Eternal Cultivation: The rise to a Silent Peak

Chapter 9: Problems Arisen

"The Heavenly Union Sect is a Sect founded by Lord Zhao Baohua, He's my master and personal teacher since I'm a core disciple."

I listened in, I knew sects existed and they were practically a jackpot for cultivating faster. If I could get into one then I'd be set to reach the top. Looking at Ying I would've smiled though I had a memory of something, about demonic humans and their abilities to curse someone, it depends on how strong the person is but the curses varies from inconvenient to life destroying, one such being the ability to seal someones cultivation.

"Shang! Come on and listen to me-"

I covered her mouth with a finger and sighed. With the usage of Telepathy I spoke to her asking something I didn't want to believe but I thought had happened to me.

["I Need to ask this, you looked extremely shocked when I beat you in battle and that I could Cultivate... Though it wasn't in any good manner, so tell me, Do you know something which I don't?"]

She stared at me, a eerie silence as the only thing that occurred was us breathing, she had not blinked at all, for how long she was silent I thought she wasn't going to answer.

"Yes... My father had told me that he could sense the fact you were cursed since birth, He doesn't know who did it but they seemed to fear the fact you were going to be born into this world. Another thing is your inability to speak wasn't a natural thing, it was also a curse, they had layered the curse multiple times to the point you wouldn't be able to speak unless you got rid of every single curse."

I was stunned for a second, I had to process something like this in such a short amount of time. Hearing the fact this person had cursed me all because of fear, but I thought I was from some random family, one which wasn't even high in status.

I got up looking at Ying and sighed, I had a goal now, I needed to find this person, but before that I had too get strong enough to get to their level. I knew they weren't weak in the slightest but I didn't know why they would choose to seal my power instead of simply wiping out my family. It felt like they were planning my meeting with them.

"Shang...? I'm sorry I didn't tell you this, I- I just didn't have the courage to admit something like th-"

I went down and hugged Ying for telling me this, Though before she could hug back I moved away and went walking in which Ying quickly followed-

"Please don't be mad at me, I'm sorry-"

["It's fine Ying, I'm just confused why they blocked my Cultivation considering I'm from a family which barely has any status, But I ask could you take me to this sect of yours? I want to join it."]

"I- At least you aren't mad- Alright come with me, It'll be a long way there but it'll be worth it don't worry-"

"Shang!"

It was Qing running up to me as she saw me, I guess she could recognize me considering I still had the same physical body as before which is something she had seen first and not my original scrawny self.

I could hear an explosion nearby as Ying reacted with her taking out her sword so I could only guess it was something bad, Qing had looked over as well so I couldn't ignore something like this. Even if it wasn't my problem I should deal with something which might harm my family.

"We should go check- Shang? Wait for me!!"

Ying shouted at me as I ran off towards the explosion at my full speed, I looked back seeing Qing and Ying going at the same pace getting farther from me due to how much slower they were. Finally reaching the explosion I noticed some sort of book, it had a lock on it as people were trying to pick it up with all their power and yet were unable to even move it.

The cracks on the ground spread further as I noticed a quest showing up because of this.

[Use Qi to get the book and find out who sent it here.]

[Time Limit: 3 days]

[Reward: Qi Forging technique and Qi Condensing Pills]

[Failure: Tribulation]

I went to the book and looked down, People had already tried using Qi to lift it up but that wasn't what my quest specified so I could already rule that out. The others here didn't know that so I couldn't blame them. Bending down I put my hand onto the book covering it with Qi and then trying to lift it up, seeing it that didn't work Instead I had injected Qi directly into the lock.

"Shang, You shouldn't just run off without warning us..."

Ying saw the book open as It floated up into the sky as I could see the clouds spread apart with a shower of golden light, one which beamed down around me and the book. I thought it was going to hurt me, but instead It was the opposite, any sort of stamina draining I had along with injuries and pain seemed to alleviate from it as Information flooded my mind.

A technique one so ancient it was forgotten by all. A technique to forge weapons out of thin air, something which people nowadays thought was impossible. Finally the light stopped shining as a tiny crater was in place of where the book was with people surrounding the area.

Before any more came to the place I would've walked up to Qing and Ying signing for her to continue taking me to the Sect. Ying complied with Qing for some reason following us, Maybe it was because she wanted to join too so I didn't pay it any mind. I did get word that people were looking for me while passing a messenger from the Sect to the Jianshi Kingdom.

"Before we get there I'll tell you this, you need to pass an Exam, with your Cultivation level I think you'd become an Inner disciple, while with her she'd be an Outer Disciple. They're strict but aren't that strict compared to smaller sects. Though I'll give you a tip that you can't speak since there is a section where you call out your answers on it- AGCHHK!!"

I stopped just in time reacting to the giant rock falling on Ying. She hit the ground as I could hear cracking. Seeing the sect was nearby I would've lifted her up running as fast as I could, for a moment I felt air itself rip apart, I couldn't hear anything, at least for a few seconds as sound itself was delayed, in that moment I heard a boom, the ground would crackle as I reached the entrance in a near instant as I came to a screeching halt.

"State your name!"

I said nothing and just held out Ying to them, for a moment they looked confused but only then would a string appear, it was glowing green as it wrapped around her body along with mine soon dragging me and Ying into the Sect as I was taken too some sort of room while she was being taken somewhere else. I hit the wall as I looked up seeing a man standing with a smile.

"Looks like you came here while holding my girl... You deserve punishment young man!"

I looked up at the person with a confused look, his brown hair reaching his shoulders with his clothes looking royal. He held what looked like a sword. I got up while looking at him extremely wary considering he took me here. His cultivation was also in the next realm past mine so I knew I couldn't beat him.

[Quest Completed]

[Would you like to use A Qi Condensing pill?]

I would've accepted using one though the feeling was painful, my body burning up as my Qi cam cascading down onto my legs, a condensed state which tasted like metal, my eyes a calm frenzy of flames, it engulfed my body but I endured the painful torment. It was merely a way of going to a higher level of cultivation. And if I couldn't handle something like this then I would not be worthy of going farther.

"Oh... It seems your reaching the next realm, how fun... But you put your hand on my woman therefore you must die!"

I felt the blade hit my hand as I held it up to stop his slash, a clang rang through the room as I was hyper aware of the small cut, every single bit of it felt unbearable. My senses were going haywire with the amount of Qi flowing inside of it, but at least my eyes were no longer burning. I gave a snarky smile staring at him as he went for another slash-
