easily?

Gerhardt caught the emblem that had been tossed in midair. He checked it repeatedly in his hands. The surprise in his eyes gradually turned into relief. He then tossed the emblem back to Renee.

"Take it with you."

Renee looked at Gerhardt, not quite understanding what he meant.

"Renee, you're more suited to be the King of the Vanni Empire than I am," Gerhardt shook his head with a bitter smile, mocking himself. "As for me? I'm a failure, someone who would accidentally lose even the family inheritance emblem. The Empire will eventually crumble under my leadership. I just never expected this day to come so soon."

"And you, Renee, from a young age, you've had talent. I believe the Empire will flourish under your leadership."

Renee frowned and said, "Gerhardt, you..."

"No need to say more," Gerhardt interrupted. "I no longer have the courage to continue leading the Empire. Only you can do it, Renee. Consider this my request—to preserve the family Empire's legacy, help me."

[Hint: The player has completed the mission. The player has participated in completing a special mission - the transition of leadership in the Vanni Empire. The player's friendship with Renee and Gerhardt has greatly increased, and the player's friendship with the Vanni Empire has also greatly increased.]

[Hint: The Vanni Empire's leadership has been transferred from the original leader, Gerhardt, to Renee. The Vanni Empire is currently in a state of partial turmoil.]

Fang Heng stood by, watching their conversation. He had been waiting for the next mission trigger but was now a bit confused by what was going on.

What does this mean?

You two just handed over leadership?

Upon further thought...

This was actually a great thing!

He had built up a lot of favorability with Renee during this time.

Convincing Renee to cooperate would be much easier than persuading Gerhardt!

Fang Heng turned his gaze to Renee.

Renee, however, was still looking at Gerhardt with a solemn expression, her eyes showing resolve, "I will carry on the family's honor, Gerhardt, but I don't want to be the King. During this time, I will act as the King and hold the powers of leadership, but I will wait for the day you regain your confidence."

"Go ahead."

Gerhardt didn't want to argue anymore, and with a languid wave of his hand, dismissed her.

Seeing this, Fang Heng followed Renee as they left the camp.

Outside, the Empire's soldiers had already heard the news and knelt in unison before Renee.

"Long live the King!"

"Rise."

Renee gestured for them to stand, forcing herself to muster strength.

Renee had to deal with the mess left behind by Gerhardt.

"Please summon the Grand Mage, the Priest, and the senior military officers to my tent. We need to have an internal meeting."

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

The chief guard cupped his hands and immediately left to make arrangements.

Fang Heng followed Renee, carefully pondering for a moment before asking, "Renee, um, no, Your Majesty, what do you think of my earlier proposal?"

"Fang Heng, give me a little more time. I need to understand the current situation of the Empire before I can give you a definite answer," Renee replied.

"Of course."

Fang Heng nodded, watching as Renee gathered everyone to the camp.

As a human, he couldn't participate in the discussions of the Dark Clan, so he waited patiently.

After a while, a Dark Clan soldier summoned Fang Heng to the tent again.

He entered and saw Renee seated behind the commander's desk, furrowing her brow as she stared at a map of the terrain. She seemed troubled as if the meeting had not gone well.

Fang Heng looked around at the people gathered.

A few high-ranking Empire officials stood on either side, their eyes all focused on him, many of them clearly unfriendly.

The loyal soldiers of the Empire were eager to know what kind of spell Fang Heng had cast on Commander Renee to make her say something as absurd as evacuating the death realm.

The Vanni Empire had been in turmoil recently.

First, they encountered the demoralized Gerhardt, and they had hoped that replacing him with the battle-hardened Renee would bring about a change. However, to their surprise, Renee turned out to be another love-struck fool, swayed by the human's manipulations.

Fang Heng stood in the middle of the tent, gazing at Renee, "How did it go?"

Renee, deep in thought, was interrupted and looked up to meet Fang Heng's eyes. Her expression softened a little, and she said, "Fang Heng, I need you to tell me honestly, what do humans think our chances of defeating the Disaster are? Don't hide anything."

"Based on our current strengths, unless something changes, I can't see a chance for victory in the death realm," Fang Heng replied with a sigh.

The truth was, they were simply too weak.

Who would want to give up on the death realm if there was still a chance? Wouldn't completing missions here as the Underworld Lord be easier?

But they were left with no choice but to escape.

Especially after encountering that terrifying being in the Nether River—no matter how much power he used, including his most powerful move, the Everlasting Moon, it wasn't enough to defeat it. The creature's vitality was terrifying.

Renee was silent for a moment, looking around the room at the high-ranking officials, and then nodded. "Those standing here are the high-ranking members of our clan and the Empire. We just discussed your proposal, and they don't trust a human. They are unwilling to give up the fight against the Disaster, and they certainly don't want to leave behind our homeland, where we survive."

"But..." Renee's tone shifted as she continued, "I am willing to trust you."

Fang Heng's eyes brightened.

"I won't force everyone to leave with you," she said. "I will issue a statement, suggesting that Vanni Empire's people join you in the new world. I believe some will be willing to follow."
