Chapter 1: Extreme Power System
Welcome!
The Extreme Power System is pleased to accompany the host on his journey through this world of cultivation.
Name: Gabriel
Cultivation Level: 7th Layer of Qi Condensation
Power Boost: 51/1,000
Gabriel stared at the glowing text before him, his mind clouded with confusion.
"What the hell...?" He muttered, looking around blankly. The last thing he remembered was a loud noise—then nothing but darkness.
"Did I... die?" His breath hitched as realization struck. "No way. Is this... transmigration? So it was real after all?"
In his past life, he had devoured countless novels about people being reborn in other worlds. But never in his wildest dreams did he think it could happen to him.
Just as he was trying to process everything, a sharp pain lanced through his skull. Gabriel groaned, clutching his head as an onslaught of unfamiliar memories flooded his mind.
This body's name was also Gabriel—an orphan who had been taken in by a sect. He possessed A-grade cultivation talent and had impressively reached the 7th layer of Qi Condensation in just two years!
"Then... who am I? Am I Gabriel from Earth, or Gabriel the orphan?"
The question gnawed at him. After several moments of deep contemplation, he came to a conclusion—he was both. The two souls must have merged into one.
Steadying himself, he walked over to a mirror. The reflection staring back at him made his breath hitch.
"Wow..." His eyes widened in admiration. "This Gabriel is way more handsome than the me from Earth!"
His previous body had been overweight, something he had always been insecure about. He had even started taking weight-loss pills before his untimely death. But this Gabriel?
He was tall, lean, and powerful—his muscles well-defined, his features sharp yet undeniably handsome. His jet-black hair framed his chiseled face, and his brown eyes held an intensity that could make ordinary people avert their gaze. His skin was lightly tanned, and his entire physique radiated strength.
"Oh, right... This Gabriel was a body refiner before joining the sect," he realized. "He trained at Sky City's Martial Arts Training Center before being accepted into the sect at fifteen. That means I should be seventeen now! Damn, I'm ridiculously tall and muscular for my age!"
He couldn't help but admire himself.

"Huh?" Gabriel froze.
"Wait... Why did I just get points?" A crazy thought crossed his mind.
Turning back to the mirror, he once again admired his physique, flexing slightly.
"Damn, what an amazing body!"
Ding! Power Boost Points+4!
His eyes widened.
"...No way."
Could it be...?
"What a handsome body!"
Ding! Power Boost Points +3!
"Damn, it's true!" Gabriel's eyes widened in realization. He was now certain that the points came because he praised his own physique.
"Does it only apply to me? Will I only get points if I praise myself? Or can I get points if someone else praises me?" He thought, a critical question forming in his mind.
"I need to test this immediately!" Without hesitation, he quickly dressed and rushed out of the room.
...
Sky City's Immortal Cultivation Sect was a behemoth, holding a monopoly over all the talented individuals born within the city. The sect was massive, with its leader at the Nascent Soul level, famed for his protection of the sect's disciples.
The sect accepted disciples from two sources: one was from noble families, and the other was from the general population.
Noble families had the privilege of sending their talented children to the sect from a very young age, giving them a considerable head start over other children. Of course, this advantage wasn't free—noble families contributed vast amounts of resources to the sect in exchange for their children's early acceptance.
For children from ordinary families, life was much harder. They had no backing and had to work tirelessly for everything. They also started their journey later, at the age of 15, which put them at a disadvantage from the very beginning.
The starting age for cultivation was 15, and the noble children who entered the sect at a young age couldn't begin their training until they reached 15. However, during the intervening years, they were taught the basics of the cultivation world—fundamental techniques, common knowledge, and more. By the time they were old enough to cultivate, they had a much clearer understanding of their future path.
Time was a precious commodity in the cultivation world. If one didn't reach Foundation Establishment by the age of 25, they would lose forever the opportunity to enter the Inner Sect. The head start the noble children had meant that far more of them would succeed in reaching that milestone.
Being an Inner Sect disciple came with numerous advantages, including the ability to vote on the sect's leadership.
Though the percentage of noble children who entered the Inner Sect was much higher, the number of children from ordinary families was far greater. In the end, the number of Inner Sect disciples from noble families and from ordinary families was roughly balanced.
Gabriel was an Outer Sect disciple with a promising future. He had reached the 7th layer of Qi Condensation by the age of 17, which meant he had an excellent chance of breaking through to Foundation Building before the age of 25. As such, most of the people in the Outer Sect had good relations with him.
Curious about whether being praised by others would also grant him Power Boost Points, Gabriel knew exactly where to go to test his theory.
Each Outer Sect disciple had their own private living quarters. There was no division between male and female quarters, so Gabriel didn't have to walk far to find a potential test subject.
He approached the door, raised his hand, and knocked.
A moment later, the door creaked open, revealing a girl with an ordinary face and appearance. Her eyes widened in surprise as she looked up at Gabriel.
Her name was Julia—a commoner with D-grade cultivation talent, two levels below Gabriel's. She had only reached the 3rd level of Qi Condensation, despite entering the Outer Sect at the same time as him. Her chances of entering the Inner Sect were slim.
"Gabriel?" she stammered, her face flushing at the sight of him.
Julia's heart skipped a beat by just looking at him. She had harbored a secret crush on him ever since they first met. It was easy to understand why. A young man of the same age, tall, handsome, muscular, and exceptionally talented. Many of the girls in the Outer Sect had similar feelings, though they kept them hidden.
At first, Gabriel had completely ignored her, focused solely on his cultivation. But now, with the System urging him to seek praise, he saw an opportunity.

The system prompt made Gabriel smile to himself. "Oh my god... It's going to be so easy to gather enough points to unlock a power boost!"
Julia, on the other hand, blushed even deeper at the sight of his smile.

