Alex Carter reached out and slowly touched the Blackwall.
With a slight tremor, Brigitte and the Voodoo Boys who were behind him disappeared one after another.
Alex understood that he had now come outside the Blackwall, into a cyberspace full of dangerous roaming AIs and desolation.
As Alex observed the differences between this side and the Blackwall, a gigantic figure composed of data, in the form of a woman, approached swiftly from the darkness in the distance.
"Alt?"
"Johnny..." A grand voice echoed throughout the space.
The figure looked down at Alex and said emotionlessly, "You cannot stay here."
Without any visible movement from her, the surrounding cyberspace trembled again.
With a swift motion, Brigitte and the others reappeared in front of Alex.
He was back within the Blackwall!
At the same time, Alt appeared with him, now on the inner side of the Blackwall.
Looking at the huge and magnificent form above her, Brigitte's voice was full of amazement.
"Alt... Cunningham!"
Alt looked down at the members of the Voodoo Boys below and waved her hand casually.
The next moment, a network fluctuation occurred, and the Voodoo Boys vanished from cyberspace in an instant.
In the blink of an eye, Brigitte, who had been unable to be dealt with by the NetWatch agent, was expelled.
It was clear how powerful Alt had become.
In cyberspace, at least within the Blackwall, no one could match her.
After dealing with these trivial matters, Alt turned her attention back to Alex.
Alex felt a shift and found himself entering another strange space.
Alt's figure floated quietly in the air.
Besides her, Johnny was also present.
Johnny looked up at Alt and said with emotion, "You came all the way across the Blackwall to see me... Are you saying we're still friends?"
However, Alt showed no emotional response to Johnny's remarks.
"I recognize your engram code, but I don't understand why you're here."
After speaking, she turned her attention to Alex.
"You are unusual; the Relic is activated in your brain, yet given the integrity of your consciousness, you don't seem threatened by it."
"I'm curious how you managed that."
"I have a bioprosthesis that enhances regenerative capabilities, so it's not a problem," Alex said casually.
Alt was silent for a moment before responding without emotion: "I've never seen such technology in the ruins of the old net or within the Blackwall."
"Cough, that's not important. We're here to cooperate with you," Alex quickly shifted the topic.
It's said that Alt can read minds, and with her powerful detection abilities in the network, he didn't want his Blacklight Virus to be discovered.
"Hold on," Johnny interrupted.
He frowned, looking at Alt. "Alt, what's happened to you? When I saved you from the Arasaka Tower, you weren't this... vacant."
Alex smiled wryly and comforted him: "Johnny, she might not be the Alt you once knew."
"You seem to know me well," Alt lowered her body and looked at Alex.
The entire cyberspace fell into an eerie silence.
After a moment, Alt spoke again.
"From the analysis of your usual behavior, you seem very aware of what you're doing, and your thoughts are quite firm."
"Either you lack fear, or you already know what's happening."
"It's interesting that there's no record of your activity from a week ago on the net."
"This is quite incredible in a world filled with networks and data."
"It's as if you appeared in this world out of thin air, or you're a bystander here."
Listening to Alt's words, Alex felt a chilling sensation spread through his body.
He even regretted coming to see the entity that Alt had become.
To deduce this much through simple behavioral analysis and basic data searches...
Johnny also put aside his thoughts about Alt for the moment and looked at Alex with suspicion.
Facing their gazes, Alex quickly regained his composure.
"No matter what I am, at least I bring benefits to you, including this cooperation."
"I believe you," Alt said without hesitation.
"…"
Those four words sent Alex's prepared explanations back down his throat.
Clearing his throat, he began to explain his purpose to Alt.
"We came to ask for your help in destroying the Oracle."
"I can find a way to help you access the Oracle's server port, and you can handle the rest."
"As for what you gain from this, you probably know better than I do."
Alt nodded: "If I can access the Oracle, it will cease to exist."
"But how will you get me into the Oracle? I've created countless AIs, and none have been able to get in."
Alex smiled slightly: "Don't worry about that, I have my own way."
"I believe you."
Alt still didn't hesitate. She waved her hand, and Alex's operating system began downloading data packets.
"This is the address of the BBS, which will serve as our private communication channel."
After the data was downloaded, Alt turned to leave.
"Alt!" Johnny couldn't help but call out again. "Before you go, can we talk? Just you and me."
"It's not possible."
With that, Alt's figure vanished instantly.
And Alex felt his vision blur as his consciousness returned to his body.
He looked at the instruments around him, the ice water he was submerged in, and Brigitte and the others stepping down from their hacker chairs.
A sneer appeared at the corner of Alex's mouth!
