Genshin x Minecraft: Building the Temple of Virtue

Chapter 81: 81: Liyue Miners Settle In, and Ningguang’s Gift!

Morning in Liyue Harbor was already tinged with the hum of activity.

But then again, Liyue Harbor had been bustling for thousands of years, day in and day out.

For the people of Liyue, this was just another unremarkable day among countless others.

Yet, for the fifty miners and ten Millelith soldiers standing outside Ryen's courtyard on Mt. Tianheng—

This day would mark the beginning of their worldview crumbling apart.

This particular squad of elite Millelith had been transferred from The Chasm.

These miners had also been summoned from deep beneath The Chasm's caverns.

They had all gathered outside Ryen's courtyard, an area of five kilometers around them concealed by Cloud Retainer's adeptal arts.

All of them were at a loss as they stared at the figures before them—beings they had never dared to imagine meeting, let alone standing this close to.

Tianquan Ningguang. Yuheng Keqing. The secretary of the Qixing, Ganyu. Cloud Retainer. The Conqueror of Demons.

These were figures that would rarely—if ever—be seen together.

Even a single glimpse of someone like Ningguang or Ganyu was a rare event in their lifetime.

As for the Adepti…

One only had to recall how many people turned back in defeat every year on the path to Jueyun Karst to understand how difficult it was to meet an Adeptus.

And then, there were the remaining three—Ryen, Zhongli, and Hu Tao.

Even if they knew Hu Tao and Zhongli belonged to the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, the miners and Millelith had started wondering… Could they actually be Adepti in disguise?

Ryen glanced at Ningguang, who met his gaze with a nod.

Without saying much, Ryen snapped his fingers.

Starlight converged.

The Dimensional Rift Gate slowly began to manifest once more.

A gasp rippled through the gathered crowd—voices suppressed in shock at this miraculous sight.

"I know you all have many questions," Ningguang stepped forward, smiling as she addressed them.

"Why have you been summoned from The Chasm? Why are you gathered here? Why have you been asked to mentally prepare for the possibility that you won't return to Liyue for a while?"

"But… very soon, you'll realize—these questions won't even matter."

"Because from this moment onward, you will be part of Liyue's greatest endeavor!"

"Interdimensional Development!"

The words were barely spoken when the miners and Millelith visibly trembled in unison.

Then, all at once, their gazes burned with anticipation.

Ningguang's lips curled into a smile as she continued with elegance and composure:

"Liyue, in collaboration with our most esteemed ally, Ryen, has reached an agreement—we will assist him in developing a world under his control.

And in return, Liyue shall gain access to that world's resources and technology."

"You are Liyue's finest miners and Millelith. You understand what this means—I need not explain further."

Ningguang had always been a master of persuasion.

With just a few nonchalant words, she had ignited the flames of excitement in these men's hearts.

Their faces flushed red with passion.

Their backs straightened—each one exuding an unshakable resolve, ready to dedicate themselves to Liyue's advancement.

Seeing that their emotions had been sufficiently stoked, Ningguang did not waste any more words. In a soft yet firm voice, she continued:

"Soon, you will follow us into that world for preliminary exploration. After that, you will become the vanguard for its expansion."

"But I must remind you—this world is mysterious and unlike anything in Teyvat."

"Your understanding of common sense, of the laws of nature, may not apply there at all."

"For this, the Conqueror of Demons, Xiao, and Wangsheng's esteemed consultant, Mr. Zhongli, will serve as your guides."

"They will help you adapt to this foreign realm as quickly as possible and lead you in establishing Liyue's foothold there."

"Liyue has only two requirements for you."

Ningguang paused for a moment, her gaze sweeping across their faces before continuing in a calm yet commanding tone:

"First—prioritize your own safety while gathering resources as swiftly as possible."

"Second—until Liyue and Ryen formally announce this alliance, not a single word of this must escape your lips.

Even in your sleep, even in your dreams—you must never utter a word."

"I trust you will abide by this—because you are Liyue's finest."

The moment Ningguang finished speaking—

THUD!

The Millelith stomped their feet in unison, their faces flushed with intensity as their voices rang out like thunder:

"Solid as stone, unshaken by the tides!"

"Our armor steadfast, our blades to guard Liyue!"

Ten men shouted—yet the sheer force of their voices made it feel as if a hundred had spoken.

As for the fifty miners, their faces were filled with newfound purpose. They straightened their backs, standing at attention just like the Millelith.

At that moment—

The Dimensional Rift Gate fully materialized.

Off to the side, Keqing smiled as she leaned toward Ryen, her tone tinged with unmistakable pride:

"Well? What do you think? Liyue's Millelith and miners—pretty exceptional, aren't they?"

Ryen shrugged with a chuckle.

"I never denied it," he said, amused. "If I had, I wouldn't have chosen to work with you."

With that, Ryen waved a hand and called out:

"Come on in. There's plenty to do today—we don't have time to waste."

With Ryen stepping in first, the others followed one by one, entering the Dimensional Rift Gate.

When it was Hu Tao's turn, her curiosity got the better of her. She reached out, poking at the gate's shimmering edges.

Realizing she couldn't physically touch it, she quickly lost interest. With her hands clasped behind her back, she hopped inside with a carefree bounce.

Xiao, meanwhile, silently watched as the Millelith and miners methodically filed in. Once the last of them had entered, he, too, stepped forward and disappeared through the gate.

