Epic of Ice Dragon: Reborn As An Ice Dragon With A System

RUMBLE!

The entire crust of the continent of Muspelheim shook, a continent so large it was almost as large as Planet Earth. In fact, within Yggdrasil, every single continent was a mega continent of immense size, as each one of them was once a Realm of its own, a self-contained world that ended merging together into what know is known as Yggdrasil.

Because of its immense size, and an even larger underground area, Muspelheim, and perhaps every continent, would take an immense amount of force to even shatter, and yet, the battle between the Venerable and Surtr was enough to even shake the crust of the mega continent, and awaken the beasts sealed underground.

Yes, tens of thousands, if not millions of divine monsters emerged from the massive cracks spread out everywhere, the weakest of them were Rank 7, the strongest Rank 10! Angered because their homes were wrecked in such a huge battle, they emerged onto the surface like berserk monstrosities, aiming to take down anything in their path until their wrath could be satiated.

"So many monsters…!" Surtr was shocked as he glanced at the scene from atop a hill, where he ended up landing and defeating the Venerable once and for all. "Is this the little gift this bastard left for me? If these things are left unchecked, they could overrun the entire continent…!"

Surtr knew that the continent of Muspelheim has seen better days, the population compared to what it once was had become much smaller as a result of the many wars and the destruction that the Venerable caused in the past.

However, he still knew that there were a couple dozen villages spread through the continent, most of them surviving within large mountain ranges, where the Fire Titans sought refuge, found ores, and also water stored inside.

Ancient Kingdoms were mostly gone, and the only lasting Empire, where the Flame Emperor belonged to, was most likely gone now after his death and that of his entire army and generals.

Nonetheless, there were still a couple million people spread through the continent, enough to put Surtr into alarm, if these monsters spread everywhere in their raging rampage, eventually, every village and mountain would get crushed and flattened by their anger.

Ultimately, the entire continent would get wiped out and it would all be forced to start again! It was a Monster Tide like nothing ever seen before.

"I still remember when I was younger, Monster Tides were commonplace even in our mountain village," sighed Surtr. "And now there's another one, perhaps the deadliest of them all… I cannot let them destroy what little is left of the people of this continent. The Fire Giants have suffered so much, they've gone through enough…"

Surtr knew that he wasn't just the King of Fire Dragons, but a guardian of all Fire Giants as an extension of becoming a protector of this continent, and also after becoming the husband of two Fire Giants. They were now his family, his people. Even if he was a fire dragon, the fire giants were the mortals he felt he had to protect, it was now his responsibility, a heavy one at that.

"Then I'll get going."

RUMBLE!

The shook the ground, kicking it and shattering it apart, making the entire cliff collapse into a pile of gigantic boulders. Thankfully there wasn't anybody nearby.

He flew as fast as possible, seeing Drake and Pandemonium clashing above the skies. The two were almost evenly matched, and it seemed Drake as rapidly gaining the upper hand.

"Master, keep going, I know you can do it! Forgive me, but I cannot go help you right now, I must protect the continent from the monster tide!"

Surtr sent Drake a telepathic message as Drake stopped the deadly claws of Pandemonium with his enhanced and evolved mechanical armor, while using the shield of Tiamat's scale too.

"Don't worry about me, Surtr! I can handle this much on my own! Please help everyone out! Now that you're a Venerable, I can rely on your strength! You're no longer a disciple, we're equals."

"E-Equals?"

Surtr felt slightly surprised and embarrassed by that, he still felt like he was a disciple to Drake, and the difference in age was also quite notorious, he could really never treat Drake as an equal, as he saw him more like a father figure or an uncle at least.

"Indeed! Go on! I'll leave the safety of this continent to you! I will handle Pandemonium myself!"

"Y-Yes! I'll do it! Please, be careful! That demon's strength seems never-ending!"

"It might seem to be the case, but he's growing desperate, I have already learned he has an upper limit! Now, go! Don't worry about me, just leave me alone with this bastard!"

"Very well!"

Surtr stopped his telepathic chat with Drake, as he saw Pandemonium's draconic form claw through Drake's armor, only for countless draconic spirits made of blood and void to engulf Pandemonium completely, before exploding and dealing constant damage to him.

"Wait, Surtr!"

"Hm?"

"Please find that kid, Emerald! I cannot seem to locate him nor his people, and I've grown rather worried…! That's all!"

"Don't worry, I'll tell everyone else to look for him as we battle the monsters!"

Surtr nodded, as he quickly regrouped with his family, his two wives, Nadia and Mina, his loyal squire, Jamar, and his two most recent allies, Agnis the Oracle of Logi and Leona, his sister and guardian.

"Surtr!"

"Dear!"

He quickly spread his arms as his two wives, in their titan forms, hugged him tightly. They barely matched his size, and it was a bit funny to see three giants hugging like this.

"I'm glad you made it here! Is everyone alright?"

Surtr was kissed by Nadia and Mina as he spoke.

"Master Surtr! We've managed to survive thanks to your blessing, but… Agni was attacked by a strange curse, and he has grown much weaker."

Jamar walked towards Surtr, he was very small, so Surtr had to kneel to hear him well.

"Agni?!"

Surtr glanced at Agni being carried by Leona and her divine lion spirit, as the young fire giant oracle looked sickly and feverish gasping for air, his divine and magical powers seemed mostly sealed.

"Lord Surtr, please help my little brother!"
