Chapter 126: 126. Luxury Ends Here
Jason Liu sighed deeply. He couldn't help but think, "Girls these days know too much. They're nothing like the simple-minded ones from the past!"
The driver finished unloading everything into the villa and quickly left.
Jason glanced at Lin Xiaohan and Jiang Chuchu, who were busy exploring the luxurious living room. He casually said, "Do whatever you want; I'm going to shower," and hurried off to his room, leaving the two women behind.
However, his offhand comment left the two girls puzzled.
"What did he mean by that?" Jiang Chuchu whispered. "Is he hinting at something? Or is he up to no good?"
Lin Xiaohan frowned, also feeling a bit suspicious. "You think he's been pretending to be harmless all this time? Like a wolf in sheep's clothing?"
Jiang Chuchu gripped Lin Xiaohan's hand nervously. "What if he's just been acting straight all along? What if now that we're here, he shows his true colors?"
But Lin Xiaohan shook her head firmly. "No way. I've known him for a while now, and honestly, he's just an idiot. There's no way he could pull off an act like that. Besides, he's too simple-minded to be dangerous."
Hearing this, Jiang Chuchu felt reassured. She laughed and said, "You're right. He's just a clueless straight guy. Not a threat at all!"
With that, her curiosity got the better of her again. "Come on, let's keep looking around!" she said, pulling Lin Xiaohan along.
The two wandered through the villa, marveling at its size and extravagance.
"This place is massive and so luxurious!" Jiang Chuchu exclaimed. "Doesn't he get lonely living here by himself?"
Lin Xiaohan rolled her eyes. "Lonely? Please. He's either reading novels, playing games, or watching livestreams. The guy doesn't have time to feel lonely."
Jiang Chuchu snorted. "Oh yeah, these straight guys are all the same. They're obsessed with those anime girls. Screaming at their screens, calling those fake characters their 'wives.' It's so creepy!"
Lin Xiaohan chuckled at her friend's outburst. "True. That's probably why they stay single forever!"
The two girls burst out laughing as they continued their tour, their voices echoing through the grand villa.
When they reached the rooftop and saw the large swimming pool, Jiang Chuchu's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Wow! A pool! I wish I had my swimsuit—I'd jump in right now!"
But Lin Xiaohan pulled her back. "Are you crazy? Even if Jason is just a clueless idiot, we can't take any chances. What if seeing us in swimsuits makes him... change his mind? Better safe than sorry!"
Jiang Chuchu reluctantly agreed, nodding seriously. "You're right. Safety first!" She sighed, casting one last longing look at the pool before they both headed back downstairs.
By the time they reached the first floor, Jason had finished his shower. He was sitting on the sofa, chatting on his phone with someone named Ethan, who owned a props company.
Seeing the girls come downstairs, Jason glanced at the time and said bluntly, "It's almost 11. Shouldn't you two head home?"
Lin Xiaohan checked her phone and gasped. "Wow, it's so late already! I didn't even realize how much time had passed."
Meanwhile, Jiang Chuchu leaned over the back of the sofa, trying to peek at Jason's phone.
"Stop that," Jason said, pushing her away. "It's not what you think. I'm working, not chatting with some girl!"
Jiang Chuchu lost interest immediately when she saw that the contact was a man. "Boring!" she muttered, grabbing her bag.
Lin Xiaohan smiled. "Let's go, Chuchu. It's late."
As they headed for the door, Jiang Chuchu playfully said, "Xiaohan, come over to my house tonight. You can meet my parents, and we can share a bed!"
Hearing the words "share a bed," Jason's imagination got the better of him. He glanced at Lin Xiaohan, his thoughts wandering to places they shouldn't.
Lin Xiaohan caught his look immediately and glared at him. Her sharp gaze snapped him out of it, and he quickly looked away, laughing nervously.
After escorting the two women to their car and waving goodbye, Jason returned to the villa. He picked up his phone to continue his conversation with Ethan.
Ethan: You want the four swords to have custom designs, right? Two engraved with the Baratheon stag and the other two with the Stark direwolf?
Jason: Exactly. And can you add details to the hilt too?
Ethan: No problem.
Jason Liu: Great. Use high-carbon steel this time—better quality than the last batch. And make sure the scabbards and hilts are as luxurious as possible. Inlay them with those cheap gemstones—blue and red ones, whatever looks fancy. The flashier, the better!
Luo Yuchen chuckled at the request. He knew Jason must be dealing with a wealthy but gullible customer. Using cheap zircon to mimic real gems was an old trick, but it worked like a charm.
Still, Ethan didn't care. A job was a job, and Jason was a generous client.
Ethan: Got it. I'll make sure they look luxurious and unique.
Jason Liu: Perfect. Just make sure no two swords are identical. Each one needs to stand out.
Ethan: Understood. Every sword will be one of a kind!
After calculating the cost, Luo Yuchen sent a quote.
Ethan: Four swords, 7,000 yuan each. That's 28,000 yuan total. What do you think?
Jason Liu: Sounds good. Just make it quick!
Ethan grinned. This guy was truly a dream client—generous, easy to please, and willing to pay upfront. He silently thanked his good fortune for meeting such a "God of Wealth."
Jason set his phone aside, satisfied that the deal was progressing smoothly. As he leaned back on the sofa, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride. This project wasn't just about making money—it was about creating something truly impressive, even if it meant cutting a few corners along the way.
For Jason Liu, luxury might have its price, but appearances were everything.
