Daily life of a cultivation judge

Chapter 1016 1016: Middle ground (2)

"Now, a few things need to be mentioned here. Things that I deem important.

One of the Order's purposes around the continent is to reduce bloodshed and prevent chaos by bringing understanding and awareness to parties and even warnings if need be.

Elder Yu Hui, your Yu clan stands at a precipice at the moment," Yang Qing said as his firm attention fell on the elder.

"What do you mean by that?! Is the Order threatening my clan?!" said Yu Hui in an agitated tone that was laced with anger.

"No, you misunderstand. Please allow me to explain. How much do you know of Miss Fan Ha's past? More specifically where she's from?

With a well-established clan like yours, I am sure you are well-equipped to get certain pieces of information,"

Despite not knowing where Yang Qing was going with this, Yu Hui still nodded.

They had indeed investigated her. As one of the leading reasons why they had not subjugated the Starlight Lake Sect back then, of course, they did everything they could to investigate her background as much as they could.

Fan Ha didn't leave much footprint but with their resources, they still managed to figure out she was from the Deer Mountain Range.

This was what emboldened them to continuously act against the Starlight Lake Sect, despite her presence. Neither she nor the Starlight Lake Sect had sufficient power or backing to deter them.

If she had been someone from the Green Fog region then maybe they might have had cause for concern, considering the reputation of that place.

But the Deer Mountain Range wasn't worth their consideration or fear. The range despite being filled with spirit beasts, it was already known that there were no domain-level spirit beasts there, otherwise no human cultivators would dare venture into the region or even establish their foundations there.

"Without going too deep into the background, I will only highlight the parts that are relevant to you and to the case at hand.

I am willing to make a dao oath that everything I am about to reveal is the truth to the best of my knowledge," Yang Qing said as he lifted his right hand, placed it across his chest, and muttered some ancient incantation that drew a transcendent archaic power into the room that appeared and disappeared in seconds.

Yu Hui and the rest were surprised by his actions. Dao oaths were never done lightly because the repercussions of violating them resulted in the death of the cultivator when the dao tribulation lightning descended on them for the violation.

To them, even though Yang Qing was the mediator of the case, didn't need to go to the lengths of making dao oaths.

Everyone around, from his inquisitors to the team from Starlight Lake Sect, to Yu Hui and down to even Li Tian the most powerful member present, they all couldn't hide their surprise at Yang Qing's actions.

For Yu Hui, after the surprise abated, he felt relieved. While he wouldn't believe the Order would deceive him so as to have their way, one can never have too many assurances that someone was telling the truth.

For Yang Qing, he felt he needed to do it if he wanted things to go as he had hoped. He needed to show his sincerity if he truly hoped to be listened to.

"Now with that out of the way, we can get on with it," Yang Qing casually said as he leaned slightly forward.

The casualness with which he acted made people doubt he was just from doing something as scary as invoking a dao oath.

"Elder Yu Hui, this is the future you will likely have to contend with if you decide to pursue the contract.

I need to say it beforehand, the future in question may or may not happen, so you are free to decide on what to do with the information I am about to reveal to you.." said Yang Qing as he interlocked his fingers

"Miss Fan Ha has a sister and that sister is a flood dragon and from what I can tell, over 20,000 years ago she was already a domain expert," Yang Qing said, his voice though low and soft, the implications exploded in the room like the rumbling of thunder.

Yu Hui's face quickly turned aghast as his eyes widened and his mouth opened slightly. He looked like he wanted to speak, but his mouth failed him. No voice came out. He couldn't speak.

Meng Jiayi almost dropped his wine jar, luckily Yu Gen was there to hold it in place with his spiritual qi. Xie Yuan couldn't hide the shock from the sheer disbelief that showed on her face as she looked at Fan Ha, who couldn't help but smile awkwardly because of the way Xie Yuan was looking at her.

Li Tian looked just as surprised, though he managed to contain his surprise albeit slightly. Even Yu Gen and Xia Ting looked just as surprised since Yang Qing had not informed them of that particular information beforehand.

Their reactions were to be expected considering a flood dragon was involved.

As for Fan Cai, he looked oddly calm, all things considered. Other than the slight shining in his eyes, there wasn't much reaction.

Maybe the constant shocks and surprises had finally got to him that his mind and body couldn't even react to it anymore. Or maybe he just didn't quite grasp what being a flood dragon was, but the rest surely did.

"In the spirit of honesty, I will tell you this. Her whereabouts are currently unknown as she hasn't been seen at the Deer Mountain Range for almost 5,000 years, but what has been seen is her disciple, a spirit beast currently residing in the Deer Mountain Range attempting a breakthrough to the domain realm and is already there.

For reasons I can't mention, I can tell you this, the Order can confirm his existence and that he is at the quasi-domain realm already.

Knowing what you know now, Elder Yu Hui, what do you think would happen to your clan if her sister found out what happened to her, and the reason why she is in your clan?" asked Yang Qing before he turned and fired another question toward Fan Ha.

"Before you left, did you both have means of finding each other somewhere down the line in case one of you wished to?"

"We did," Fan Ha said as her gaze inadvertently fell on Fan Cai's storage ring that contained one of the scales of her elder sister.

That scale was the means her sister had left her. With it she could find Fan Ha anytime, and should Fan Ha wish to find her, she only needed to mutter a certain incantation and it would teleport her to the nearest location by at least 1,000 kilometers.

Her sister would also be able to sense its activation. In addition, it also doubled down as a protective means, as it contained a bit of her sister's strength and abilities, specifically her impenetrable defenses.

From what her sister told her, it should be able to defend against the full-blown onslaught of a single first-stage domain expert for almost three hours before its energy runs out. It was one of her greatest treasures and trump cards which she in turn handed down to Fan Cai to ensure his safety just in case something happened to her.
