Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Endeavour's flames roared around him, blazing with determination. The ground beneath felt unstable and shaky, as though it may collapse with a strong step. But Endeavour didn't care. His focus was razor-sharp, and his eyes locked on to Proxy.
Proxy stood with his blade in hand, the weapon dripping with blood. His eyes gleamed with a cold malice, the same he held when looking at All Might. His expression was one of detachment. He tilted his head slightly, his lips curling into a smirk.
"Endeavour," Proxy said, his voice calm and mocking. "I was wondering when another hero would show up. All Might looked like he needed a babysitter."
Endeavour's jaw tightened, he was wishing he had found a way to have tracked this mad man down much sooner, before it even became the situation that it is now.
Proxy chuckled, "Oh Endeavour. Always so serious. Let's see if you can back up that big ego that seem's to come with the number 2 position."
Endeavour shot forward. With a roar, he launched himself forward, his flames propelling him at blinding speeds. His fist, wreathed in fire, shot toward Proxy's face with the force of a freight train. But the villain was ready. In the blink of an eye, Daigo vanished in a shimmer of light, reappearing behind Endeavour with his blade already swinging.
Endeavour twisted mid-air, his flames flaring to life as he deflected the blade with a burst of heat. The clash sent shockwaves throughout the air, the ground cracking beneath them. Endeavour didn't let up. He pressed the attack, his flames surging as he unleashed a barrage of fireballs, each one aimed with deadly precision.
Proxy dodged and weaved, his movements unnaturally fast. He blinked from one place to another, 'save point', he heard him explaining to All Might, he left traps in the form of slashing attacks that were invisible save for the feint sheen of silver that glowed briefly.
He couldn't afford to hold back, not against someone like Proxy.
The fight was a blur of fire and steel, each clash more brutal than the last. Endeavour's flames scorched the ground, turning it into a battlefield that would eventually look like an inferno. The two combatants moved with inhuman speed, their attacks creating shockwaves that shattered the surrounding terrain.
Endeavour's flames roared as he unleashed a massive firestorm, the heat so intense it melted the ground beneath them. Proxy zapped out of harms way, reappearing above Endeavour with his blade poised to strike. Endeavour barely managed to dodge, the blade grazed his shoulder and drew blood. He retaliated with a fiery uppercut, the blow connected and the force of it sent Proxy flying.
Of course he wasn't done though. He landed on his feet, his blade glowing with energy, he plans on using the same attack he used on All Might.
A culmination of strong attacks absorbed by him and then unleashed.
A massive sword slash tore through the ground and travelled towards Endeavour. The hero crossed his arms, his flames forming a shield that was supposed to absorb some of the impact. The force of the blast sent him skidding backward, his boots digging into the ground.
Endeavour's body ached, his stamina draining with each passing second. But he couldn't stop. Not now. He charged forward, his flames condensing into a spear of pure fire. He thrust it toward Proxy, the heat so intense it warped the air around them.
Proxy teleported again, reappearing behind Endeavour with his blade aimed at the hero's back. Endeavour spun around, his flames erupting in a fiery explosion that forced Proxy to slide back and retreat. But the villain was relentless. He teleported again and again, each attack more precise, more deadly.
Endeavour's flames flickered, his body pushed to it's limits. He could feel the burns on his skin, the cuts and bruises that littered his body. But he didn't stop. He couldn't. Not while Proxy was still standing.
Proxy appeared in front of Endeavour, his blade thrust forward, glowing, and aimed at the hero's heart. Endeavour tried to dodge, but his body was too slow, too exhausted. The blade pierced his side, the pain searing through him like a white-hot flame.
Endeavour gasped, his flames flickering as he struggled to stay upright. Proxy leaned closer, his voice a cold whisper. "You're finished Endeavour. Just like All Might."
But before Proxy could deliver the final blow, a massive fist slammed into his chest, sending him flying across the battlefield. The force of the impact shattered the ground, sending debris flying in all directions.
Endeavour looked up, his vision blurred with pain. Standing over him, was All Might, his body battered and bloodied, but his eyes burning with defiance. His fist was still clenched, smoke rose from what he believed to be the impact.
