Chapter 4: Chapter 4: The Countersign Submission
The chains were down, but Selene had stayed motionless.
The cold iron of the shackles that had bound her wrists had been taken away and her wrists rested easily in her lap. She didn't pull away. Didn't run. Her violet eyes were alive with emotions she wouldn't admit to, defiance, trepidation... and something more.

He smiled. She is starting to get it.
He touched awfully, cupped her chin, made her look up. "Tell me, Selene," he murmured, his voice a rumble of authority. "Why haven't you moved?"
She inhaled sharply; pride still clung to her jaw, now closed, but there was no answer.
Aric smirked. "You're hesitating. That means you've lost already."

Aric leaned in, his lips inches from hers, but he didn't touch her. Instead, he allowed himself to saturate her until she was lost in the understanding that she already belonged to him.
She shuddered, and finally … her lips moved.
"…I… am yours."

And Aric knew this was just the start.
