Genshin impact: investing in small Ningguang

Chapter 75: chapter 78-79

Chapter: 78-79

Chapter 78: Yae Miko: I Know I Was Wrong, But I'll Dare to Do It Again Next Time

If Amon knew what the three little ones were thinking, he would definitely be caught between laughter and tears.

Although Ganyu looks young, she has actually lived for a thousand years. The old man standing before them has lived far fewer years than Ganyu. As for why he still insists on calling her "sister" despite his age, it's because he had been addressing her that way since he was a child. Ganyu got used to it and never corrected him.

Ganyu hadn't expected to run into Uncle Tian here, so she greeted him:

"It's quite a coincidence, Uncle Tian. I didn't expect to meet you here."

Amon also observed the white-haired old man in front of him. He knew that while Uncle Tian appeared ordinary, he was actually the current Tianshu, one of the esteemed Liyue Qixing.

Uncle Tian glanced at both Ganyu and Amon before asking curiously, "Sister Ganyu, who is this?"

Before Ganyu could respond, Yae Miko, standing nearby, covered her mouth and said teasingly,

"Uncle Tian, this is Mr. Amon, Ganyu's boyfriend~"

Hearing Yae Miko's teasing, Ganyu's pretty face flushed red. She looked at Yae Miko and scolded,

"Yae Miko! You're doing this again..."

"Oh my, I forgot how shy Ganyu is. Sorry, sorry. I'll be more careful next time," Yae Miko said, raising her hands in mock apology, her eyes gleaming mischievously.

She knew it wasn't right to tease others like this, but she couldn't help herself. And she knew she would dare to do it again.

What a sinful fox she was.

Uncle Tian noticed Ganyu's shy and embarrassed demeanor throughout the exchange. He also didn't deny Yae Miko's words. In other words, had Ganyu tacitly acknowledged the relationship? Uncle Tian felt as though he had stumbled upon a significant secret. But, he thought, this must stay between us.

Actually, it was no longer much of a secret. All of Liyue seemed to be talking about it already. Uncle Tian felt like he might be the last person to find out.

At this moment, Amon addressed him politely:

"Hello, Uncle Tian. My name is Amon."

Uncle Tian snapped out of his thoughts, smiled, and nodded.

"Hello, Mr. Amon. Hello."

"You're here to fish too, right? This spot is excellent for fishing. Why don't you join me and sit down for a while?" he invited.

Amon naturally didn't refuse. Uncle Tian was a senior member of the Liyue Qixing, a man who had dedicated his life to Liyue. If he had chosen this spot for fishing, it was bound to be a good one.

Amon prepared his fishing rod, baited the hook, and cast it into the water. The three little ones imitated him, their actions adorable. Meanwhile, Ganyu assisted on the side, occasionally helping Amon and the three kids. She seemed every bit the picture of a loving wife and caring mother.

Uncle Tian observed this scene and couldn't help feeling sentimental. Ganyu didn't have to rush around for work. It was good for her to take some time to enjoy life.

"Mr. Amon," Uncle Tian remarked, "this is indeed a prime fishing spot, but luck plays a significant role in fishing.

"If you're fortunate, you can catch enough fish to sell and make a good profit in the morning. But if luck isn't on your side, you might sit here all day without catching anything."

As he finished speaking, his fishing rod suddenly trembled, and ripples spread across the water. Uncle Tian, an experienced fisherman, recognized the signs immediately. He grabbed the rod with both hands and reeled in his catch.

"That's a Crystalfish!"

Little Ningguang's large eyes sparkled as she identified the fish Uncle Tian had caught.

Uncle Tian turned to her with interest. "Little girl, you recognize this fish?"

Ningguang nodded and explained,

"This fish is quite valuable and highly sought after by people from all walks of life. In recent years, its price has soared..."

"But..." She hesitated.

"Go on," Uncle Tian encouraged.

Ningguang no longer hesitated and said,

"But in my opinion, the Crystalfish is overhyped. Its value has been inflated by people with ulterior motives."

Uncle Tian chuckled at her insightful observation.

"Yes, many merchants simply follow trends. When they heard that Crystalfish can produce pearls, they began paying exorbitant prices for them. But in truth, those claims are just rumors spread by cunning individuals.

"I've tried warning some merchants, but they wouldn't listen. They seemed successful on the surface, but they lacked the discernment of someone as young as you.

"Little girl, with such sharp judgment at your age, you might become one of Liyue's most successful merchants in the future."

Ningguang shook her head.

"I don't want to be a merchant. I just want to be Brother Amon's secretary!"

Her innocent and serious reply made her look even more adorable. Uncle Tian couldn't help but laugh again.

