Douluo: Infinite Lottery System

Chapter 32: Chapter 32: Backing of a Super Douluo

Xiao Tianyang later learned the origin story of the body Sect and couldn't help but sigh. What could he say? It was truly a tale of misfortune.

The cultivation of the Body martial soul itself was notoriously difficult, requiring adherence to strict methods. A single misstep could result in irreversible injury.

By Miao Zhenshan's generation, however, the sect had gradually found its footing, stabilizing the cultivation process. But fate had other plans—this was precisely when they faced the peak dominance of the Spirit Hall.

The situation turned dire. Without intervention, promising talents were either taken away or left crippled. Miao Zhenshan could do nothing but endure this cruel reality, his helplessness palpable.

Yet, after years of such setbacks, Miao Zhenshan seemed to have come to terms with it. His melancholy eased, and he eventually addressed Xiao Tianyang with a calm resolve, "You don't need to do anything for me. All I ask is that you agree to join our sect."

"That's fine," Xiao Tianyang nodded, agreeing readily. It was, after all, a free benefit. Besides, Miao Zhenshan was a level 97 Titled Douluo—his current condition indicated he wouldn't have many opportunities to act directly.

However, Xiao Tianyang added with a raised eyebrow, "But what about certification from the Spirit Hall?"

"What do you need that for?" Miao Zhenshan's frown deepened slightly.

"Well, not only can I receive a monthly allowance, but it'll come in handy in the future!" Xiao Tianyang replied without hesitation. Supporting Bubu's meals, guarding against Tang San and Xiao Wu sneaking bites, and acquiring quality ingredients required money. Now that hunting was out of the question, he had no stable income. The Spirit Hall's allowance, though modest, would at least tide him over.

Miao Zhenshan considered this, his brows furrowing before he relented. "I can arrange for your identity to be certified, but you won't need to go to the Spirit Hall for verification."

"Fake identity?" Xiao Tianyang asked cautiously.

"Of course not! With a fake identity, how could you receive the allowance?" Miao Zhenshan waved him off. "Leave this to me—I'll handle it."

Xiao Tianyang let out a sigh of relief. It was truly a blessing to have someone like this backing him. To be honest, going to the Spirit Hall himself would have been risky—his first spirit ring was far too unusual.

But with Miao Zhenshan taking care of things, everything became much simpler.

He ventured tentatively, "Teacher Miao if there's nothing else, I'll take my leave."

"Go ahead." Miao Zhenshan dismissed him with a wave, his expression pensive as if lost in thought.

Xiao Tianyang didn't linger. He closed the door behind him and strode away, feeling significantly lighter. As he walked, Miao Zhenshan's brows furrowed slightly.

"It seems I'll need to arrange some sparring partners for him. I can't keep training behind closed doors. At this rate, with his growth speed, he may surpass what I can handle in the future."

Unaware that plans were being made for him, Xiao Tianyang was in high spirits. Humming a tune, he happily made his way home.

"Hmph, forget about your academic masters and their obsession with study habits. Why should I work so hard when I have the Ancient God's Eyes? I can just glance at something and understand it perfectly."

In his good mood, Xiao Tianyang decided to indulge himself. Stopping along the way, he bought a batch of fresh ingredients. A grand feast was in order—a reward for completing his task and easing his burdens.

With his worries behind him, life returned to its usual rhythm: a steady trifecta of study, training, and practice. But now, without the looming pressure of deadlines, even his studies felt less oppressive.

As for Miao Zhenshan, he seemed to have forgotten about Xiao Tianyang entirely, never visiting him again after that day.

On the third day, Xiao Tianyang requested leave from the academy. Once he got permission, he bought a mask and tied it securely over his face.

"Everything's ready. Now let's see if you have the luck to find a suitable spirit ring!" he said with a smile, glancing at Bubu, who sat upright beside

him, tail wagging.

Soul Hunting Forest

This time, it was just Xiao Tianyang and Bubu—one man and one dog. But in all fairness, Bubu's tracking skills were exceptional, enough to keep Xiao Tianyang from wandering into the territory of any particularly dangerous soul beasts.

"The entrance was lively—almost like the vendor stalls outside a game dungeon," Xiao Tianyang chuckled to himself, recalling the bustling scene he had just passed.

Unlike his previous visit, where Miao Zhenshan had rushed him inside at breakneck speed, this time, he had the leisure to observe. There were soul masters forming teams, hiring escorts, or offering protection services. Groups of low-level soul masters—most under Rank 30—had set up temporary jobs to help lone adventurers hunt for spirit rings.

Even Xiao Tianyang had received a few invitations as he entered, but he declined them all.

As they ventured deeper into the forest, Bubu barked ahead, alerting Xiao Tianyang to something. His pace quickened, and he hid behind a nearby tree.

What came into view was a tiger-like soul beast, standing two meters tall with sleek yellow fur adorned with black lightning stripes and faint star-like spots. The creature's scarlet fangs were bared as it devoured its lunch.

Xiao Tianyang's golden pupils flickered as his Ancient God Eyes activated. With a faint flash of light, all the details of the beast entered his mind.

Soul-Beast: Starlight Thunder Tiger

Age: 1,365 years

"It doesn't seem that strong. I should be able to handle it," Xiao Tianyang muttered to himself, sizing up the tiger. He turned to Bubu, who was watching him attentively. "Stay alert. If any other soul beasts come near while I'm fighting, make sure to warn me."

Bubu gave a serious bark and darted into the surrounding grass, ready to patrol the area.

Xiao Tianyang didn't opt for a sneak attack this time. Instead, he stepped out into the open, boldly facing the Starlight Thunder Tiger. This trip wasn't just about completing a task or earning lottery points—it was also about honing his combat skills. A surprise attack would defeat the purpose.

Besides, he didn't need a spirit ring yet; he hadn't yet reached rank 20. For now, defeating this soul beast would be enough.

The Starlight Thunder Tiger let out a deafening roar, both a warning and a challenge.

"You don't need to play those mind games with me," Xiao Tianyang taunted, a smirk tugging at his lips. "Either come at me and win, or get beaten by me!"

To further provoke the beast, he raised his middle finger—a gesture the tiger couldn't possibly understand but still managed to interpret as something bad.

With its body crackling with electricity, the tiger crouched low, muscles coiled like springs. In the next instant, it shot forward like a lightning bolt, jaws wide open, aiming straight for Xiao Tianyang's throat!
