Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 316: Making A Deal With The Angel

The threat of Death.

Until now, Neo couldn't kill the Angel.

Only angels or gods could kill other angels.

Neo was neither a god nor an angel.

But he had awakened World Energy.

He was a God Slayer now.

'You think I'm afraid of death?'

"Maybe, maybe not," Neo said. "Shall we find out?"

Neo raised his sword.

The crimson glow of his broken body intensified as arcs of red lightning crackled around him.

Divine Swordsmanship Seventh Form: Tenraizen

A white slash shot out from the sword, radiant and devastating.

It split apart the ground, causing the world to shake violently.

The air churned, and the ashen white clouds were bisected, revealing the deep, endless void beyond.

The Angel roared in pain.

The maggots twisted and writhed as the World Energy gnawed at its insides.

Its cries echoed like thunder, reverberating through the shattered landscape.

"Stop crying. You won't die from this," Neo said.

A green glow covered Neo's hands as he summoned the healing ability of blessing.

The faint light contrasted with the harsh, destructive energy surrounding him.

He fused his blessing's healing abilities into his Intent and transferred it into the Angel.

The Angel's grotesque form shuddered as the injuries began to mend.

'W-what are you doing?' the Angel gasped, its voice trembling with confusion and pain.

"I told you," Neo said. "You won't die from this."

Neo let out another monstrously powerful attack.

The sheer force of the strike tore apart millions of writhing maggots.

Their shrieks filled the air as they dissolved into glowing ash.

After injuring the Angel, Neo healed it again.

"I'll bring you to the verge of death, heal you again, bring you to the verge of death, and heal you again," Neo declared.

His body, already breaking apart, showed no signs of slowing down as he ignored the pain and slashed again.

"I've been going through the same for countless times. As your senior, I'll give you an advice." Neo's smirked. "Get used to pain. It won't end."

'W-why are you doing this? Just kill me if you want to!'

The Angel's voice was breaking from pain.

Neo didn't answer.

His cold, piercing eyes stared down at the Angel.

The Angel began to laugh.

It suppressed the tremors in its voice, forcing itself to laugh louder to deny Neo the satisfaction of its suffering.

'You want to torture me? Go ahead.'

'You'll die soon. I can handle a bit of pain until then.'

"I think you are misunderstanding something."

Neo shook his head, noticing the Angel's high and mighty attitude even in its weakened state.

"I'm not asking for help. I'm giving you a chance. Tell me what I want, and I'll save you."

'Save me from what? Yourself?'

"Time and Outer Gods."

'…'

The Angel's expression would have contorted if it had a face.

Its form shifted angrily.

It glared at Neo as it roared.

'Don't overestimate yourself! You will defeat Outer Gods?'

'You!?'

'You might be an Ascender, but you barely defeated me!'

Neo's words had touched it's nerve.

'I'm part of the lowest-ranking angels of the Outer God Azthulon. I'm just a scout for the main forces!'

'You barely defeated the weakest enemy!'

'Yet you think you can defeat The Outer Gods?!'

"I might not be able to use my powers properly yet. But I'm still an Ascender."

Neo shrugged.

"I do have the potential to kill Outer Gods."

He clicked his tongue when the Angel showed no signs of compromise.

"Look here. I'm sure you can see that guy standing behind me."

The Angel nodded reluctantly.

It could see Professor Daniel, despite the fact that it shouldn't be able to.

The corrupted time elementals surrounding Professor Daniel weakened his presence, reducing him to a faint outline that shimmered like a mirage in the air.

"That guy is from the future, and he can remember the past I'm changing.

"Do you know what that means?

"I saved the world.

"I don't know how yet. But I was able to give him the upgraded version of the World Time Spell."

Neo continued,

"If you don't give me what I'm asking for, I will ask Professor Daniel to tell me the upgraded World Time Spell.

"Then I'll give that Spell to the people of the past," Neo said.

'Do that then. Why are you asking for my help?'

The Angel scoffed in a voice dripping with disdain.

If Neo did what he was saying, it would create another paradox.

Adding another paradox would increase the time erosion working on Neo.

He might be erased instantly instead of slowly.

'There is no way you'll ask him—'

The Angel froze as Neo turned around to ask for the Spell from Professor Daniel.

'What are you doing?'

'Don't tell me you'll actually ask him.'

Neo's feet didn't stop.

The Angel recalled who Neo was.

A crazy bastard who kept fighting for thousands of years despite having no hope of victory.

A mad lad who didn't escape despite having the strength to do so and instead fought an infinitely powerful entity.

Neo would do it.

He would ask Professor Daniel for the Spell even if it created a paradox again.

He was crazy enough to do it.

'Stop!' The Angel shouted. 'I'll help you!'

Neo let out a faint smile as he turned to look at the Angel.

"Why the change of mind?" Neo asked.

'I'll help you, but one condition.'

"That is?"

'Save me.'

The Angel felt stupid for saying it.

Neo was going to save the past.

The Angel and Neo would get erased along with the 'present' by Time as a result.

Neo would die himself too.

His body was breaking apart.

There was no way Neo could save both of them.

Yet the Angel trusted Neo.

Because he was a monster who turned around a guaranteed defeat into a victory.

He had done the impossible.

"Sure, I can do that," Neo answered.

There was no hesitation in his voice.

The Angel was baffled, and it laughed bitterly.

'I'm crazy for thinking you can actually save us both.'

Neo had a single reason for agreeing to save the Angel.

Knowledge.

He needed information about Outer Gods and the cosmos.

Earth might have some information, but it was definitely not comparable to the wealth of knowledge the Angel had.

The Angel began telling Neo about how to upgrade the World Time Spell.

The surroundings grew quieter.

The howling wind subsiding as the Angel's voice resonated through the fragmented space.

The Angel had seen the Spell when it descended.

It had understood how the Spell worked.

With its knowledge, it could tweak the Spell to make it compatible with the corrupted Time elementals.

After listening to the Angel's explanation, Neo's gaze remained fixed on it.

He asked one last thing.

"There is something I'm curious about."

'I'm listening,' the Angel replied.

"How did you defeat Dad? Don't take it the wrong way, but you were right, you are weak."

Neo's tone was matter-of-fact.

"Three Paragons are enough to crush you.

"Underworld had thousands of Paragons and hundreds of Exalted Awakeners and Demigods."

"Even Dad was there, and he was a god."

'That 5th stage Godhood guy was your Dad?'