Amon, too, chuckled and reached out to ruffle Ningguang's hair.

"Little Ningguang, being a secretary doesn't conflict with becoming a great merchant.

"On the contrary, I hope you become such a successful merchant that when people in Liyue hear your name, they'll say, 'Lady Ningguang is a brilliant entrepreneur.'"

Little Ningguang didn't fully understand what it meant to be a great merchant. But she knew Amon wanted her to become one.

For Amon's sake, she resolved not just to try but to succeed.

At that moment, Amon's fishing rod twitched slightly.

He'd caught something!

...

Chapter 79: I'm Not Here to Fish, I'm Here to Buy Goods

Amon felt a strong force tugging at his fishing rod, as though something powerful lurked beneath the water.

Realizing he might have caught something extraordinary, Amon gripped the rod tightly with both hands and pulled with all his strength. Moments later, with a loud splash, he yanked the hidden prize from the depths.

To everyone's surprise, what emerged was not a fish, but a massive emerald-green sword glowing with radiant white light.

Amon raised an eyebrow at the sight of the two-handed sword. While others might not recognize it, he knew exactly what it was. This was Skyward Pride, a legendary five-star weapon.

Seeing everyone's astonished expressions, Amon shrugged nonchalantly and said,

"Don't be so surprised. There are many strange things in the world. It's not unreasonable to catch a weapon while fishing, right?"

Ganyu and Yae Miko exchanged incredulous glances. This was anything but reasonable. However, having witnessed it with their own eyes, they had no choice but to accept it.

Both women could sense that the Skyward Pride wasn't ordinary. Ganyu, in particular, felt a strong and familiar aura emanating from it. It reminded her of the Calamity Queller she had recently entrusted to Amon on behalf of Cloud Retainer.

The aura of Skyward Pride was undeniably powerful, leaving no doubt it was a rare treasure.

Yae Miko stared at Amon in disbelief, thinking, This is outrageous.

Amon's luck was simply off the charts. Who could have imagined someone fishing up such a mystical weapon?

In Inazuma, where Yae Miko lived, countless people made their livelihood from fishing, but she had never heard of anyone pulling weapons from the water.

Even Uncle Tian, standing nearby, was dumbfounded.

He had felt lucky catching something as rare as a Crystalfish, but compared to Amon, his accomplishment seemed trivial. Amon had just pulled a five-star weapon out of the water!

Uncle Tian began questioning his entire fishing experience. For years, he had fished in this same spot without ever encountering anything like this. Not only had he never caught a weapon, but he'd never even heard of it happening.

With a wry smile, Uncle Tian remarked,

"It seems Mr. Amon is exceptionally lucky today. Many people fish their entire lives and never catch a weapon. This is truly a first for me."

Qiqi tilted her head and asked innocently,

"Grandpa, does it take a lot of luck to catch weapons? But… Amon just caught another one."

Her words startled Uncle Tian, who quickly turned to look.

While Uncle Tian had been speaking, Amon had thrown his bait back into the water—and caught yet another weapon!

This time, it was a five-star one-handed sword, Skyward Blade.

Uncle Tian: ?

What was happening? Could anyone actually catch weapons twice in a row?

Amon, unfazed by the shock surrounding him, cast his line once more, striking while the iron was hot. His third catch was Memory of Dust, a legendary five-star catalyst.

Amon recognized the weapon immediately. In the lore, Memory of Dust was a gift from Guizhong to Zhongli and was still in Zhongli's possession. However, the one he had just caught was clearly a separate entity.

Uncle Tian: ???

Three magical weapons in a row? What kind of luck does this man have?

As the saying goes, "Luck is a fleeting resource," but Amon's streak seemed limitless.

While Uncle Tian stood in stunned silence, a group of young fishermen nearby became eager to test their fortunes. Inspired by Amon's success, they jumped into the water, hoping to salvage some treasure.

However, after a long and fruitless search, they returned empty-handed, watching with envy and disbelief as Amon packed up his three weapons.

"It's still just fishing," one of them muttered. "Why is there such a massive difference in results?"

Amon, aware of the growing attention, decided it was time to leave. After catching three weapons, lingering any longer would only draw more suspicion. He believed it was better to quit while he was ahead.

His mood was excellent. The trip had been more than worth it.

Skyward Pride could be given to Beidou.

Skyward Blade was perfect for Qiqi.

Memory of Dust would suit Ningguang perfectly.

For now, Amon decided to keep the weapons in reserve since the three girls were still too young to wield them.

While organizing his bag, something else caught his attention: the faintly glowing Gnosis tucked away in his belongings.

It was no longer dull and gray but emitted a faint shimmer.

Had it

resonated with something?

Amon turned his gaze toward the Memory of Dust.
