Danmachi: Hephaestus is my Wife

Chapter 25: Chapter 25 - Excited to explore the dungeon.

Feeling discouraged after learning I need 10,000 points to rank up, I left the training room. I promised myself I would rest today.

However, I only said I wouldn't forge swords today.

Ever since I ventured into the dungeon for the first time, I've been interested in going back and exploring further. For some reason, I feel like I have to do it. Not just to become stronger, but I also sense that something incredible will happen if I keep exploring.

It's a strange feeling.

But, of course, the main goal is to grow stronger.

This time, I decided to take one of my swords. I had stored all the refined-rank swords in my inventory, leaving only the rare-rank sword in my room.

Speaking of it, I put a sheath on it to prevent the blade from getting damaged.

I opened my inventory and looked at the refined-rank swords on display.

"Which one should I take? I haven't tested the new one yet; this could be a good opportunity."

I held the refined-rank sword I had forged and examined it. A system window popped up, showing the sword's ability.

[Flames LV1]

"An ability that produces fire. I haven't tested it, but it seems amazing," I muttered, staring at the system window. "This system should display more details—like the sword's attack power or durability. That would be useful."

But nothing else appeared.

I thought asking the system might change something.

Huff~~

I sighed and grabbed one of the sheaths stored in my inventory. I had many of them to store rare-rank or higher swords.

Sheathing the sword, I left the training room, feeling quite excited.

I walked to the tower with the sword in hand, ignoring the stares directed my way. When I reached the tower's entrance, I felt a flutter of nervousness in my stomach. 'Today, I want to go deeper. Maybe even reach the third floor.'

I wasn't sure if that would be possible today, but I intended to try.

Taking slow steps, I reached the dungeon entrance and descended alongside other adventurers. They were looking at me with admiration for some reason. Maybe they thought I was much stronger than I was because of my appearance.

Upon reaching the first floor, I followed the first path I found.

Staying alert to my surroundings, I kept walking. After a few minutes, the first monsters appeared in my way. Now that I had a sword, this would be even easier.

Two goblins.

Both attacked at the same time.

Shing!

I unsheathed my sword, activated the "Flames LV1" ability, and swung it. When the goblins saw my blade glowing a fiery orange, their eyes widened in fear.

The sword's blade unleashed a burst of fire that shot toward them.

The flames engulfed the goblins, and they began screaming in agony, desperate.

They burned to death.

I didn't need to touch them with my sword to kill them. The flames produced by the sword were incredibly powerful, even at level one. As Hephaestus and Mikari said, my swords are too strong.

Feeling satisfied, I sheathed my sword again and calmly continued through the dungeon's corridors.

It was so calm and quiet.

It didn't even feel like a place where monsters could appear at any moment.

####

I kept exploring the first floor of the dungeon, slaying some monsters along the way. It was very easy. I used only the blade and refrained from using the "Flames" ability since I felt it wasn't a good idea.

These swords consume a lot of magic, and I have very little of it.

I don't know the exact number since Hephaestus hasn't updated my falna, but it's probably VERY low!

"But at this rate, I think I could do this for hours." Despite having low magic, my stamina is high. I forge swords all day without fainting, and I'm not even slightly tired after exploring the dungeon for over an hour.

Not that I've fought many monsters.

"Should I head to the second floor?"

I quickly found the path to the second floor, but before I could proceed, I was attacked by a group of monsters—three kobolds traveling together.

It was the first time I encountered three monsters grouped like this.

I smirked and unsheathed my sword. The blade was dirty with blood and dust.

"Come on," I said, letting the sword's sheath fall. Holding the sword with one hand, I stood still. The three kobolds charged at me.

They're just rabid dogs.

I'm used to dealing with stray rabid dogs on the streets—I grew up in Brazil, after all.

I swung my sword, and two kobolds were decapitated instantly. The third kobold leaped toward me, trying to slash me with its claws and bite me, but I moved to the side to the side, and it missed.

The kobold growled and attacked again, even more furiously.

But it was easy to kill.

I kicked it, throwing it against the dungeon wall. Then I drove my sword straight into its chest. The kobold groaned in pain and died there, offering little resistance.

I collected three magic stones and an item.

"My pockets are small; they'll fill up quickly."

I proceeded to the second floor.

After more than an hour of exploring the second floor, something interesting happened.

[A precious metal has been detected!]

"A precious metal? Here?"
