Dragon Ball Human

Chapter 139: Chapter 138: Don't Say I Didn't Warn You

Dr. Brief and his wife flew back to West City.

Outside the small house, Bulma and the boy with the monkey tail stared at each other across Yamiru.

Yamiru was worried that Kakarot might swipe at Bulma with his claws, or that Bulma, holding the gun, might shoot the kid if she got upset. He hadn't forgotten that Bulma has a history with shooting Goku!

However, it seemed he was overthinking.

The Saiyan boy didn't show the traits of the Kakarot that Yamiru had imagined — a character from many Dragon Ball fanfics who was inherently evil and violent. He was indeed different from the innocent Son Goku Yamiru remembered, but not by much. He seemed more energetic, with a bit of aggression — or rather, a protective wariness. Apart from that, there was nothing particularly unusual.

Bulma stared at him for a long time, but the monkey-tailed boy didn't react. Maybe it was because he didn't recognize the laser gun in her hands. When Bulma had tested it earlier, the boy had been startled by the noise, but he hadn't seen the actual shot.

It was Yamiru in the middle who kept staring at the boy, making the monkey-tailed child a little agitated and start to swing his tail. Perhaps in his animal-like perception, this person, who had fought with him, was a threat.

"Kakarot or Son Goku..." Yamiru muttered to himself. "But this isn't something I can control! Let's just go with the flow. Saiyans might not be so different from ordinary beings after all. No inherent good or evil... Vegeta and the others' attitudes might just be a product of their environment... Like how they were changed by Earth later on..." He tried to comfort himself.

"What are you thinking about?" Tights, who had been sitting with Son Gohan, basking in the sun and occasionally asking about the life of legendary martial artists, noticed Yamiru, who was spacing out between the Saiyan boy and Bulma. She moved over, sat down beside him, and complained, "By the way, you told me that you took Jiora to find my dad to sell alien technology, but you didn't make it clear that the technology was gravity control! I thought it was going to be the gravity technology from Jaco's spacecraft. It's so embarrassing..."

She said embarrassing, but her demeanor was casual, clearly just looking for a topic to chat with Yamiru about.

"Sorry about that," Yamiru said. "I didn't expect things with Jaco to happen like that. And honestly, I didn't think I'd run into Jiora again, so I didn't go into details."

Tights laughed. "Don't speak so definitively! You didn't know Jiora before, but now you have a connection with him, so the possibility of running into him again is actually higher!"

Yamiru laughed and asked, "How does that logic work?"

Tights, however, had a point, wagging her finger as she explained, "Elements that appear earlier must be reused later, that's the trick to making it look more sophisticated."

"That's your writing technique, isn't it? Talking nonsense," Yamiru didn't buy it. "Who knows where Jiora is now? I can't think of a reason we'd need to run into him again. Oh, by the way, I lost his knife..."

"Clang, clang!" Tights clapped her hands. "We've got a clue! For when you run into Jiora again, your main task from now on is to find that lost knife!"

"Don't already treat 'meeting Jiora again' as a given!" Yamiru retorted. "And who cares about the knife? It's probably useless from now on. Martial artists or warriors in Dragon Ball don't really need swords or knives!"

"What 'Dragon Ball'?" Tights asked, confused.

"A legendary item, a magical ball that can grant any wish," Yamiru replied calmly, thinking quickly. "As a fantasy writer, you've never heard of it? That's strange!"

Tights: "Never heard of it..." She rested a finger on her chin. "A dream come true, huh? If something like that exists, then finding it' would already be the dream, right? That's putting the cart before the horse!" She struck a fist pose. "Dreams have to be realized with your own hands!"

"Heh heh heh, Such a naive and simple-minded lady's idea!" Yamiru intentionally lowered his voice, trying to sound worldly and worn-out. "In this world, some people are already putting all their energy into just staying alive, how could they have the strength to chase a dream, or even imagine having one? And the Dragon Balls are the legendary orbs that ignite people's hearts with dreams, making them something worth chasing!"

"Ohh~ I see, that makes a lot of sense~" Tights smiled, then pretended to be serious, kneeling respectfully and clasping her hands, giving Yamiru a formal bow. "This young lady has learned something."

"Haha, that's so silly," Yamiru laughed nonstop. "I think you'd be better off as a comedian."

"Then after I find the Dragon Balls, I'll wish to lose my comedy talent."

"Aren't you going to wish to become the greatest writer?"

"That kind of thing I can do myself. To focus, I'd need to eliminate my talent for comedy."

"That's too much. Comedians would cry!"

Tights was amused but then blinked and asked, "Hey, if the Dragon Balls really exist, what would you wish for?"

Yamiru thought for a moment, then looked at Tights and said, "To get married!"

"Huh?" Tights was confused, but saw Yamiru continue, pointing at Bulma and the Saiyan boy, smiling, "I want them to get married!"

"Huh?" Bulma, who had been bored listening to their chatter, looked up. "What's marriage?"

Tights explained, "It's when two people swear to love each other forever and never betray each other."

"Oh," Bulma asked, "What does 'love' mean?"

"Well..." Tights froze, trying to figure out how to explain.

"Big writer, can't find the words?" Yamiru teased.

Tights sighed, "You do it then!"

Bulma looked back at Yamiru, who put on a serious face and said, "Since marriage means two people vow to love each other forever, love is just the state between the two people who are getting married!"

Tights laughed, "Are you cheating?"

Yamiru laughed and shook his head like a goofy character from an Indian musical.

"That's circular reasoning," Bulma said, still developing emotionally but far more knowledgeable than the two of them, pointing out, "It's a classic logical fallacy." She looked over at the monkey-tailed boy, who had lost interest in their conversation and was now on the ground chasing bugs... So clueless, the little girl thought.

"Hehehe." Son Gohan, who had been basking in the sun nearby, suddenly noticed a shadow moving quickly across the sky. "Oh, it's Jaco and them."

Sure enough, a spacecraft with the Galactic Patrol insignia landed beside them, its antenna now fixed.

Dr. Omori climbed out and thanked Bulma, "I really found the other end of the antenna on the island, thank you so much."

"No problem," Bulma replied.

She tugged at her sister's sleeve, asking Tights to help her climb aboard the spacecraft.

Bulma checked the antenna connection. Everything seemed fine; it looked like Dr. Omori wasn't completely incompetent.

"Communication should be fully restored now, right?" Bulma asked as Tights helped her down from the craft.

Dr. Omori replied, "Yes, Jaco seems to have contacted the Galactic Patrol headquarters."

Jaco crossed his arms and looked at Yamiru.

Yamiru was curious, "What's going on?"

Jaco didn't respond but kept staring. Tights sighed, "What's with him?"

"It's nothing, just thought this kid's luck was pretty good," Jaco finally said, looking away from Yamiru.

What he didn't say was that after the communication was restored, he had immediately contacted the headquarters and inquired about the Saiyan homeworld, Planet Vegeta.

Soon, the Galactic Patrol on the other end had erupted in panic, with shocked voices filling the line. But what was confirmed was that Planet Vegeta had indeed been destroyed, just as Yamiru had speculated, and no one knew when or how it happened.

The Galactic Patrol had reached out to the Frieza Force, and the official response was: a meteor impact caused the destruction of Planet Vegeta, marking a tragic loss for the force. After professional analysis by the scientific team, it was believed that the meteor likely came from the Galactic King's domain. They urged the Galactic King to make timely compensation, warning that Frieza might take harsh measures to recover the losses.

"Don't say we didn't warn you." They warned, again.
