Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Oil Princess
Yu and his companions found themselves in a secluded valley in Liyue, engaged in an activity that could only be described as… questionable—with a juvenile Geovishap Hatchling as the unfortunate subject of their attentions.
"Be good, Little Yellow. Let big brother give you a pat," one of the students, his eyes gleaming with naïve foolishness, said lecherously.
The Geovishap Hatchling was anything but obedient. Despite being bound by vines, it continued to struggle fiercely.
Meanwhile, Yu had set up a campfire nearby, where he was roasting a wild boar. Holding a small knife, he cut off a piece of meat, popped it into his mouth, and chewed. Finding the flavor lacking, he took out a jar of seasoning, cut another slice, dipped it into the salt, and coated it with a thin layer of white salt crystals before eating it.
"Now that's got some taste. Lately, my palate's been getting dull. Only certain mushrooms from Sumeru seem to have any real flavor."
As he spoke, Yu pulled out a jar of red-cap mushrooms, slicing them into small chunks and laying them flat on the blade of his knife before roasting them over the fire.
With premium ingredients, simplicity is often best.
After roasting them lightly, he tossed the pieces into his mouth. That's it—authentic, just right!
"Bro Yu, are you guys here on some kind of academic tour?" Xiaochen suddenly appeared.
"Yep. Finally presentable enough to meet people. Otherwise, if I led the group out before this, we might've been mistaken for a horde of monsters." Yu didn't seem surprised by her arrival.
"Xiao's here too, right? Come join us."
A flash of teal signaled Xiao's appearance.
"Once again, we meet."
The three of them started chatting casually, while the group of students remained entirely focused on the juvenile Geovishap.
"Hurry up! Its mother could show up any moment!" one of them warned.
Just then, a voice rang out, accompanied by tremors beneath their feet.
"It's Alice! And by the sound of it, Rhinedottir must've taken a fancy to the mother's body parts for her research. Now that they've lost the hatchling, the mother's clearly enraged."
"They're in danger. Anyone willing to save them?" Yu sounded indifferent, unwilling to move.
"I'll go, Bro Yu. Let me show you the strength of the Geo Archon's Princess!" Xiaochen left her seat confidently.
"Xiao, what do you think of her strength?" Yu asked.
After a brief silence, Xiao replied, "Far inferior to the Archon."
Yu chuckled inwardly. That was obvious. Morax was the strongest Archon he had ever encountered, No joke. While Yu suspected he might have a slight edge over Morax, who knew if the Geo Archon was hiding any trump cards?
"How does she compare to you?"
Xiao paused again before answering, "I'm slightly stronger. Of course, she's still young. As a descendant of the Geo Archon's lineage, she needs time to grow."
Yu didn't press further but instead asked another question:
"Do you think her flesh and blood could be used to create Mora?"
Xiao was taken aback but quickly calmed himself. Knowing Yu wouldn't do anything as extreme as kidnapping Xiaochen, he gave the question serious thought.
"Probably not. The Archon's blood is golden, while Miss Xiaochen's is black—likely due to Lady Guizhong's influence. It has a peculiar scent, so it's unlikely."
"Black blood? She looks pretty pale, though. Why would her blood be black?"
"I don't know. The birth of a god involves many mysteries, things that are difficult to explain."
"To be honest, I'm curious. I'd like to see it for myself."
"Then ask her directly."
At that moment, Xiaochen returned. She had subdued the Geovishap Hatchling, rolling it into a large boulder-like shape, and handed it over to the eager students for their research.
"Xiaochen, come here for a second."
"What's up, Bro Yu?"
"I heard your blood is black. I want to see it."
"Huh? That'll hurt…"
"Come on, just a little peek. I'm really curious."
"Alright, alright. I'm just that generous."
Xiaochen pulled out a special dagger and attempted to make a cut on her finger… but nothing happened.
"Oops, wrong dagger. This one hasn't tasted my father's blood, so its level isn't high enough. Let me switch."
She then retrieved another dagger, sharper and more menacing than the first, and made a small cut on her pale hand. A trickle of black blood oozed out.
"Can I collect a little?"
Feigning a shy expression, Xiaochen forced herself to blush slightly before replying, "Okay, just a bit."
Yu took an empty vial from Rhinedottir, collecting a small sample of the black blood. After examining it, he poured a drop onto his hand, sniffed it, and finally tasted it.
Xiaochen's fake shyness turned into genuine embarrassment. How could Bro Yu be so bold?
After a thorough taste test, Yu reached a conclusion:
Oil. It's crude oil.
Yu's expression instantly changed as he looked at Xiaochen. She wasn't just an ordinary girl—she was a literal treasure trove. Her veins didn't carry blood; they carried oil!
His gaze grew increasingly fervent, resembling a prospector eyeing a gold mine. Xiaochen noticed the change and grew flustered.
Why was Bro Yu looking at her like that? So annoying…
Meanwhile, Xiao stood by, puzzled. He couldn't figure out why Yu suddenly looked at Xiaochen as if she were prey. Little did he know, Yu's mind was racing with schemes to bring this "Oil Princess" home. With her around, he wouldn't just have a mine—he'd have an endless oil well!

At the Yaksha Shrine
The sound of shattering stone echoed through the shrine. In the dim light, two weary blond figures looked on with exhausted yet hopeful expressions. Finally, after centuries of being offline, Bosacius and Menogias, two of the guardian Yakshas, had been reawakened.
The two blonds hugged each other and wept.
"It's been so hard. Finally, they're back online…"