"You're not... finishing this... alone," All Might said, his voice strained but resolute.
Proxy skidded to a stop, his body crashing through buildings as he was sent flying into the main section of the city. The impact created a massive crater, dust and debris filling the air.
Endeavour brought his flames flickering to life once more. "Took you long enough."
All Might extended a hand, helping Endeavour to his feet. The two heroes stood side by side, their eyes locked on the distant crater where Proxy had landed.
"Let's end this here and now. Plus Ultra!" All Might's voice was filled with a vengeance.
Endeavour nodded and his flames roared to life. "Here and Now!"

The air in the makeshift safe zone was thick with fear, there was an unnatural glow to it as well which they all thought was an effect of the fact they were in a fake version of the outside world. The once bustling campus of UA High now felt like a ghost town, the destruction followed them into this fake world.
Uraraka Ochaco sat on a cracked bench, her hands clasped tightly together as she tried to steady her breathing. Her chest felt heavy, her mind racing with thoughts of chaos that had unfolded just hours prior.
Beside her, Ashido Mina and Iida Tenya were deep in conversation, their voices low but urgent, their usual energy subdued by the gravity of the situation.
"Did you see the plane?" Ashido asked, her usual bubbly tone replaced by a somber seriousness. Her pink hair, usually so vibrant, seemed dull under the unnatural light of the game world. "It just... came out of nowhere. I've never seen anything like it."
Iida adjusted his glasses, his expression grim. His usual composed demeanour was frayed at the edges, his hands clenched into fists at his sides. "It was a calculated attack," he said, his tone was laced with anger. "The fact that someone could be so evil to plane an attack like that on us, it's terrifying. It's an attack on everything we are training for... on everything we stand for."
Uraraka nodded silently, her mind racing. The memory of the plane diving toward UA played on repeat in her head, the screams of her classmates echoing in her ears. She clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. "Some of out friends... they got hurt," she said softly, her voice trembling. "I saw Izuku...he got hit bad..."
She trailed off, unable to continue with that line of thought. The image of Midoriya, bloodied and broken, flashed in her mind. He'd been so close to the impact zone, shielding other's with his body while also trying to make it to his idol. Everything, this whole situation just made her chest tighten and leave a lump forming in her throat.
Ashido reached over, placing a reassuring hand on Uraraka's shoulder. "Hey, don't think like that," she said, her voice softer now. "Midoriya's tough. He's not going down that easily. None of us are."
Iida nodded in agreement, though his usual confident demeanour was tinged with worry. "We need to stay focused," he said, his tone firm but not unkind. "Right now, our priority is getting to the safe zone and regrouping. Once we're there, we can figure out our next move."
Uraraka took a deep breath, forcing herself to nod. "You're right," she said. "We can't afford to panic. Not now."
The three of them stood and began making there way toward the marked safe zone, their footsteps echoing in the eerie silence of the game world. The streets were deserted, the buildings around them crumbling to debris from the plane crash, it was a big plane that extended far outside UA's bounds due to All Might's intervention, although that may not have been a good thing.
As they walked Uraraka's mind wandered. She thought about Midoriya—Champion—and how he always seemed to find a way to push through no matter what. He'd been her friend, her inspiration, and now... now she didn't even know if he was alive. The thought made her chest tighten, but she pushed it aside. She couldn't afford to fall apart.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden buzz from her phone. She pulled it out, her eyes widening as she read the emergency message that had just been sent to the UA group chat that was made as soon as this incident happened, to help people regroup and find safe places.
Emergency Alert: The League of Villains has breached the UA safe zone. All students and non hero staff that have not yet arrived are advised to find alternative hiding locations. DO NOT RETURN TO THE UA SAFE ZONE. Targets for the League of Villains attack have been identified as hopeful kidnap victims: Bakugou Katsuki and Tokoyami Fumikage. Proceed with extreme caution!
Attached to the message were two pictures: One of Bakugou and the other of Tokoyami.
Uraraka's stomach churned as she stared at Bakugou's picture. She'd never liked him—not after finding out how he'd treated Midoriya when they were younger. The memory of being trapped in the last game from Proxy where she ran into some dummy that told her of his circumstances back then, she tracked him down again to make him tell her how bad it was since Midoriya feigned ignorance whenever she brought it up.
