From Beast Abilities to Sect Grand Master

Chapter 358: Chief Librarian

Lee Long wasn't about to let Huang Shi get the upper hand and he also went up to Lin Fan, "Don't listen to him.

"His daughter looks exactly like him.

"My daughter is much prettier and nicknamed one of the four jade beauties in Hong Feng City.

"And if you don't mind, I can introduce her to you."

"You old fox," Huang Shi tried to nudge Lee Long away, but couldn't do so.

They turned, stared and cursed at each other.

"I'm sorry but I'm more interested in my cultivation and my Dao." Lin Fan scratched his head and said.

Nothing was going to stand in his way to becoming the Sect Master of Qing Feng Sect.

Only then could he be in total control of his destiny.

Huang Shi and Lee Long kept quiet, looked at Lin Fan and then at each other.

"No worries. Your daughters will find someone else that's just as young and successful as Lin Fan." Ho Fu said and puffed out a mouthful of smoke.

"You are right, Master Ho," Huang Shi turned and walked up to Ho Ming.

With a huge smile, he repeated what he said to Ho Ming.

Lee Long also joined in to pester Ho Ming.

Ho Ming glanced over at Lin Fan, seeking help from him.

But Lin Fan just shrugged and watched the commotion.

...

Qing Feng Sect.

Mission Hall.

When Lin Fan and Ho Ming entered the mission hall, it went silent again.

All the disciples watched as they went up to the counter.

They passed the mission slab to the disciple at the counter with a letter from Huang Shi and Lee Long.

The disciple read the letter and verified the family stamp on the letter.

"Senior martial brothers, please wait for your rewards." The disciple turned around and nodded at the few menial disciples standing behind him.

The menial disciples quickly went inside a room.

After a few moments they came out with a wooden chest.

They placed the wooden chest in front of Lin Fan and Ho Ming and opened it.

Suddenly, the Mission Hall was bathed in a golden glow.

The disciples stared at what was inside the wooden chest.

Some of them had to pinch themselves to make sure what they were looking at was real.

A hundred taels of gold.

That was part of the reward, and it was something they could never have in their lifetime.

"Senior martial brothers, can you pass me your wooden slabs?" The disciple at the counter asked.

Lin Fan and Ho Ming did as requested.

The disciple then added one hundred fifty contribution points to each of the wooden slabs.

"Thanks." Lin Fan said as he kept his wooden slab.

"It's better for you to keep the gold." Ho Ming said, he didn't want to worry about someone coming to him for the gold.

Lin Fan nodded and he kept the wooden chest in his toad statue.

All the golden glow disappeared, and the Mission Hall returned to its former mundane looks.

The disciples watched with envy as Lin Fan and Ho Ming left the Mission Hall.

...

"Ho Ming, if you need help with cultivation resources, just let me know." Lin Fan said as they walked towards the Qing Feng Sect library.

He was eager to help Ho Ming get to the next level.

Sometimes he couldn't be around Ho Ming like what happened earlier, so it was best for him to help Ho Ming progress.

"Don't worry, I have more than enough contribution points and money from my family for that." Ho Ming said and gave out a sigh.

"Not everyone can be as talented as you." He shrugged his shoulders at the reality.

Lin Fan patted him on his back and said, "Don't worry, let's see what we can get out of the chief librarian. A higher-level technique should help you tremendously."

They entered the library, and they saw the old man they had met previously.

Now they knew who he was.

The chief librarian.

He had helped Lin Fan into the room where he got the Eight Trigram Hammer Technique.

"Ah, you two again. How can I help you this time?" The old man said when he saw Lin Fan and Ho Ming.

"You remember us?" Ho Ming exclaimed.

The old man with his thin and scrawny finger pointed at his head and said, "My memory is like a library, never forgetting anything I've seen before."

"We heard that it's possible to get manuscripts for techniques that are above Heavenly Level." Lin Fan asked.

Ho Ming's Qing Feng Sect Sword Technique was already at Heavenly Level, and his Thunderous Exploding Technique Sword Technique was at Mystique Level, which was a level below Heavenly Level.

So, Lin Fan had wanted to find something that's better than Heavenly Level, and if possible, he wanted something that was better than what he had now.

The chief librarian gave them a smirk and said, "Of course there are. But there's a huge price to be paid for it."

"Contribution points or money? We have lots of it." Ho Ming replied.

Shaking his head, the chief librarian said, "What do you think an old man like me has use for contribution points and money for?

"What I want is knowledge.

"In exchange for knowledge, you shall have to give me knowledge that I don't know of."

"Knowledge like?" Lin Fan asked.

The chief librarian looked out of the window and said, "You know the West Monastery?"

"Yes." Lin Fan and Ho Ming replied.

Lin Fan had some cooperation with Hu Tuo, maybe he can help. Lin Fan thought.

"I want their manuscript, the Arhat Arduous Cultivation Technique." The chief librarian said.

Lin Fan frowned and thought back.

The sect master for the West Monastery, Long Kong had always given him a weird vibe.

Something that he couldn't pinpoint what it was.

He recalled how he was willing to sacrifice his disciple's life for a win.

Getting the manuscript might be harder than he had initially thought.

Seeing Lin Fan's hesitation, the chief librarian said, "Don't worry. There will be help for you."

The chief librarian said and took out a scroll from his sleeve pocket.
