Damn it! Let's smash the darkness together!

Chapter 5: Chapter 3 Full of Harvest_2

Xu Shu silently went over his recent encounter, utterly disgusted by the sinister "Tai Chu Scroll" in his mind, though his hands kept moving, feeling a golden rectangular item.

When he touched it, the texture was neither metal nor wood, but rather soft, like the feel of animal skin!

Xu Shu was curious. Just as he was about to pick it up to take a closer look, a burning pain suddenly shot through his hand. He quickly dropped it and looked down, only to see a red patch forming on his palm.

"Damn, that's hot! Is her body temperature that high? I didn't notice it earlier."

Xu Shu, puzzled and unable to understand, hastily blew on his palm to soothe the pain.

After a moment of thought, he picked up the remaining black stockings from Black Widow, wrapped the golden bar with them, and then managed to stuff it into Black Widow's narrow, high-heeled shoe, with his clothes wrapped around it for a triple layer of protection.

The nails, fur, and teeth were treated similarly by Xu Shu. He wrapped them layer by layer with his clothes and placed them in another high heel, then wrapped the high heel as well.

With that, two makeshift bags were ready.

He clipped the two high heels to his belt and headed outside to the corridor, shouting, "Hey? Is anyone still alive?"

After a while, responses came intermittently from upstairs and downstairs.

"There are!"

"I'm still alive."

"Me too."

"Young man, please save me."

People were knocking on doors, pleading for help. Some were pressing against the iron-barred windows on the doors, seeing that Black Widow was dead.

Xu Shu noticed that among these people, a few spoke weakly, probably having been confined before;

The majority, like him, were Scavengers who had been captured together.

Meanwhile, he noticed the doors to cells 201-209 were open. There were pools of blood on the floors inside, evidently victims of Black Widow's fatal attacks.

But in cells 211-220 and many across the hallway, there were still people alive.

He went ahead and found a set of keys hanging by the door, each marked with a cell number. He took them and began unlocking the cells, freeing these unfortunate souls.

However, when he got to cell 217, Xu Shu suddenly stopped.

"Brother, please, hurry up and save me! I'm injured, I need to stop the bleeding, please let me out," the man inside sounded slightly guilty.

Xu Shu sneered, "Stop pretending. I remember you; you're in cahoots with those human traffickers. Don't even think about getting out—just wait for death."

Seeing no point in pretending further, the man yelled desperately yet threateningly, "Kid, let me out now, or else I swear I'll kill you."

"Oh?"

Xu Shu glanced sideways, realizing the man indeed looked stronger than himself and he wouldn't stand a chance in a one-on-one fight.

But...

"I'm laughing. You think you are tough?"

Right in front of him, Xu Shu inserted another key into the man's cell lock and after a few twists, the key broke inside.

Seeing this, the man collapsed, "Ah! No, don't! Let me out, you beast! You want to kill your whole family by keeping me here!"

"Heh, impotent rage."

Xu Shu, with a heart strong as ever, treated his threats like a dog barking, ignoring him completely.

Half an hour later, Xu Shu set free everyone he deemed harmless looking.

Additionally, two others on the first floor were making faces, but Xu Shu recognized them as associates of the same traffickers and locked them in, unable to hold back from cursing out loud.

Altogether, nearly twenty survivors were rescued, all young and middle-aged men. They seemed somewhat frightened of Xu Shu, timidly following behind him, treating him as if he were a leader.

"Are you all following me? Hmm, this might actually be good. Strength in numbers..."

With a new plan in mind, Xu Shu headed toward the security door at the entrance of the jail.

The crowd, puzzled, followed him, and soon saw him fiddling with something. Suddenly, with a clank, the door swung open!

"Behind this kind of security door's keypad lock, once there's a power outage, there's an emergency start button. Thankfully it's not broken."

Xu Shu dusted off his hands and turned back to propose to everyone, "Folks, we are all Scavengers. How about we band together, scour some spoils in the Wasteland, and then head back to the safe zone together!"

"This..."

However, upon hearing this, the survivors suddenly looked at each other and started nodding timidly.

"What's wrong?" Xu Shu was puzzled.

In his view, the Wasteland was rife with danger, and ordinary people going out alone couldn't survive.

Only by helping each other could people have a chance to survive in this monster-infested Wasteland.

The old ancestors passed through snow-covered mountains and grasslands by doing just this, and Xu Shu deeply believed in the idea that "unity is strength."

Not to mention other things, when you're out and about, if you fall into a pit, having someone lend a hand to pull you out is always better than being alone.

At that moment, a thin man in his thirties, obviously one of the first to be captured, shouted, "I'm sorry, my family is in a nearby shelter, I need to go first!"

He said this and ran out, checked his direction, and disappeared around the corner, extremely flustered.

And after he took the lead, the others also began to grow restless.

"Ah, my mom is still waiting at home for me!"

"Thank you for saving me, but I have to go now!"

"Me too!"

Within a short period, the remaining people also dispersed in a rush, not one stayed behind.

Moreover, as they left, Xu Shu heard them continuously muttering things like "too scary," "demons," and the like.

"???"

Xu Shu was momentarily baffled, not understanding what was happening.

"What's going on, why did they all leave? Is there something wrong with my proposal?"

"Could it be that there's some special survival rule on the Wasteland, like not to bunch up together, as gathering people might attract the Demon's attack... Ah, that would make sense!"

"No wonder we were caught by Black Widow, was it because we were too concentrated?"

"If that's the case, then I should also be careful and cautious from now on; it seems I can only rely on myself!"

Xu Shu suddenly had a realization and retreated to the prison, preparing to close the door.

Compared to outside, Xu Shu thought the inside seemed a bit safer.

...

Little did Xu Shu know, these people were actually afraid of him!

The earth-shaking noise during his fight with Black Widow, everyone heard it.

Six hours.

Black Widow screamed for six straight hours!

Without stopping.

Her voice was completely hoarse!

Damn, that's brutal!

"Too terrifying, too perverse, how can there be such a monstrous person?"

Their looks at Xu Shu were full of fear, fearing that if this beastly nature erupted, and there were no women on the Wasteland, he might turn on them men?

Thinking of Black Widow's method of death, they were all trembling.

"Black Widow indeed makes one's legs go weak, but compared to her... dude, you are the real beast!"
