As a member of one of the top-tier powers and the offspring of one of the world's strongest, Yu Xiaogang had long been criticized within his family. However, it was undeniable that he lived quite comfortably under the resource support of Yu Yuanzhen and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.

Under their assistance, the bottleneck that had trapped him at Level 29 for so long finally shattered.

This news spread quickly. The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect—one of the upper three sects—had struggled for years to help Yu Xiaogang break through to the Soul Elder level. Many in the soul master community believed he would never reach that milestone.

But with Ye Wen's theories, Yu Xiaogang succeeded, solidifying Ye Wen's reputation as a true master.

After all, when it came to soul master knowledge and depth, the upper three sects were undoubtedly among the continent's finest. Yet even these great powers had failed to resolve Yu Xiaogang's martial soul cultivation issue—only Ye Wen had succeeded. As a result, Ye Wen's name spread even further throughout the soul master community.

Though Yu Yuanzhen felt some dissatisfaction about his family being looked down upon by other soul masters, he didn't interfere too much, given the favor he owed Ye Wen.

To maximize the benefits of Ye Wen's theories in strengthening Yu Xiaogang's foundation, Yu Yuanzhen subjected him to an extremely rigorous training regimen during this period.

Yu Xiaogang's previously frail body visibly developed lean muscle.

"Your strength has reached two thousand jin. It seems that kid was right—your failed mutation martial soul contains exceptionally high-grade bloodline power. Most ordinary soul masters only have around 1,200 jin of strength.

It seems I've neglected you far too much, Xiaogang."

Yu Yuanzhen sighed as he looked at Yu Xiaogang.

Yu Xiaogang, on the other hand, was utterly exhausted. Originally a bookish individual, he had never endured such relentless physical training day after day.

However, to ensure that his third soul ring would have the maximum impact on his martial soul, he gritted his teeth and persevered.

"Finish it, Xiaogang. This Lightwing Dragon, over 1,900 years old, is a perfect match for your third soul ring."

Taking the knife handed to him by Yu Yuanzhen, Yu Xiaogang swiftly ended the life of the restrained spirit beast before him.

The Lightwing Dragon was one of the light-attribute sub-dragon species of spirit beasts. Resembling the Pteranodon from the age of dinosaurs, its body was a shimmering white-gold. Though not the most powerful sub-dragon species, it was a rare light-attribute spirit beast, which is why Yu Yuanzhen hunted it for Yu Xiaogang.

Watching Yu Xiaogang attach the purple soul ring to Luo Sanpao, Yu Yuanzhen's eyes brimmed with anticipation.

Luo Sanpao's usually pig-like expression suddenly contorted in pain, emitting low, anguished grunts.

As expected, absorbing a soul ring equivalent to his current physical capabilities proved challenging for Yu Xiaogang. After an hour of intense effort, his drenched body finally exhaled heavily in relief. With joy, he gazed at Luo Sanpao.

"Third Soul Skill: Light Dragon Glorious Slash.

Finally, no more farting! Master Ye Wen was absolutely correct—Luo Sanpao's original attribute was indeed light. I completely absorbed the wrong type of soul rings in the past."

At this moment, Luo Sanpao underwent a dramatic transformation. Its body grew to the size of a domestic pig, golden dragon scales appeared on its elongated ears, and a small pair of wings sprouted on its broad back, though they still looked somewhat delicate.

Seeing this, Yu Yuanzhen nodded in satisfaction.

Since Yu Xiaogang had only just broken through to the Soul Elder level, Yu Yuanzhen didn't plan to make a big fuss about it.

However, Yu Xiaogang, who had long suffered discrimination and oppression, was not the type to remain humble. He began flaunting his newfound strength within the clan, openly berating the family soul masters who had helped him hunt soul rings in the past, calling them useless and blaming them for trapping him at Level 29 for so long.

Though the clan members looked down on Yu Xiaogang, they dared not speak out against him, as he was backed by Yu Yuanzhen—the pillar of the family.

For a time, the entire clan seethed with suppressed anger but remained silent. Naively, Yu Xiaogang mistook their silence for agreement and grew even more arrogant.

In reality, breaking through to the Soul Elder level wasn't considered a significant achievement. For the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Sect, recruiting external soul masters of this caliber barely warranted a glance. Some disgruntled clan members, venting their frustration, leaked information about Yu Xiaogang.

By now, nearly every city on the continent had copies of Ye Wen's three works, with 'Treatise on the Origin of Martial Souls' being regarded as a guiding principle by many soul masters. However, without concrete examples before their eyes, they hesitated to adopt his methods fully.

Upon learning that Yu Xiaogang had broken through the Level 30 barrier—a hurdle that vast resources had failed to overcome—thanks to Ye Wen's guidance, almost every soul master became intrigued.

But soon, a problem arose: how could they determine the inherent attributes of their own martial souls?

For high-tier martial souls, the attributes were already clear. They simply needed to hunt soul rings aligned with those attributes.

According to Ye Wen's theories, spirit beasts should also be hunted based on alignment with one's martial soul. For example, wolf martial souls should hunt wolves, and bear martial souls should hunt bears. The goal wasn't to obtain powerful soul skills but to enhance the essence of the martial soul itself, giving future generations an edge over ordinary soul masters.

Yu Yuanzhen hadn't anticipated the mess Yu Xiaogang would create and was feeling somewhat troubled. To salvage his family's reputation, he decided to release information about Ye Wen's 'Soul Attribute Detector'.

After all, the device held little value for the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, whose lightning-attribute martial souls were already well-defined. Thus, it hadn't been mentioned in previous leaks.

As for Yu Xiaogang? Yu Yuanzhen promptly sent him back into hellish seclusion, hoping to temper his arrogance.

"What? Just let me catch my breath after breaking through to Soul Elder!" Yu Xiaogang wailed.

Meanwhile, Ye Wen remained unaware that Yu Yuanzhen had inadvertently boosted his reputation again, as he was busy organizing the academy's opening.

Later, when representatives from the two empires and the Spirit Hall approached him, Ye Wen finally learned what had happened.

However, the 'Soul Attribute Detector' was hardly a technical marvel—it simply involved embedding sensitive elemental metals onto a disk. By infusing soul power, one could identify their martial soul's inherent attributes based on which metals reacted.

Thus, Ye Wen readily handed over the design plans for the 'Soul Attribute Detector' to them.

Seeing that Ye Wen had kept his promise and shared everything openly, the three factions nodded in satisfaction and returned to report their success.

In no time, the prices of relevant metallic materials skyrocketed across the continent, driving the blacksmith guild nearly mad with demand.
