“Have you appealed the case?” Purple noticed there were two sets of court records.
Caitlin nodded, “Yes, but the verdict was upheld on the second trial.”
“The first lawyer was no good, didn’t give it his all. The second lawyer actually performed quite well, but unfortunately, the evidence wasn’t strong enough to persuade the jury.” After looking over the materials, Purple asked Caitlin, “May I make a copy to keep?”
“Of course,” Caitlin replied promptly, “Take it, Ms. Summers. I had these copies made for this purpose.”
While they were talking, suddenly there were two flashes outside the window.
Purple furrowed her brows and looked out the window. A car was parked at the roadside, and someone with a camera quickly pulled back inside the car and closed the window.
