Game Reincarnation: Reborn as the Strongest Villain

Chapter 16: 16 Report and New Quest.

Unique Skill is the same case as Unique Magic. It was a personal skill or the only skill gifted from heaven to a certain individual, and no one else would have it for as long as the individual lived.

However, despite the great implication behind the name, it doesn't mean that all unique skills are good and admired. It depends on how the individual who wields them uses them, whether they would use them for good or bad intentions.

After the new abilities seep into his body, Jin's vision flickers before it goes dark, and he falls into confusion. Second pass, then minutes, Jin lost track inside the endless abyss that stretches far away without ending, almost succumbing him to madness.

A single light pierced through the darkness and became a thread of salvation. He reached toward the light, and soon, his vision slowly returned.

'What?!'. The first thing he saw was the world with its glittering miracles captured within his eyes.

Dust particles that gleam with various colorful ambiances flow endlessly in every corner of the atmosphere, creating a fantasy phenomenon he has witnessed throughout his life. 'Pretty'.

As he was absorbed in new discoveries, Irena saw the young master acting strange while absentmindedly staring at an empty space. She brought her face closer and wanted to shake his shoulder when a creak alerted her attention to the source, and she saw the woman and her daughter come out.

"Thank you for earlier?". The woman bowed her torso as she expressed her gratitude to Irena.

"No, I was just following the young master's instruction after all." Irena looked to the side and saw her young master staring at a faraway place.

Using a bit of force from her finger, pinching Jin's skin, his body jolted in surprise as he finally caught up with the situation.

Jin glanced to the side and found all the other residents watching him weirdly, turning the entire atmosphere awkward. He found himself glued to the figure of a young woman who held Nina's hand as he had never seen her in person. 'Wait, those ears?!'.

The woman in her late teens had straight blonde hair shining down like a silky golden thread on her back. Her beautiful face, with a touch of innocence, captivated Jin for a second. Her sharp green eyes radiate strong-willed natures, and the most important part is a pair of pointy ears, a characteristic of a certain race that resides in this world.

"Young master, what's the matter?".

Irena's voice shook him as he regained his mind. He glanced at Irena and Nina's expressions and found nothing wrong with their current situation.

"Nothing; I was deep in thought for a second."

He shook his head for a moment and focused his vision toward the blond-haired elves. Slowly, with his new eyes that could see mana in the atmosphere, he spotted a complex pattern around the girl's finger, coming from a ring. 'Is that the cause?'.

"Um, is there anything weird with my appearance?". The elves' woman blushed while glaring at the boy who was staring intensely into her body.

"No, nothing; it's just, I'm happy you are healthy now."

"...Yes, thank you for your concern and help. Also, I am sorry for my late introduction. My name is Iris, and my daughter is Nina".

"Pleased to meet you". Nina bowed her head slightly while looking at Jin intently.

"Ah, I forgot about that. My name is Jin Midnight; you can call me Jin, and this is my mother's personal aid,".

"Irena, pleased to meet you".

"Aid and also that family name are you perhaps…?". Iris gasped as she wanted to mention something.

"Let's go to a dining table and talk; it is uncomfortable to be standing around." Jin cut off her words.

The four moved to the dining table, and they began formally introducing themselves and explaining why Jin, the lord's son, loitering around the street, even had to meddle into someone else's life. Iris and Nina kept listening to his story with interest.

"Thank you so much for helping us; we don't know how to repay you".

"Um, it's okay, Mrs. Iris. You don't have to. I just did it on my own accord".

'Besides, I have already received the reward'.

Jin observed the woman in front of him and suddenly noticed a thin layer of magical energy covering her entire body like a cloth. He turned to the side toward Nina and saw no other weird things. The same was true for Irena, who only excreted a residual golden aura.

"No way, I don't know how or when, but I will definitely repay this debt".

"Okay, if you insist that much. Mrs. Iris. I will gladly receive it".

After a few minutes of continued conversation, Jin had to part ways because he still had something to do. Irena also had to part ways with Iris' family because she worked in the mansion.

