Chapter 791 - 791: No Need to Hesitate
Chapter 791: Chapter 791: No Need to Hesitate
“You don’t need to worry about my second uncle’s thoughts,” Adrian Zhekova said. “His thoughts cannot influence anything.”
“In public, although he has some authority in the Zhekova family’s business, he is not in the main family line, so he won’t be arranged to be in the most core industries.”
“The Zhekova family has many businesses. Just the main family line alone cannot control them all. But the real core and important positions are given to the main family line and trusted people to hold.”
“Other side branches, or those who are clearly not trusted by the family head, will be sent to some marginal and unrelated positions.”
“Since my second uncle is still senior, he couldn’t be given a completely useless position. But even with some authority, he won’t be able to interfere with our affairs.”
“In private matters, our marriage is our family’s own business. He may be a relative, but he has no right to interfere. Moreover, he is just a second uncle, and a distant one at that.”
“I’m not that close to him. So privately and publicly, he has no right to interfere.” Adrian said.
Cindy Clarke nodded her head.
She knew that although this was the case, just because Adrian’s second uncle had no right to interfere did not mean he wouldn’t.
Even if the final result was useless, it was still annoying to be inexplicably interfered with and dissatisfied.
Adrian clearly thought so too: “But you can’t stop him from talking.”
Adrian sneered, “I can imagine what he might say.”
“My second uncle always uses his seniority to his advantage. To put it bluntly, he is a very self-righteous person,” Adrian said.
“If he says something unpleasant or offensive, you don’t have to be considerate of him just because he’s an elder. Don’t be afraid to speak up,” Adrian said.
“You don’t need to hold back, just speak your mind,” Adrian discussed in advance with Cindy.
He knew what kind of character his second uncle was, but Cindy didn’t.
Even if she listened to him, she might not have a real sense of it until she actually saw him.
But it didn’t matter. Didn’t she still have Adrian?
And besides, the grandparents and his parents were not easy to deal with either.
Her family members would not stand idly by while her second uncle bullied Cindy.
“Speaking of which, the current family head is still dad, right?” Cindy asked.
Although Adrian now takes care of most things and people outside know more about him, it seemed to Cindy that he had not yet taken over the position of family head.
“Yes,” Adrian nodded, “it’s still dad.”
“So, the position my uncle is eyeing now is still dad’s,” Cindy found the key point.
Adrian smiled: “That’s right.”
“No one in the family from the Old Master to me has ever liked him, simply because he has always been eyeing that position,” Adrian said.
With Adrian’s temperament, would he be bothered about his second uncle’s opinions?
It was estimated that if his second uncle dared to say anything, Adrian wouldn’t care about his uncle’s feelings.
“Don’t worry,” Adrian told Cindy again.
Cindy naturally was not worried.
She was not the same person as before; she had so many people protecting her now.
She had her grandparents, her parents-in-law, no, they should be called parents now.
When Victoria Wheeler and Maverick Zhekova introduced themselves in the video, it was as her parents.
Although the two of them didn’t say much, Cindy understood their meaning.
Cindy’s biological parents were not kind, but they were willing to be Cindy’s parents.
Cindy was their daughter-in-law.
But they were more willing to treat her like a daughter.
“We don’t have to worry about seeing him until the fifth day of the month.”
“Anyway, you know that with me, mom and dad, and the grandparents, it’s enough. You don’t have to say anything yourself. We won’t allow your second uncle to say anything unpleasant to you,” Adrian said.
Cindy nodded her head.
She wasn’t afraid in the first place.
Just as Adrian said, she had him, her parents, and her grandparents.
She didn’t have to worry at all.
If she didn’t have the support of her family and elders, she might have been worried about others gossiping and being unhappy with her. Because of her awkward position in her husband’s family, she wouldn’t have had the confidence to refute anything.
But she was different now; with the support of her elders in the family, if she still worried, she would truly be conscienceless.
“We won’t be going back until the fifth day of the month anyway. There’s nothing to do tomorrow, is there anything you want to do?” Adrian asked.
They would be idle at home tomorrow anyway.
Cindy shook her head, “I can’t think of anything right now.”
She wasn’t too tired these days and didn’t particularly want to rest at home.
Cindy thought about it and said, “Why don’t we ask Morgan what he wants to do tomorrow? Where does he want to go and play?”
Before, Cindy had taken the little guy out by herself. Even then, as a single parent, she had never treated the little guy unfairly.
As long as it was a suitable place the little guy wanted to go, Cindy would take him there.
Such as parent-child centers, indoor amusement parks for kids his age, Lego parks, educational science museums, hiking, and picnics, etc.
She would take the little guy wherever other kids could go.
However, with her taking the little guy out alone, the feeling was always different.
In places for parent-child activities, many parents would be with their children, making a family of three seem exceptionally warm.
Children with both parents were always happier than others.
After marrying Adrian, the little guy had fewer chances to go out and play.
Adrian was busy with work and often worked overtime on weekends.
Cindy was also busy with the Cooking Competition. It wasn’t easy for both of them to take a break and they had to go back to the family mansion with the little guy.
The grandparents missed the little guy too.
Although they had taken the little guy out to play, it had been infrequent.
Asking the little guy where he wanted to go play tomorrow was a good opportunity to take him out and have fun.
It didn’t matter what they played or where they played; what mattered was the three of them being together.
Adrian agreed.
It was getting late, so the two hurried to rest.
The next day, not only did Cindy and Adrian get up late, but the little guy also got up late because he had stayed up late the night before.
He didn’t open his eyes until 10 o’clock.
If he hadn’t felt that it was already getting late, he would have slept more.
Just as Cindy and Adrian were getting up late too, the little guy came out of the bedroom right when they were both ready and coming out of their own bedroom.
As Cindy prepared breakfast, she asked him, “Morgan, what do you want to play today? Where do you want to go?”
The little guy thought about it but couldn’t come up with an idea immediately.
Cindy then said, “It’s okay, we have the whole day, don’t hurry. Think about it while eating breakfast.”
As she spoke, the toast was ready, so she put it on a plate.
She then cracked eggs and added milk and freshly ground pepper, as well as salt.
