Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Chapter 124: 124. Shopping with the Boss Is Quite an Experience

Jason Liu stretched and announced his plans for the afternoon. "I'm heading to the World Mall to buy gifts. A lot of gifts, actually. By the time I'm done, I might break my legs from all the walking."

His primary goal was to pick out presents for the Stark family and the royal couple, King Robert and Queen Cersei. But midway through his thoughts, Jason realized a critical flaw in his plan—he had no idea what women liked or what to buy for them. Feeling stumped, he sighed.

Jiang Chuchu, sitting nearby, perked up at the mention of shopping. Her eyes sparkled, and she practically begged, "Senior! Are you going to the mall? Can I come along? I'll help you pick out gifts—for free, even!"

Jason looked at her doubtfully. "You?"

Jiang Chuchu nodded eagerly. "Yes, me! Oh, and if you're unsure, bring Xiaohan too. The three of us can go together and pick gifts for you. It'll be fun!"

The idea of skipping work to go shopping had her nearly bouncing with excitement.

Lin Xiaohan, who had been quietly listening, adjusted her bangs and asked, "So, who exactly are you buying these gifts for? Are they for men or women?"

"Both," Jason replied casually, "but mostly for women."

At this, both women paused and gave him a long, suspicious look. Their stares made Jason feel uneasy, and he finally asked, "What's with those looks? Did I say something wrong?"

Jiang Chuchu smirked and teased, "Senior, since when did you know so many women? Weren't you single not long ago? Now you're a heartbreaker?"

Jason's eyes widened. "What nonsense are you talking about? I'm not a heartbreaker! These gifts aren't for the women themselves but for the men around them. You understand, right?"

Lin Xiaohan sighed in relief. She had briefly worried that Jason might have let his newfound wealth go to his head.

Jiang Chuchu, however, seemed to catch on. "Oh, I see! You're giving gifts to the women to win favor with the men. Clever, senior!" She winked at him, making a mysterious gesture as if she were in on a secret.

Lin Xiaohan glanced at Jason with a mix of curiosity and surprise. She hadn't expected him to know such powerful people. That must explain how he started his business so quickly—connections at the top!

Jason noticed their assumptions but didn't bother correcting them. Explaining everything would be too much effort, and honestly, this misunderstanding worked in his favor. It made him seem more influential, which could only boost confidence in his company.

He put on a mysterious air and said with mock seriousness, "This is confidential, alright? I've worked hard to establish these connections, so don't go telling anyone!"

The two women nodded solemnly, fully convinced they were now privy to some high-level secret.

With everything settled, Jason asked them to finish up their work early so they could join him on the shopping trip.

They each took their own car—Jason in his black Buick, Lin Xiaohan in her modest Volkswagen Polo, and Jiang Chuchu in Jason's flashy Ferrari. Together, they headed to the mall.

Once they arrived, Jason led the way to the women's clothing section on the third floor. "Let's start with gifts for two women in their early thirties. What do women that age usually like? Help me choose, and I'll pay!"

The two women immediately got to work, taking Jason from one luxury store to another. Chanel, Dior, Burberry—they left no brand unexplored. Dresses, evening gowns, crystal high heels, handbags, perfumes, lipsticks, skincare products, and even diamond necklaces were added to the growing pile.

"Okay, that's enough," Jason finally said, feeling overwhelmed. "Now let's move on to gifts for three younger girls—two are around thirteen, and one is ten. What do you think they'd like?"

The girls in question were Myrcella, Sansa, and Arya. Jason figured anything pretty or fun would make them happy.

Lin Xiaohan and Jiang Chuchu, reluctantly tearing themselves away from the women's boutiques, switched to picking out gifts for the younger ones. They selected frilly dresses, cute tutu skirts, princess-style gowns, and even some age-appropriate cosmetics.

With the women's and girls' gifts sorted, it was time to shop for the boys—Prince Tommen, Bran, and Rickon. They picked out some cool children's outfits and simple accessories, ensuring the gifts would suit their tastes.

Jason glanced at his watch and realized how much time had passed. He felt a bit guilty for making the two women run around the mall with him for hours. To make up for it, he waved his hand and said, "You two have been a big help. As thanks, pick out a set of cosmetics and perfume for yourselves—on me!"

Jiang Chuchu let out a delighted squeal and jumped in excitement, while Lin Xiaohan smiled, clearly pleased.

As the two women rushed off to make their selections, the clerks in the store began whispering and exchanging amused looks. A young man buying luxury goods with two women in tow? They couldn't help but assume he was a wealthy playboy entertaining two girlfriends at once.

Jason noticed the glances but chose to ignore them. Instead, he contacted the mall manager to arrange for all the purchases to be delivered to his house.

The manager, eager to please a high-spending customer, quickly assured him it would be done. After all, Jason had spent millions in a single afternoon.
