Chapter 119: Senior Sister is Angry
Chapter 119: Senior Sister is Angry
“Where did this kid get such strength…?” Elder San murmured softly, glancing at Elder Wu beside her. “He’s already exhausted. Are you really going to challenge him tomorrow at Crimson Rainbow Peak?”
Elder Wu didn’t respond, turning to leave.
“Aren’t you afraid people will say you won unfairly?” Elder San frowned.
“Everyone expects Crimson Rainbow Peak to make a move. If I don’t act, wouldn’t people think Crimson Rainbow Peak is afraid?” Elder Wu said, his hands behind his back as he faced away from Elder San. “Don’t worry, Elder San. The spar will be fair.”
“Is it really so important to determine who’s stronger just because you’re both sword cultivators?”
“Precisely because we’re both sword cultivators, we must determine who’s stronger.”
With those words, Elder Wu flew off on his sword with his disciple, vanishing into the sea of clouds as the day’s events settled.
…
“Senior Sister?”
You Su was gently placed on his bed, and he softly called out to Heavenly Maiden Wangshu, who stood silently beside him.
Throughout the flight, including when Heavenly Maiden Wangshu carried him up the mountain, she had remained unusually silent, her presence tinged with a faint chill. You Su had called out to her many times, but she hadn’t responded once. This was a stark contrast to the senior sister who used to answer every question and fulfill every request.
This time, she still didn’t respond.
But she didn’t leave either, leaving the room in an awkward silence.
You Su couldn’t help but feel uneasy, unable to figure out what had caused his senior sister to become like this. He tried to open his eyes, but perhaps due to extreme exhaustion, it didn’t work. Even though he couldn’t see, the fluctuations in the spiritual energy around his senior sister conveyed her mood to him.
Normally, the spiritual energy around his senior sister flowed smoothly and naturally, as if the energy in the world harmonized effortlessly with her spirit platform. But now, it seemed to be resisting something, becoming tangled and chaotic, as if warning You Su’s spiritual sense:
“Don’t provoke her. She’s very upset right now!”
Lying in bed, You Su carefully recalled what could have upset his senior sister.
Was it Fairy Lu, who had “enforced the rules impartially”? She had negated his senior sister’s intention to protect her junior brother, turning her pure actions into a mistake and making her the “bad person” who ruined her junior brother’s efforts. This must have caused his senior sister to fall into self-blame and unhappiness.
You Su thought this was the most likely reason.
“Senior Sister, I still won in the end. Don’t take Fairy Lu’s words to heart. Winning or losing isn’t important. In fact, I’m very grateful that you care so much about me. To be honest, I’m quite touched.”
“What does ‘touched’ mean?” His senior sister finally spoke, but her voice was colder than before.
“It means feeling both happy and uneasy because of someone’s care,” You Su explained gently. It seemed his senior sister’s cultural knowledge wasn’t very high.
“Why are you uneasy?”
“I’m uneasy… because I don’t know how to repay you.”
“Is that really what you think?” Heavenly Maiden Wangshu’s tone softened slightly.
“Of course!” You Su said firmly.
Heavenly Maiden Wangshu’s blue eyes deepened as she stared at You Su for a moment before slightly turning her gaze away. The spiritual energy around her became even more chaotic!
You Su noticed this subtle change, and his heart sank. His senior sister had always seemed as pure as crystal to him, a simple person. Why was she getting angrier the more he tried to comfort her?
Feeling anxious and with his spiritual energy nearly depleted, You Su began to cough violently.
Heavenly Maiden Wangshu immediately dropped her cold demeanor and rushed over, placing her hand on You Su’s abdomen and channeling a steady stream of spiritual energy into him.
Although others’ spiritual energy couldn’t be used directly, it could at least alleviate the immediate crisis, soothing the meridians that had grown accustomed to the presence of spiritual energy.
You Su felt his senior sister’s actions and was warmed by them, even though her hand was on him, her head was still turned away, clearly still angry.
You Su’s thoughts raced, and he suddenly realized something. If Fairy Lu had upset his senior sister, why had she taken a few steps back when he stood in front of her?
Then it struck him—the one who had upset his senior sister was none other than himself.
After much thought, You Su couldn’t figure out what he had done wrong to make his senior sister unhappy. He decided to stop overthinking and asked directly:
“Senior Sister, I’m sorry. I’m too foolish to understand what I did wrong to upset you.”
Heavenly Maiden Wangshu turned her head, looking at You Su’s sincere face, then lowered her gaze and stammered:
“If you think I’m good to you, why did you yell at me?”
?
You Su reviewed all his conversations with his senior sister. The only thing that could be considered “yelling at her” was probably the words he had shouted on the arena today—”Don’t come!”
So that was why his senior sister was upset…
“This is my first time having a junior brother, and no one taught me how to be a senior sister… If I did something wrong, you can teach me, but please don’t yell at me like that again…”
“I… I don’t want to be yelled at by my junior brother.”
To be honest, You Su had absolutely no intention of yelling at or blaming his senior sister. At that moment, he had been so focused on the battle and unwilling to lose that he didn’t want anyone to interrupt. In the heat of the moment, he hadn’t even realized who was coming to his aid and had shouted out of instinct.
He hadn’t expected his senior sister to be so sensitive, becoming upset for so long just because of an unintentional harsh word from her junior brother.
You Su was speechless for a while. He didn’t want to label his senior sister’s sensitivity as being overly delicate or naive. Instead, he saw it as a sign of how much she valued his opinion.
He once again felt fortunate to have the sincere affection of this lonely girl at the mountain peak. He silently vowed to protect her pure heart.
“Senior Sister, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to. It was just too urgent at the time, and I wasn’t deliberately yelling at you,” You Su said, his voice warm like a spring. “I swear, I’ll never yell at you again.”
“Mm!” Heavenly Maiden Wangshu nodded vigorously. “Junior Brother is so good.”
As her mood improved, the spiritual energy around her also returned to normal, as if rejoicing in her change.
You Su felt her hand on his abdomen, cool to the touch, but the spiritual energy flowing in was warm and soothing, bringing him comfort.
“Senior Sister is the one who’s truly good.”
You Su smiled helplessly, touched by his senior sister’s simplicity. Even though she had been silently upset the entire way, a simple apology from him had immediately lifted her spirits. It was as if she hadn’t been truly angry, just like a child pretending to be upset to tell him—”I’m unhappy, comfort me.”
His adorable senior sister, his kind Master’s wife, and his beloved junior sister who had yet to return—You Su was determined to stay on Lotus Peak.
Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but feel a bit worried. Today’s spar had far exceeded the usual level, and although he had delivered a shocking performance, his body was on the verge of collapse.
Even though the robust physique granted by the Tai Sui meat bore no deep external wounds, the depletion of spiritual energy would take time to recover. If someone challenged him again tomorrow, how would he handle it?