Clearing his throat, Gabriel spoke. "Julia, I've been training alone and... I felt a little lonely. How about we head to the training ground and practice together?"
Julia's eyes sparkled. "Just a minute, let me grab my training clothes!" she said without hesitation. She wasn't about to miss out on this opportunity.
...
Even though the sect primarily focused on cultivating immortality, there was still a physical training ground.
For Julia, being a D-grade talent, she had to cultivate around the clock to have any hope of entering the Inner Sect. Physical training seemed like a waste of time, but she wasn't about to pass up the chance to spend time with Gabriel.
While entering the Inner Sect was the obvious goal, there were other ways to rise through the ranks. If she could capture Gabriel's heart, a talented man with such a bright future, she could follow in his footsteps and achieve greatness. At least, that was how she convinced herself. In truth, she simply couldn't resist her feelings for him.
The training ground was relatively quiet, with only a few boys scattered around, training in silence. No girls were around, except for Julia, who followed Gabriel closely behind.
The training grounds for the Inner and Outer Sect were separated. In the Outer Sect, only those whose cultivation techniques relied heavily on physical training came here. It was a small group, as very few cultivation techniques at the Qi Condensation level demanded such strenuous physical requirements.
Most disciples in the Outer Sect were focused on breaking through to Foundation Establishment as quickly as possible. Physical training was something they could focus on once they entered the Inner Sect.
The few people present in the training ground glanced up at Gabriel as he walked by.

"Are all these guys... admiring me?" Gabriel thought, puzzled. Julia's admiration made sense; she had a crush on him. But the boys? It was hard to believe they were admiring him, especially considering the envy they'd shown toward him in the past.
"Maybe it's not just admiration," he mused, "maybe any emotion toward me counts?"
To test his theory, Gabriel quickly spotted someone in the crowd.
His name was Vincent, a commoner with E-grade talent, the lowest grade that barely qualified him for admission to the Outer Sect.
Vincent's technique was unique in that it required an exceptionally powerful physique.
However, his physical training talent was also poor, and despite his constant efforts in the training hall, his physical abilities were still far behind Gabriel's. As for his cultivation, despite being in the Outer Sect for three years, Vincent had barely reached the peak of the 2nd layer of Qi Condensation.
What made Vincent different from others, though, was his intense envy of anyone with better talent.
He made no effort to hide it, especially when it came to Gabriel—the most talented among them. Vincent had even spread nasty rumors about him.
Back then, Gabriel hadn't cared. But the new Gabriel, the one with the Extreme Power System, wasn't going to let it slide.
He walked up to Vincent with a cold smile. "Hey, idiot. Was it you who spread that nonsense about me taking advantage of Master Natalie?"
Master Natalie was a Foundation Establishment cultivator and the deputy director of the Outer Sect. She was known for her mild temperament, which was the only reason Vincent hadn't already been thrown out. If he had spread such rumors about anyone else in the Outer Sect management, the best he could have hoped for was immediate expulsion.
Of course, even though Vincent was certain to be behind the rumors, taking action against him would require a formal investigation. Master Natalie refused to waste time going after someone like Vincent, who had little chance of ever breaking through to Foundation Establishment.
Vincent stared at Gabriel, his eyes wide with feigned innocence. "What? How would I dare?"
Though Vincent was a loathsome person, he didn't dare to openly admit it.

"It really works!" Gabriel thought with a grin. "Hatred brings points too!"
Without hesitation, Gabriel raised his hand and slapped Vincent on his right cheek. It was so fast that Vincent barely saw it coming, let alone had a chance to dodge.
Gabriel's physical and cultivation talents were both extraordinary. Even though he trained far less than Vincent, his strength far outpaced him.
The sound echoed through the entire training ground, causing everyone to stop and glance over.

"Hahaha, why are you still here? Go back to your village already! You've got no chance at all!" Gabriel taunted, watching Vincent clutch his red cheek in astonishment. He had never expected Gabriel to be so brazen.

"This Vincent is a goldmine for Power Boost Points!" Gabriel thought, his grin widening as he decided to keep going.
He took a step forward and slapped Vincent's left cheek.

The slap was loud, causing the onlookers to take notice again, but it wasn't as forceful as the first one. Vincent's cheek turned red, but he wasn't seriously injured.
"You... I'll tell the Punishment Hall!" Vincent cried out, his voice trembling. He knew he stood no chance against Gabriel, so he dared not fight back.
"Oh yeah?" Gabriel sneered. "Everyone in management already knows you've offended Master Natalie. If you go to the Punishment Hall, they'll slap you around and toss you out!"
Though the sect was known for its fairness, there were always a few disciples who had offended others and were heavily stigmatized for it.

Gabriel frowned. "Why are the points getting less and less? Is there a limit on how much I can get from each person?" he wondered.
To test his theory, Gabriel slapped Vincent again on his right cheek. This time, Vincent couldn't hold back his tears. He openly cried in front of everyone, his eyes filled with pure hatred as he glared at Gabriel.
Ding! Power Boost Points +5!
Gabriel sighed. "He's looking at me with so much hate, yet I only get 5 points?"
Clearly, there was a limit to how much he could extract from a single person.
"Let's go, Julia!" he said, turning away from Vincent.
Julia, who had been watching from the back in stunned silence, nodded. She had never seen this side of Gabriel before.
Vincent wasn't exactly popular with anyone, so Gabriel beating him didn't bother her. But still, in her heart, she hadn't expected Gabriel to be so ruthless.
"I should get to know him better," she thought, a new curiosity stirring in her.
Unfortunately for Julia, after about half an hour of training, Gabriel suddenly declared it was enough and left, leaving her standing there, wondering what she had done wrong.