She didn't want to hurt him by bringing it up, but she just couldn't understand why someone like Midoriya would be a victim to bullying since he was such a nice person.
When she found out, she knew she was invading his privacy, but it made her blood boil. And then she started paying more attention to Midoriya... she seen what looked like fading burn marks that he would explain away as damage from his quirk when he awakened it.
That may have been true, but you couldn't hide a burn mark, especially with someone like Todoroki even acknowledging it as such.
She noticed how judgemental—not in a bad way—his mother was the first time she met her and some of his other friends, as though she were watching to make sure her boy hadn't ran into any more people that intended harm to him.
She noticed how he would flinch at certain points of his body, or if he were touched from behind with a tap on his shoulder.
The bullying he endured must have been great. And it made her wonder why his main bully even attempted to try and play hero. He just didn't seem suited for it.
The message never said that the villains were looking to kill him, so honestly she was almost tempted to completely follow through with the direct order, Bakugou Katsuki was not a good person in her eyes.
Even now, nearly an entire school year in, he is rude and looks at everyone as lesser than him, even those that call themselves his friends. It made her sick. If the villains had him, maybe he would show his true colours and join them, maybe he would never come back, maybe he would die....
She couldn't believe it. Her, Uraraka Ochaco was thinking such thoughts.
"They're after Blasty!" She heard Ashido squeal from her left, right, one of Bakugou's 'friends'.
Uraraka was stuck in her own mind again, she had already thought back on what she was thinking of previously as something wrong, horrific even, she knows that it is something Midoriya may even despise her for.
It's not something Midoriya would think, even to someone he hates... is supposed to hate anyway.
Midoriya wouldn't have wasted any time. He would already be on the move if he had seen that alert and was up and ready.
"Let's go!" she said.
Iida grabbed her shoulder as she started to move forward.
"Go where exactly?"
"You know exactly where Iida." Ashido said sternly. "We're getting Blasty and Tokoyami."
"No we are not!" Iida said loudly and with authority booming in his voice. He aimed to shut this down immediately so he cut in the conversation before a refute came. "I almost done it too, with Stain."
The two of them stopped and their eyes widened in shock.
"When I heard he attacked my brother, I was filled with rage and vengeance, I ignored my friends and the heroes. I went after him on my own and nearly died. And do you know who it was that saved me?"
They both shook their heads, ideas floated around but they couldn't give him an answer.
"It was Midoriya. He saved me, and I am eternally thankful for that moment. I placed him in unknown danger that could have easily killed him too yet he forgave me and showed me that I can still journey toward heroism. And that is by following the law of the land to the T." He glanced at Ashido and then to Uraraka. "I don't want the two of you to follow the same mistakes that I made."
There was a silence that ate away at the previously growing tension rising in them that rid any of their fear.
Uraraka raised her head and stared straight in Iida's cold eyes.
"Iida." he raised his head slightly in acknowledgement. "Izuku gave his life to save you. And I'm sure he would again, just as he would for Tokoyami and someone like Bakugou," that last part came out with venom. "I understand that you don't want us falling into a bad path like you did but we won't. We plan on going back and helping however we can, with the crash that happened there are already great number of people down, so I'm sure our help will at least be appreciated, and maybe we'll run into the other two before they get taken and lead them to safety while we let the heroes fight off the villains."
Iida had his head down, she could see his teeth clench, she could see the subtle shake he was giving, fumes raising from his exhaust. She seen Ashido tense in her peripheral.
Iida wanted so badly to say no, but there was also a part in him that was consuming him to try and follow along. To go back and see if his friends are safe, to fight off villains attacking innocents if need be, to be a hero like he had set out to.
Eventually, the shaking stopped, and he let out a deep breath and slowly raised his head.
"Alright." Ashido almost jumped but held herself still. "But we won't just jump in all willy nilly. We are going in with a plan, a plan for retrieval and nothing more. Leave the fighting to the heroes understand?"
Both of them nodded their heads.
"Good. Now let's go, We'll plan on our way there!"
