Dimensional Keeper: All My Skills Are at Level 100

Chapter 144: A Battle to the Top!

The five guild masters of the East, the Witch of the North, the King of the West, and the Seven Crown of the South all had their eyes locked on the two screens floating above the portal leading to the temple.

"This temple is certainly different this time," Aurelia said, her face slightly furrowed as she glanced at the twelve figures on the pillars.

James, the leader of the Lionheart Guild, nodded. "Previously, it was only about them reaching the floor and comprehending level 3 Auras, but now we have the broadcast, the battle realm, and all twelve geniuses? Looks like whoever the owner of the temple is—or should I say, was—is proceeding with what the temple was designed for."

He added, glancing at the other leaders. "To find a successor."

"I have to agree with you, James," the leader of the Black Lotus Guild said from behind his mask. "The rules of the temple have changed, and it seems it has begun its search for a successor."

He looked toward the two screens and continued, "From the words of the spirit just now, it seems the twelve on the screen will battle to determine who is the strongest. But why the sudden shift? The temple had worked fine with three floors and three levels of auras. Why the sudden need to find a successor?"

"It doesn't matter," Kate Hardy, the woman in shining armor and leader of the Knights of Valor, said as she glanced at the two screens. "Let's just hope that among the twelve, the one who inherits everything from the master of the temple belongs to the East."

Everyone nodded. Though it might not appear so, the East had always been the weakest region, despite having five major guilds, four major families, and the Union Vanguards. The powers of the East were more scattered compared to the other regions, which caused it to fall behind.

"By the way, that kid Max—what is he doing there among the twelve?" Parker Benette, leader of the Emerald Guild, pointed out. "He seems out of place with his strength at level 7 of the Apprentice Rank, don't you think, Aurelia?" He asked, turning to the leader of the Phoenix Order Guild.

Aurelia glanced at him before turning to the two screens. "You don't need to worry about him." Though she said that, a frown appeared on her face. She had already noticed Max's presence among the twelve, but like everyone else, she was just as clueless as to why he was there with the geniuses at the peak of the Adept Rank.

Kate noticed Max as well but didn't pay much attention to him. However, the masked leader of the Black Lotus Guild seemed to be focused entirely on him. 'Max, this is the biggest stage you could ever have, but will you use the black flames?' he wondered. Continue reading at My Virtual Library Empire

As Max entered through the black cube, he found himself in a massive hall with twelve pillars, standing on top of one of them.

It was a white pillar, one of the twelve white pillars where everyone had landed.

Before them stood a stage made of neatly arranged square white tiles, prepared for battle.

"What is this?" Max wondered, glancing around and observing the others. Noticing everyone standing on the pillars, he wondered what they were there for, but the large stage before them cleared his doubts.

Just then, a screen appeared before them in the middle of the stage, showing the blob of slime. "The trial leading to the fifth floor is simple. Prove that you are the strongest, the greatest, and the top genius of the Valora Continent, and you will have your chance at my master's inheritance."

It looked at everyone with an aloof expression. "But only the strongest among you all can have this chance. My master despised weaklings—only the strongest may claim his inheritance."

With those words, the blob swiped its tiny hands, and another screen appeared before them. It displayed the names of all twelve geniuses, divided into two groups: A and B, with six members in each group.

In Group A were Max Morgan, Five, Crown Prince Aelric, Henry Heather from Lionheart Guild, Revenna Frostbane from the North, and Jared Brown from Emerald Guild.

In Group B were the rest of the geniuses: Amelia, Veylin, Asha Lin from Black Lotus Guild, Mad Sword, Bruce, and Arthur Gale from the South.

Everyone found their names in one of the two groups. Some were pleased with their group, while others frowned.

The blob smiled at the twelve geniuses and explained the rules. "The rules are simple. One battle from Group A and one battle from Group B will take place alternately. Who fights whom within the same group will be decided by a randomizer, and only the winners of both groups will have a chance to fight each other to determine the strongest."

It added, "The battle between two will only end if one of them either admits defeat or is killed. Remember this: since the fight is happening inside a Battle Realm, there's no need to hold back. Go all out."

With that, the screen displayed the randomizer for Group A.

[Group A] – Max vs Revenna Frostbane – Five vs Henry Heather – Crown Prince Aelric vs Jared Brown

[Group B] – Amelia vs Bruce – Veylin vs Arthur Gale – Mad Sword vs Asha Lin

Everyone turned their heads to the screen, checking out their opponents. Some seemed happy with their matchups, while others sighed.

"Huh? The situation is very unfavorable for us in the East," James said, frowning as he glanced at the battle list.

"It is what it is. Let's hope they do well," Kate said calmly, her entire focus on the screen.

In the Battle Realm, the blob glanced at the battle list and then at the twelve geniuses. "This is your list for the first round. It will start in ten minutes with the first battle from Group A."

'I will fight first…' Max thought, glancing at Revenna Frostbane. 'From her attire, she seems to be from the North.' He mused, wondering about her class.

"Someone just said they're better than everyone, huh?" Jack, the Mad Sword, sneered, glancing at Max. "You better be correct, or you're going down in the very first round."

Max ignored him, calming his beating heart. It was racing with excitement. Ever since he had entered the Apprentice Rank, he'd realized that Apprentice Rank experts or monsters barely stood a chance against him.

Only those at the Adept Rank could fight and defeat him.

Since then, he had rarely used his full strength, but as he looked at the twelve geniuses standing before him, Max was sure he couldn't hold anything back against them.

He would have to go all out, and that's exactly what he wanted— a battle where he could unleash his full strength without a care in the world.

Just thinking about it made him tremble with excitement.

"I'll wait for our battle," Five said to Max from his pillar.

Max glanced at him and nodded slightly.

Time passed slowly, and ten minutes passed.

Whoosh!

Max and Revenna Frostbane disappeared from their respective pillars and arrived at the massive stage in the center of the twelve pillars.

"You two can begin now," the blob said, smiling. It was eager to see if Max had the strength to back up his words.
