Chapter 124: Chap-121

In the control room of the Merlin Third Aerospace Laboratory, excitement filled the air as everyone saw the satellite successfully connect on the screen.

"Fuck! Oh, shit! That's great!"

"Wuhu!!! We did it!"

Marvin and Charlie jumped up, high-fiving enthusiastically.

"Success!" Merlin let out a long sigh of relief. This was his first time printing a satellite rocket, so he had felt uncertain. Now that the connection was successful, he could finally relax.

"Next time someone tries to mess with us, they'll get a taste of the antimatter railgun!"

Space-based weapons, once positioned, are notoriously difficult to intercept from the ground.

...

After the successful launch of the space-based cannon satellite, Merlin's stock of Chiral Substances was almost exhausted. Apart from printing the space-based cannon, he had also printed an Avenger as a prize for the first-place winner of the Los Santos competition.

The second-place Tiansha and third-place Khanjali tanks had already rolled off the production line. Along with the prize for the first place, Merlin introduced another local Deroso Autobot to the world.

As for the third-placed Harry, who already owned both a Khanjali and a Transformer, he decided to sell his reward. With the money, he purchased a combat prediction chip for himself, enhancing his capabilities to participate in the Iron Man Legion selection.

Recent discussions on player forums focused on chip spiders, androids, and the selection mission released by Stark. Following the Los Santos incident, players had begun to value teamwork, forming small groups to complete missions more effectively.

The platform catered to all types of players:

Superhero enthusiasts could install a security chip to fight criminals and gangs.

Business-minded players could install navigation chips and take on material transport missions.

Bounty hunters could freely mix and match chips, receiving private tasks from various bosses.

Criminals, on the other hand, were given gang fights and smuggling missions.

As for the deviants… the superheroes would handle them.

...

After confirming the smooth operation of the space-based cannon satellite, Merlin and Arcee returned home. However, as soon as Merlin entered his bedroom, he noticed a familiar figure at the window, seemingly waiting for him.

It was another long night of passionate billiards with Gwen, aka Spider-Woman. Both agreed to keep their masks on, maintaining a playful mystery.

Despite a week apart, Gwen's skills had improved significantly.

Outside, snowflakes fell gently, but the room was filled with warmth and energy.

...

The next day, Merlin slept in until nightfall, woken only by the sound of his alarm.

"It's snowing…" He opened the curtains, letting in the crisp air. Outside, everything was blanketed in white. Christmas trees and snowmen adorned the entrances of apartments, while forklifts cleared the streets.

Families dressed in thick winter clothes played in the snow, creating a scene of peace and joy.

"Bang!"

The idyllic moment was shattered by a gunshot. A man fled a convenience store, carrying stolen food. Police sirens wailed in the distance, but before they could arrive, a young vigilante pulled out an armor-piercing pistol and took the man down.

"Add one to the anti-crime campaign progress..." the young man muttered as the mechanical spider on his shoulder beeped in confirmation.

During the holiday season, some individuals resorted to theft, but this vigilante was ready, staking out stores and delivering justice his way.

"One million... just wait for me!"

Hearing the sirens drawing closer, the young man slipped into an alley.

"Whoosh!"

A figure zipped past the window. Gwen, in her Spider-Woman outfit, gave Merlin a thumbs-up before chasing after the young man.

...

Upstairs, Merlin tilted his head. The events outside were unexpected, yet oddly fitting.

After tidying up his room and tossing the sheets into the washing machine, he cooked himself a hearty meal.

At six o'clock, there was a knock at his door.

"Merlin, let's go! The Stark Industries Baymax Technology Exhibition is happening. The designs are incredible!" George called from outside, his wife beside him.

"Where's Gwen?" Merlin asked, grabbing his metal backpack.

"She's already there," George replied with a helpless shrug. Gwen's frequent disappearances during the holidays hadn't gone unnoticed.

"Alright!" Merlin nodded, locking up before heading out with George and his wife.

The Baymax Exhibition was set for 8 p.m. in the square garden, while Hall 1 of the stadium hosted the Hammer Industries androids exhibition. Merlin planned to use his clone technique to be in both places simultaneously.

...

By the time they arrived, the square garden was packed. Baymax, as a home robot, had drawn large crowds, especially families. Among the attendees were foundation members, philanthropists, and parliamentarians.

Meanwhile, military officials and other key figures had gathered at the Hammer Industries exhibition, anticipating Merlin's appearance.

They assumed that, being from Hammer Industries, Merlin would attend their event, given the practical and advanced nature of their bionic technology compared to the Baymax robots.

...

"Merlin! Dad! Mom!"

Gwen's blond hair gleamed as she waved excitedly, weaving through the crowd toward them. Her previously youthful charm now carried a more mature grace.

"We agreed to come together. Why did you run off on your own?" Mrs. Stacey scolded gently.

"No choice! Ms. Pepper invited our band to open the show!" Gwen grinned, deflecting blame onto Merlin.
