Genshin Impact: I Became The Son Of Greater Lord Rukkhadevata

Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Mom! I'm Your Son!

Soon, the students who had been brought back were swiftly absorbed into the ever-growing army of little blues. Alice, however, didn't mind in the slightest—after all, she had always been blue to begin with.

"Alice, don't run! Let your big brother and sister give you a hug."

"No way!"

"Just one hug, please!"

"No can do!"

...

Yu's eyes landed on a young girl busy brewing potions. Despite being transformed into one of the little blues, her delicate features were still unmistakable, and after a closer look, he finally recognized her—it was Rhinedottir.

Normally, Yu would have grabbed her by the back of her neck and given her a stern talking-to about her reckless experiments. But this time, he had no intention of risking turning blue himself.

"Headmaster! Why haven't you turned blue yet?!"

A strange symbol resembling four checkmarks intertwined suddenly appeared on Yu's forehead.

"Rhinedottir!!! Either stay put here or go back to Khaenri'ah!"

"Headmaster, please don't send me away! I swear I'll find a cure! Please!" Rhinedottir whined, switching into full-on pitiful mode. This strategy usually worked on everyone—except when it got her thrown into solitary confinement.

Yu ignored her completely and turned to leave. He'd deal with her after she came up with a proper antidote.

Back in his personal chamber, Yu sat slumped on his throne, supporting his head with one hand. The headache was relentless.

On the way back, he had passed several guards who had already turned into little blues. Afraid to make any mistakes, they didn't dare cause any trouble. Now, alone in the room, Yu could only sit in silence, his head throbbing from all the chaos.

Suddenly, someone entered the chamber. The figure was regal and elegant, with long hair that had once been pure white but was now dyed a soft blue. Despite the color change, she retained her natural grace, looking just as gentle and refined as ever.

Logically, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata shouldn't have been affected by the transformation. However, upon seeing a tearful, pitiful Rhinedottir after she had turned blue, Rukkhadevata couldn't help but feel sorry for her. The little girl had begged her to speak to Yu and plead for leniency, and Rukkhadevata, unable to resist her charm, had agreed. Overjoyed, Rhinedottir had leapt into her arms like an excited kitten. Since Rukkhadevata had always been fond of the girl, she relented.

Now, standing before the unaffected Yu, she frowned slightly.

"Why didn't anyone try to turn him blue?!"

"Queen, we didn't dare…" The guards standing at the door looked as though they were on the verge of tears.

That's the Overlord! We're just guards earning a few thousand Mora a month—why would we risk our lives trying something like that?! (At least inflation hadn't made things worse yet.)

"Cowards! Fine, I'll do it myself!" Rukkhadevata huffed.

Yu, still rubbing his temples, didn't notice her approach. He muttered quietly to himself.

"Ugh, my head… If my current students are already this much trouble, will one of them someday end up giving me a heart attack?"

When he finally lifted his head, he saw Rukkhadevata—now in her little blue's form—rapidly approaching him. Before he could react, she was already right in front of him. The ever-graceful Rukkhadevata spread her arms wide, exuding a maternal warmth, ready to pull him into a hug.

Her eyes sparkled with mischief, her lips curved into a playful grin, and her outstretched arms, now tinted blue, reached for Yu's neck.

"Yu, come let your mother hug you. I've never had the chance to hold you properly since you were little."

"Mom! What are you doing?! I'm your son!" Before Yu could react, Rukkhadevata had already pounced, pulling him into a warm embrace.

Caught off guard, Yu found himself enveloped by her softness. His first thought was… She's so soft.

The sensation was entirely different from Ei's. Perhaps due to years of training, Ei's skin was smooth and delicate but lacked this kind of tenderness.

Rukkhadevata, however, was genuinely soft.

A refreshing, earthy scent surrounded him—Yu's second impression. The clean, invigorating fragrance gave him a sense of clarity, reminding him of the time Raiden Makoto had removed several iron shards from his body.

Despite being thousands of years old and vastly older than Ei, Rukkhadevata somehow felt more youthful and tender. Her long ears and ethereal presence gave her an air of timeless grace, as though she were an ageless goddess.

Though she was undeniably a mature woman, she still carried the charm of a soft, fragrant girl.

Bit by bit, Yu's skin turned blue, followed by his hair. Finally, Rukkhadevata released him, smiling warmly.

"That's my good son. Mother will be on her way now."

Yu remained frozen in place, dazed by the entire ordeal. The faint scent of grass lingered in the air around him as he glanced at his now-blue hands.

"…Just let the world burn…"

Meanwhile, the chaos continued to spread. Travelers from the desert entered the city with normal faces, only to leave with blue ones. Merchants visiting from other regions fared no better. Rumor had it that the blue epidemic had already reached Liyue. Perhaps it was worth going to take a look.

---

In Liyue

A blue-haired Zhong Xiaochun was currently hanging from a beam, enduring a dual beating from her equally blue-haired parents. The reason didn't need to be stated—half the city had turned into little blues. Even with strict contractual enforcement, they had barely managed to contain the chaos. Without it, Liyue would have turned into another Sumeru, with blue figures flooding the streets.

For now, Inazuma, being farther away, remained unaffected.

Xiaochun sobbed as her parents mercilessly swung their whips. They moved so quickly that the whips blurred into shadows.

"Dad, Mom, I was wrong! I just wanted a hug because I was feeling sad! I didn't mean to do it on purpose!"

"Stop making excuses! If you keep this up, we'll beat you to death! You're our only child!"

"It's fine. Your mother and I can always have another," Zhongli said calmly, his blue hair gleaming in the light.

Xiaochun suddenly envied Yu. He was so gentle. His mother must be a kind and loving person too…