The Dimensional Rift Gate slowly closed behind them.

And in its wake—

Only an empty courtyard remained.

…Or so it seemed.

Hidden in the shadows, elite Millelith forces lay in wait—

Alongside an Adeptus silently watching over the place.

Floating clouds, a brilliant sun.

Sky islands, a grand estate.

After a single night, Ryen returned once more to the Minecraft world.

Everything here remained unchanged—at least, within the manor's premises.

As for the monster farm atop the sky island? Ryen had yet to check on it.

One thing was for certain: the iron farm wouldn't be producing anything for now.

The elite Millelith soldiers and the miners stood in stunned silence, gazing in all directions at their new surroundings, uncertainty flickering in their eyes.

A world entirely composed of blocks had far surpassed their wildest imagination.

Teyvat was full of strange and wondrous things. The existence of otherworldly travelers was not unheard of. Unidentified flying objects were not unheard of.

But this?

This square-shaped world was simply too absurd!

Hu Tao, on the other hand, was only briefly astonished before quickly regaining her usual lively demeanor. She excitedly examined everything around her, darting her gaze from one object to another.

However, she had not forgotten Ryen's words from yesterday—she stayed close to the group and did not wander off.

Ryen was unsurprised by the Millelith and miners' reactions. He simply continued the system synchronization process.

As before, he transferred one-fourth of his physique to them, just as he had done for Zhongli and the others.

This was a fair arrangement for everyone.

The sudden surge in strength brought the Millelith and miners back to their senses.

Before they could voice their shock, Zhongli and Xiao stepped forward to calm them down, offering a brief explanation of the world's fundamental rules.

Suddenly—

"Whoa! Ryen, Ryen!"

A shadow flashed across the space, and Hu Tao leapt toward Ryen, excitement evident in her voice.

"This Grand Master Hu—er, I mean, this Hall Master Hu—suddenly feels so strong!"

But as soon as she spoke, she noticed Ningguang and the others watching her with amused expressions, seemingly unperturbed.

A sharp-witted girl like Hu Tao immediately sensed something was off.

After a brief pause, she pouted and mumbled,

"So… this is a special trait of this world, huh?"

Ryen merely shrugged and responded lightly,

"You could say that. I synchronized one-fourth of my physique to you. Without it, you probably wouldn't even be able to lift anything in this world…"

He paused for a moment before adding,

"You also have a personal status panel and nine inventory slots…"

Ryen carefully explained the unique traits brought by this physique transfer—such as health points and hunger mechanics.

However…

It was evident that Hu Tao wasn't really listening.

She simply stared at Ryen in disbelief. After a long moment, she pursed her lips and muttered,

"Just one-fourth of your physique is already this strong… Don't tell me this entire world is actually inside your body or something?"

Ryen chuckled but did not answer.

Instead, after a short pause, he turned toward Zhongli and said,

"I'll leave the miners to you and Xiao. You remember the planned areas and today's tasks, right?"

Zhongli gave a small nod, his expression calm.

"Do not worry. I will ensure they adapt quickly and begin construction as soon as possible."

"However… is it really necessary for everyone to have their own separate room? For safety reasons, they could share living quarters."

Ryen shook his head and glanced at the still-bewildered Millelith and miners.

"At most, they can share a two-person room. This is just a temporary base—they won't be staying in this world long-term."

"As for security concerns…"

Ryen gestured toward his manor and said,

"Just surround the area with fences, place down torches, and make sure no monsters spawn within the living zone."

Seeing that Ryen had made up his mind, Zhongli didn't argue further.

Exchanging a look with Xiao, he turned and led the Millelith and miners toward the western forest near the village.

There was a mining cave nearby, about ten minutes from Ryen's manor.

With the dense forest, they could easily chop trees and gather materials for construction.

Ryen estimated that the morning would be spent familiarizing the workers with the world.

Only in the afternoon would they begin building.

That said, in the Minecraft world, as long as the construction wasn't overly complex or involving advanced technology, most builds wouldn't take too long.

As he watched Zhongli and the others disappear into the distance, Ryen turned his attention back to his own plans.

The reason he had insisted on giving everyone separate rooms was simple—

He wanted to test something.

This was a different world. If they established a settlement, would it trigger the Minecraft mechanics and cause Iron Golems to spawn?

Fifty miners, ten Millelith.

Even with two people per house, that would still easily meet the conditions for Iron Golem generation.

If this world did generate Iron Golems, then these miners would have a layer of protection against monsters on the surface.

As for underground safety…

That would be up to the Millelith.

However, once they adapted to this world's weapons and armor, Ryen figured they'd be fine—as long as they didn't run into an unexpected monster horde or something abnormal.

Lost in thought, Ryen suddenly felt a gentle push from the side.

"Hmm?"

Snapping back to reality, he turned and looked at Ningguang, curiosity in his gaze.

She gave him a small smile and said,

"Yesterday, didn't you ask me to find you a Wind Glider?"

"Yeah!"

Ryen's eyebrows raised slightly, a hint of excitement flashing in his eyes.

"You found one?"

Instead of answering, Ningguang simply reached into her spatial storage and pulled out an exquisitely crafted Wind Glider—one that radiated a distinct Liyuean elegance.

Its wings were a rich golden brown, adorned with intricate patterns along the edges.

"Wings of Golden Flight."
