Douluo: Becoming a God by Relying on my Enemies

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Stability is the Most Important Thing for the Academy Now

The seven days of rest passed quickly, and it was time for classes to resume. After their secret excursion to teach the sleazy Bule a lesson, the group gradually forgot about the incident over the days that followed. Except for Yun Feng and a few others, no one knew about Bule's roasting.

Ma Hongjun had become more restrained because of the incident and hadn't visited Soto City during the rest days. His internal fire seemed to have subsided with the intense training.

After breakfast, as the familiar sound of the school bell rang, everyone gathered on the playground on time. The sun was particularly bright today, the sky clear and cloudless. Even though it was still morning, the sunlight felt warm.

Yu Xiaogang stood with his shadow elongated by the sun, arms crossed, waiting for the students to assemble. "It's been three months since I started teaching you here. With the guidance and help of all the teachers, you've built a solid foundation."

"Even though you seemed listless over these three months, there's no doubt you've grown stronger!"

"But, to become an exceptional soul master, this is far from enough."

It's worth noting that during the past three months of grueling training, the other teachers were not idle, as Oscar discovered after one lazy day. The teachers monitored them from the shadows along their training routes. Oscar's laziness resulted in everyone's training load increasing by fifty percent over three days.

This precaution was partly to prevent any incidents like Yun Feng's previous actions, as Dai Mubai had been an example. No one wanted to see the students in danger again, as the collapse of Shrek Academy was not something Flender wanted.

Thus, Yu Xiaogang implemented a collective punishment policy—one person errs, all bear the consequence, fostering unity. Though Yun Feng wasn't included, and Ning Rongrong and others could choose whether to accept punishment based on their mood, Yu Xiaogang was helpless to change this.

"So, starting today, we'll move on to the second phase of your training."

"I hear from Flender that you've all visited the Soto Great Spirit Arena."

"That will be your training ground for the foreseeable future."

"This training has no time limit. It ends when you earn the Silver Spirit Badge."

"During this period, you'll stay at the inn closest to the Great Spirit Arena, with all meals and accommodations self-funded."

"If you're capable, the income from the Great Spirit Arena can be quite lucrative."

Given the academy's financial constraints, Dai Mubai, once the wealthiest student, had been living off others' generosity since his family cut off his financial support. He was delighted at the prospect of earning money.

As for the other students, except for Ning Rongrong and Yun Feng, they didn't have much money on hand. Zhu Zhuqing was an exception; she wasn't foolish and had brought all her possessions when she fled.

So, the truly poor ones were Xiao Wu, Tang San, Ma Hongjun, Oscar, and Dai Mubai, with no income to speak of. Hearing Yu Xiaogang's words, the students felt relieved; participating in the Spirit Arena sounded much more enjoyable than Yu Xiaogang's training.

"But remember, to earn the Silver Spirit Badge, you must succeed not only in one-on-one battles but also in team battles."

"You'll compete under the Shrek team name."

"Team battles not only earn personal points but also team points, which two-on-two battles do not offer."

"Of course, if you want to earn the Silver Spirit title faster, you can form teams for two-on-two battles. I won't stop you, but there are a few restrictions."

"First, during battles, do not reveal your face or give your real name; use code names."

"Second, no one, including Tang San, is allowed to use hidden weapons."

"Third, regardless of the outcome, each person must participate in at least two battles per day."

"Fourth, Yun Feng, my expectations for you are higher; you must earn the Gold Spirit Badge!"

Oscar complained, "Master, do Ning Rongrong and I, as support-type soul masters, also need to earn the Silver Spirit Badge?"

Yu Xiaogang replied calmly, "Or, you can continue training as before until others earn their Silver Spirit Badges."

"Uh... Yu Xiaogang, I've just realized your decision to have us gain combat experience at the Spirit Arena is brilliant. Forget what I said earlier."

Ning Rongrong, who had a similar question, decided not to ask after seeing Oscar's reaction.

Yu Xiaogang, known for his decisive actions, quickly had the students pack their belongings and led them to Soto City. Accompanying them were familiar figures, the academy's original two deans, Four-eyed Cat Eagle Flender and the Immovable King Zhao Wuji. The other three teachers stayed at the academy.

Flender admired Yu Xiaogang's decision; having students cover their own expenses saved the academy money. Meanwhile, he, Zhao Wuji, and Yu Xiaogang could stay at his shop, keeping an eye on the students' progress.

Since the Spirit Arena's battles were held at night, the group chose a modest hotel near the arena in Soto City. Despite being basic, its proximity made it twice as expensive as other places.

After settling the students, Yu Xiaogang initially intended to gather everyone in Tang San's room. However, considering Yun Feng, he sighed and discussed it with him instead.

"Yun Feng, may I invite Zhu Zhuqing and the others to join the pre-battle discussion?"

Hearing this, Yun Feng smiled. It seemed his subtle influence over time was working. Otherwise, Yu Xiaogang wouldn't have consulted him.

Yun Feng agreed with Yu Xiaogang's suggestion, as he had no substantial relationship with the girls yet. "Of course, Xiao Wu, Rongrong, and Zhuqing are part of Shrek Academy, aren't they?"

Yu Xiaogang was momentarily stunned by Yun Feng's words. After ensuring Dai Mubai wasn't nearby, he relaxed slightly. He was aware of the dynamics between Dai Mubai, Zhu Zhuqing, and Yun Feng. Though he knew Zhu Zhuqing and Yun Feng were close, he hadn't realized the extent.

For now, maintaining stability at the academy was paramount.
