Douluo: AFK to Become a God

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Tang San: "Sigh, the rice jar is empty again!"

Everything went according to plan, and after the event, Chu Chengzhou kept his word, rewarding the little beggar with a gold soul coin for his services.

After leaving the vegetable market, Chu Chengzhou found a secluded alley, took off his black robe and mask, and made his way home.

Sigh, I'm still too kind-hearted!

On his way, Chu Chengzhou shook his head and sighed. If someone else had been more ruthless, they would have eliminated all traces of the transaction to ensure no one would spill any information. After all, the only people who can keep a secret are the dead.

But alas, his heart wasn't that cold, and his hands weren't that dark.

Well, the letter was delivered through a third party, and I didn't reveal my true identity. Even if Tang Hao investigates, he won't be able to trace it back to me.

Reflecting on the entire plan, Chu Chengzhou reassured his conscience. As for whether Tang Hao would follow the script after receiving the anonymous letter, he didn't concern himself with it. He had done what he needed to do, and there was nothing more he could do. If Tang Hao and his son refused to leave, there was always a way out.

If they don't leave, I will. There's always a solution.

On the west side of the Holy Soul Village, at the edge of the village, stood three dilapidated mud-brick houses. Above the main house hung a wooden sign with a hammer symbol painted on it, about one meter in diameter.

This rundown house was where Tang San lived.

It was hard to believe that the famous Haotian Douluo, Tang Hao, lived in such a humble place.

Around noon, Tang San, his stomach growling, opened the rice jar lid. Inside, there was only a small spoonful of rice left. He sighed, "Sigh, the rice jar is empty again!"

As if things couldn't get worse, he was also preparing to cook thin porridge since there wasn't enough rice to make a proper meal.

No vegetables? Well, it's already a blessing to have a bowl of porridge!

Knock, knock, knock!

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door.

"Coming!" Tang San shouted, quickly heading to open the door.

"Huh? Uncle Dahe?"

When he opened the old wooden door, Tang San saw the familiar face of Wang Dahe, a villager from the Holy Soul Village.

"Xiao San, where's your father?" Wang Dahe asked.

After selling vegetables at the city's south market, Wang Dahe had rushed back to the village to deliver a letter from a nobleman.

"My dad is still sleeping! Uncle Dahe, please come inside." Tang San replied, inviting him in. He was happy to see a visitor, as it meant business for his father's blacksmith shop, and it seemed like they wouldn't have to worry about food for a while.

After a moment, the curtain of the inner room lifted, and Tang Hao, still disheveled and smelling of alcohol, stumbled out.

"Is there something?" he asked groggily.

"Tang Hao, I have a letter for you. A nobleman in the city asked me to deliver it," Wang Dahe said, handing over the letter.

Tang Hao frowned as he took the letter. He had been living in seclusion for six years, and no one from outside the village had contacted him. Who would be sending him a letter?

But Tang Hao didn't think much of it and opened the envelope.

"By the way, Tang Hao, the person who asked me to deliver the letter also mentioned that you should give me a fee after reading it."

Wang Dahe reminded him about the second payment.

Although he had already earned a gold soul coin, who would refuse more money?

Tang San, standing by, grew anxious. Not only was the business he had hoped for in danger, but now his father might have to pay out more money?

Tang Hao, however, showed no sign of hesitation. Though his family was poor, it didn't mean he couldn't find money. He just didn't care much about it. If he needed to, he could always hunt a soul beast in the forest and make a fortune.

Tang Hao read the letter, and his expression changed. The letter was short and to the point: The innate full soul power of the Blue Silver Grass has attracted the attention of the Spirit Hall. Your identity has been exposed. Leave quickly!

Tang Hao's face darkened as he realized the gravity of the situation. The Blue Silver Grass, which had awakened full soul power, was a rare occurrence, and the fact that the Spirit Hall was involved meant that his family's secret had been discovered.

He had been living in seclusion in Holy Soul Village, but it was not a secret. If anyone looked into it, they could easily find his name. With his son's special talent and the involvement of the Spirit Hall, it was no surprise that his identity had been revealed.

Tang Hao felt a deep sense of gratitude toward the person who had sent the letter. If not for this warning, the consequences could have been dire.

"Did you read this letter?" Tang Hao suddenly glared at Wang Dahe.

"No, no! I didn't open it!" Wang Dahe quickly denied, trembling under Tang Hao's intense gaze.

Tang Hao studied him for a moment and then relaxed. He could tell that Wang Dahe was telling the truth, and the seal on the letter hadn't been broken. Wang Dahe had to be the first to see the contents.

"Alright, I don't have money right now, but you can take whatever you need from my blacksmith shop."

Wang Dahe was taken aback.

What? Take whatever I want? Does this mean Tang Hao is going out of business?

Wang Dahe was confused, but Tang San, standing nearby, was on edge. If his father gave away any of their blacksmith tools, they would be left with nothing.

But before Tang San could say anything, Tang Hao suddenly grabbed him, and with a flick of his wrist, the two of them flew into the air and disappeared.

"Holy crap, Tang Hao can fly?"

Wang Dahe stood there, stunned, watching the sky. He didn't know what level of soul master could fly, but he was sure that Tang Hao was a powerful soul master—probably even stronger than the rumored Soul Sage in the village!
