Chapter 199: I Have Better Things to do

The system's voice then echoed in Akun's head, [Enslavement successful.]

Once the purple chain disappeared, the Dryad queen coughed a little. Princess Rinalef rushed over to her side, mumbling, "Are you okay?"

Enraged, the queen gritted her teeth as she got off the bed and stood up. Her narrowed gaze directed at Akun as she yelled, "How dare you! What did you do to me? State your name right this instant!" She pointed her right hand at Akun, then gazed around the room and saw the Dryad elders in a rather peculiar state, prompting her to add, "And what have you done to my elders?

I demand that you free them immidatly."

Rinalef quickly stood up and brought down her mother's hand she was using to point at Akun. She wore a slightly terrified and worried expression, cautioning her mother, "Mother, stop. This person is not someone we should mess with. He is far more powerful than all the elders combined, and if he wanted to, he could easily eradicate the entire tribe. So, stop, please."

Akun then gazed at the Dryad queen and princess momentarily. He then redirected his gaze to the elders, glancing at Elder Thalanor, who was close to the door, and then at Aelorin, Sylara, and Nyressa, who were close to the Dryad queen but frozen in place, forced to their knees.

Akun then mumbled, "Now that this is over with, why don't I teach you four a lesson you will never forget?" His eyes shone brightly as he added, "But as much as I'd love to see you all writhe in agony for daring to go against me, I have more important matters to attend to.

So, I'll punish you all later, but first." Akun glanced at the Dryad king as he spoke, "Come forth, Chrono Nexus." His voice seemed to echo through the very fabric of reality.

Suddenly, a crack in reality appeared beside Akun. As if the cracks shattered to reveal some sort of golden library, a woman stepped out. Her features marked by her yellow hair, golden armor, white dress, and cosmic-looking eyes—it was Chrono Nexus, the goddess of time.

Upon laying their eyes on her, all the Dryad elders collectively mused inwardly, "Wait, this presence, it's a god."

Time seemed to slow down as Chrono Nexus, the goddess of time, walked gracefully towards Akun. Her hair flowed like liquid gold, and an unmistakable aura of charisma and power surrounded her, demanding respect. The mere presence of this divine being compelled both the princess and the queen to fall to their knees in fearful reverence.

Among the Dryad elders, a sense of concern surged. They believed Akun might be in danger, and just as they were about to call out to him, warning of the sudden appearance of the goddess, a perplexing turn of events unfolded.

Blushing slightly, Chrono Nexus diverted her gaze elsewhere and delicately held her hands together. With a shy tone, she murmured, "Master, you called."

The bewildering interaction between Chrono Nexus and Akun left the Dryad elders in a state of utter shock, their jaws dropping in unison. Inwardly, a collective murmur echoed among them, questioning the peculiarities of the goddess's voice, the expressions she wore, and the unprecedented use of the term "master." Akun, seemingly unfazed by the unusual behavior, pointed towards the Dryad king. "You see that man over there?" he inquired. "I want you to freeze time around him and keep him in the library of time and existence. Do you think you can do that for me?"

Chrono Nexus blushed, her hands delicately held against her cheeks. "Anything for you, master," she replied with a tone that seemed to oscillate between reverence and shyness.

The unexpected response from the goddess also perplexed Akun, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the room. The scene unfolded like a mysterious tapestry, leaving the Dryad elders and even Akun himself grappling with the enigmatic nature of Chrono Nexus's actions.

Upon hearing Akun's directive, the queen erupted in a passionate yell, her voice echoing through the room, "Taking away my husband, and you think I'll just sit here and allow that?"

Chrono Nexus, who initially exuded an aura of shy compliance, underwent a drastic transformation at the queen's outburst. Her tone turned resolute, and her demeanor shifted to one of unwavering authority. "Are you going against my master's wishes?" she questioned the queen with an intense glare that froze her with fear.

The queen, caught off guard by the sudden change in Chrono Nexus's tone, began to stutter nervously, "Oh, goddess, surely you won't listen to the words of a mere mortal."

In response, Chrono Nexus delivered a firm and unexpected revelation, "That mortal is my master." The weight of her words hung in the air, leaving the room enveloped in a charged atmosphere of divine authority and mortal vulnerability.

Akun's voice echoed through the room, cutting through the tension, as he replied with a commanding tone, "Enough." His words acted like an unseen force, freezing the Dryad queen in place. He continued, "Chrono, be quick with what I told you to do and be on your way."

Suddenly, Chrono Nexus blushed, her delicate hands finding their way to her cheeks. "Master, you only called me by my first name, meaning I'm close to you, right?"

Akun's inner thoughts churned with confusion. "What the hell is wrong with her?" he mused inwardly. "She wasn't like this when we fought. It's like she went crazy overnight. How can someone change this drastically?" Breaking from his contemplation, Akun spoke with a serious tone, "I don't want to spend any more time here, so I would appreciate it if you behaved yourself."

Acknowledging Akun's seriousness, Chrono Nexus composed herself. "I'll be done with it right away," she assured. Proceeding with her task, she manipulated time, freezing it around the Dryad king. His body hovered into the air, following her as she gracefully headed back into the library. The crack sealed back up, leaving the room in a strange mix of residual tension and eerie calm.