"I will take my leave. See you later, Mrs. Iris and Nina. You don't have to sell some herbs anymore. Stay home and accompany your mother for the day."

"Um, thank you very much, big brother!".

Seeing the bright smile that had returned to her face, Jin and Irena parted their lips in joy before walking away from the house while being waved by the little girl. When entering a market, Irena put on her hood and walked close to Jin.

"Young master, what is your plan next?".

"I am going to the Adventure Guild to report my quest yesterday, and maybe look for another quest".

"Understood, it seems we will part away. Be careful, young master."

"You too, Irena. Thank you for your help!".

The two went on separate paths as Jin walked toward the central town, which was still crowded. A soft and gentle breeze carried away a nostalgic scent of citrus flavor and brought his attention toward the source, where he found a stall crowded with people.

With his newfound power enabling him to see the world in myriad colors, Jin was a bit dizzy by the overflowing information he received. However, Jin had his priorities straight, so he reluctantly put his curiosity aside and resumed his walk.

As he entered the still-crowded adventure, Jin steeled his mind and approached the quest board with the Iron-rank quest. He scanned the several papers on it before finding something he wanted to do. 'This will be good'.

Jin ripped the paper and walked toward the receptionist's desk, which Layla was responsible for. Luckily, the man who had business with her left, so Jin hurriedly secured his place.

"Mrs. Layla, I have a report and some quest to take".

"Oh, adventure Jin. Please proceed with your report first!". He nodded his head before taking out the herbs he had gathered yesterday.

Layla flinched at first, but as a professional, she maintained her business smile while observing the gathered herbs. She counted twelve healing grasses, one of the ingredients in a health potion to heal a small wound.

"Okay, wait a minute, I will process it and your payment!".

Jin waited for a while, and Layla went to the back and returned shortly after, holding a silver tray with silver coins on top. Her soft brown aura that soothed Jin's heart calmed his heart a bit.

"Here is your reward, six silver coins for the healing grass you collect".

"Thank you! Please process this quest; I want to take it".

"This is…?!".

Behind the clutch of shadow, Jin, with utmost focus, lurked behind a shadow of a tree, watching every step he took so that he wouldn't alert the creature in front. He clenched the Katana sheath, observing the green creature that yawned under the canopy of a tree.

The creature had a small feature like a kid. Its green, sticky skin was tampered with dirt, and it wore a filthy cloth over its crotch area. The monster's jagged protruding teeth drooled as its yellow malicious eyes were slowly closed in comfortable sleep.

"I can do this!".

*Gyaak!

Jin jumped off, alerting the goblin, who almost set into the dream world. It tried to search for its club that had rolled a bit far away from its grasp. He reached the goblin and drew the Katana in one breath, beheading the creature.

He looked toward the headless corpse, keeping his gaze open to let himself get used to it. Jin brought his Katana blade near the monster's right pointy ear before cutting it.

"Good, let's keep going!".

Checking his own condition and storing the goblin ears in his bracelet, Jin resumes his search for hunting ten Goblins as his quest, also, after getting himself used to his new power. Jin realized a few things about his eyes.

One, Jin can see mana in the atmosphere. Two, he can also see a person's mana related to their Elemental aptitude. For example, Jin, who has Wind aptitude, continuously exudes a small green mana, and Irena, a light elemental user, keeps radiating a golden aura.

He also perceives another thing: the mana that leaked from the goblin's body was neither from the six elements nor from a non-attribute one. Instead, it leaked a jet-black aura that seemed ominous and filled with evil.

There are probably many functions he is unaware of, so he will check them out later and focus on the quest before him.

Jin ventured deep into the east forest, where weak monsters and beasts gathered. His eyes caught the fleeting flow of black energy like the goblin's. He carried himself cautiously with light steps before facing a dark cave around the mountain of rocks stretched on each side.

"Don't tell me, it led me to a cave…?!".

Once he focused, Jin could see an ominous black aura gathering around the entrance. Its malicious nature disturbed the flow of mana around it. Jin exhaled and tried to enter the cave with resolve.
