Chapter 23: Chapter 22: Daily Life At School [Part 1
Although I said that I slept a little late yesterday and was a little tired, Dekisugi still woke up before the time set by the alarm clock the next day. The fresh air in the morning also made him feel more energized.
He pressed the button of the alarm clock to stop the sound and got ready to get up and change into pajamas.
"Dekisugi! Come down and have breakfast, or you'll be late for school."
Because Dekisugi's parents couldn't come back to cook dinner every day, his mother would get up very early to prepare breakfast, while his father prepared the lunch box and dinner.
Hearing his mother's call, Dekisugi quickly put on his clothes and socks, then went downstairs to wash up.
After washing up, he sat down at the dining table, ready to have breakfast.
Since time was tight and although Dekisugi's mother tried to get up early, she still needed sufficient rest or her body would collapse, breakfast and dinner were very simple. Two pieces of bread and a cup of hot milk. Sometimes, if there was more time, a nutritious egg would be included.
At lunch, he would give money to the school so they could provide a unified nutritious lunch. Of course, most of the time the lunches were nutritious but not particularly delicious. Only on festivals or special days would the meals be better.
"Dekisugi, how's the cartoon drawing? If you've finished, you can show it to your father." Dekisugi's father, who was sitting on the stool reading a newspaper, looked up at him. As a father, he was still looking forward to his son's work.
"Well, I've finished one-third of the drawing, and I'm planning to submit it to a publishing house for review." Dekisugi replied while drinking his milk, and didn't think he was exaggerating.
"Hahahaha, not bad, good, ambitious! Come on, Dekisugi!" Dekisugi's father laughed heartily.
It was true that Dekisugi was a smart student, always studying hard at school, working diligently with homework, and rarely playing. His father had seen this hardworking side of him and never doubted whether Dekisugi's grades were genuine.
However, manga was a hobby that Dekisugi had only recently become interested in. Dekisugi's father didn't truly believe that his son would be accepted by a publishing house after drawing for just the first time. But if he kept working hard for a few months, his father didn't doubt it.
"It's enough for my son to cheer up," his father added.
Dekisugi nodded. It was all true. Then he said, "I'm going to school," and left.
Although he had already recognized his original body's parents, they were still two people who cared for him wholeheartedly, so there was no reason to be picky. He put his neatly organized schoolbag on his back and began running toward school.
A strong body wasn't built overnight; it came from long periods of consistent exercise. Therefore, exercise must start with the small things in life. Moreover, exercise was essential for overall health. If the body's energy and nutrition weren't sufficient, it would result in little progress and leave hidden injuries.
With Dekisugi's current physical condition, he only needed a little exercise, and the rest would wait until he had money.
Jogging all the way to school, he soon saw Shizuka, who had just left her house.
Today, Shizuka was wearing a pure white dress. Although it was already September, the weather still hadn't fully transitioned out of the summer heat and was extremely hot.
Dekisugi waved his hand and shouted at Shizuka's back.
"Shizuka~"
"Huh? Ah, it's Dekisugi." Shizuka paused slightly and looked back with some confusion. After a quick flick of her head, she stopped and waited for Dekisugi to jog over.
"Here, Shizuka, here's your diary."
Dekisugi had found the diary that Shizuka had given him when packing his schoolbag the night before. Although he wasn't very interested, since it was given to him, it was better to return it rather than lose it. That way, if Shizuka asked him about it, he wouldn't be embarrassed.
"Oh, Dekisugi, you've finished reading it?" Shizuka blushed slightly as she took the pink diary. There was nothing shy in it, but it was a subconscious reaction, as many boys would blush when reading a girl's diary.
"I've finished reading it. The content is very interesting. It made me hear Shizuka's inner voice." Dekisugi smiled. After all, a diary was supposed to be a person's inner voice, which was why some people disliked others reading their diaries.
"That's right, I've read your diary, Dekisugi, and it's very interesting. Now, I'll return it to you." Shizuka handed Dekisugi a blue notebook from her school bag, which belonged to the original Dekisugi.
Dekisugi looked through the diary by himself and showed it to Shizuka directly, not finding anything embarrassing in it.
"By the way, Dekisugi, why are you running like this?" Shizuka asked, looking at him a bit oddly. Dekisugi wasn't usually like this.
"Oh, you mean this? I decided to exercise every day. A healthy body is important. Shizuka, how about we run to school together today? By the way, did you have breakfast?" Dekisugi smiled and invited Shizuka to jog with him, but if she hadn't had breakfast, he wouldn't want her to exert too much effort, as it could be tough on her body.
"Exercise, okay. I ate earlier." Shizuka thought for a moment, nodded, and agreed to Dekisugi's invitation. Dekisugi looked at the pure and lovely girl in front of him and smiled. He took her little hand, and together they jogged, bathed in the sunlight of the rising sun, a different kind of match.
