[Teleportation Target: Node 1 (Azur Lane Port) → Node 3 (Chaldea)]
Through the dimensional anchor, Setsuna, along with several shipgirls, Gudako, and Heroic Spirits, quickly arrived at Chaldea.
The scene was still the familiar deep interior hall, with the Chaldeas—an orb resembling a holographic globe—placed at its center. Points of light on its surface marked the various Singularities.
Dr. Roman and Da Vinci had been waiting for some time, ready to provide a detailed briefing.
"Mr. Setsuna, thank you again for assisting Chaldea,"
Da Vinci said with a polite nod.
"This time, the target of the Rayshift is in the 1st-century Roman Empire. The timeline from that era has been warped by an unknown force."
"Your mission is to eliminate the anomalies, retrieve the Holy Grail, and restore history to its proper trajectory."
Roman added, looking slightly apologetic.
"It's fine. As agreed, I'll help you resolve these Singularities."
Setsuna waved off their concerns.
His team would provide the manpower and strength, while Chaldea offered the technical means to support their mission. In return, he could gain access to Type-Moon's magical lore and summon more Heroic Spirits—a mutually beneficial arrangement.
"Ritsuka Fujimaru, how have things been on your side? Have you been studying magic diligently?"
Da Vinci grabbed Gudako by the arm, eager to hear about her progress.
"I've mastered the operation of a specific combat mechanism and learned over twenty corresponding spells. Don't worry, I can now hold my own against most Servants."
"My close combat skills are practically on par with a Saber-class!"
Gudako proudly puffed out her chest.
"Ohhh—!"
Roman and Da Vinci appeared impressed, nodding in approval.
"A combat mechanism? Is it some kind of summoning magic? Well, that works too…"
"…"
Setsuna and the shipgirls exchanged silent glances, marveling at Gudako's impressive ability to phrase her words in ways that made her achievements sound... traditional.
After some light conversation, the group moved to the Rayshift control area.
"Well then, I'll be taking command of this operation,"
Setsuna cleared his throat and began briefing everyone.
He explained the details of the Eternal Madness Empire Singularity, where, in the 1st-century Roman Empire, an anomaly had caused numerous Roman emperors from different eras to appear and clash with each other.
Their mission was to resolve this bizarre situation and either recover or destroy the Greater Holy Grail.
"This mission has three objectives," Setsuna began.
"First, repair the historical anomalies in this era."
"Second, deal with the Greater Holy Grail."
"Third, recruit some Heroic Spirits from this era to bring back with us."
"Understood."
On their second expedition, the team had become far more proficient. They stood in well-practiced formation in front of the Rayshift device.
The lineup included Formidable, Yat Sen, Belfast, Gudako, Jeanne d'Arc, Artoria, and Setsuna himself—a total of seven people. This was the current maximum capacity of the Rayshift system.
"Well then, may you have the best of luck."
Dr. Roman finished his blessing and activated the device.

[Second Singularity: The City of Seven Hills]
...
A brief wave of dizziness overcame them. Their vision contracted into a black dot before abruptly expanding again.
When they opened their eyes, they found themselves in a setting similar to the first Singularity in Orléans—wide, open wilderness.
In the distance, rolling hills stretched endlessly, interspersed with lush, verdant forests.
This was the 1st century AD, even more primitive than the Hundred Years' War era of Orléans.
"Scout the surroundings and locate the ley lines," Setsuna ordered.
"Yat Sen, project your hull. We're going to speedrun this Singularity."
As a seasoned second-run player, Setsuna had no need to slog through the original story's slow progression or cater to various factions.
With a starship on their side, they could simply fly straight to their objective, eliminating obstacles as they went.
"Understood."
Yat Sen materialized her elegant, azure hull.
Shwish—
A 600-meter-long cruiser appeared on the open ground.
Though smaller than Belfast's or Formidable's starships, Yat Sen's vessel exuded a distinct grace and charm.
Once aboard the bridge, the interior revealed a beautiful, classical Eastern aesthetic.
The furnishings were crafted from polished wood; a hanging octagonal lantern illuminated the space, and a folding screen adorned with traditional landscape paintings provided a sense of refinement.
A subtle aroma of incense lingered in the air, completing the serene ambiance.
Everything was perfectly in harmony with Yat Sen's cultivated demeanor.
"So beautiful, it feels completely different from the styles of the Royal Navy or Sakura Empire," Gudako exclaimed, her eyes darting around in awe.
"Accompanying the Commander on a mission is my honor," Yat Sen replied with a gentle smile.
"I will follow orders and assist you in conquering this world."
The refined woman, draped in her long black hair, led everyone into the control room.
Boom—
Under the propulsion of plasma engines, the starship slowly ascended into the sky.
At the same time, several reconnaissance drones launched from the enclosed hangar, scattering in all directions.
"Commander, based on the coordinates, we are currently near Italy—or, in this era's terms, the Roman Empire," Yat Sen reported promptly.
"Rome is just ahead. Please take a look."
Through the windows, nestled among a series of hills, a moderately sized city came into view.
The City of Seven Hills: Rome.
The Roman Empire, once a sprawling dominion spanning Europe, North Africa, and parts of Asia, was one of history's largest and most influential universal empires.
Its culture shaped the trajectory of countless successor states, from Greece and Western Europe to the distant Rus, many of whom claimed its legacy.
Yet, from the perspective of modern starship travelers, this world's Roman Empire seemed antiquated. Its capital was no more than one-thirtieth the size of the Starsea Alliance's grand metropolis.
"We're far more advanced. We are the real Roman Empire," Gudako declared, hands on her hips, completely discarding her identity as Chaldea's Master and adopting that of the Starsea Alliance.
"I'll remind you, we're currently a confederation," Formidable teased, shaking her head.
"That's fine. We can change the system later. You become emperor and grant me a title, like shogun or something," Gudako suggested, patting Setsuna on the shoulder.
"What?!"
"Besides, it's all up to the Master anyway… Whether it's a confederation or an empire, isn't it pretty much the same?" Jeanne d'Arc chimed in, scratching her head.
As the group debated whether to stick with the name Starsea Alliance or rebrand as the Starsea Empire, Yat Sen suddenly pointed out the window.
"Commander, there's a skirmish happening below."
"One side is a Roman legion of approximately twenty thousand soldiers, made up of ordinary humans. The other side numbers only a few dozen… and it seems there's a Servant among them."
Setsuna looked down to see the scene.
Amid the chaos of the battlefield, a young woman, strikingly similar in appearance to Artoria Pendragon, clad in a red-and-white dress, wielded a longsword with unmatched grace.
Compared to the poorly armored Roman soldiers surrounding her, she stood out like a phoenix among chickens.
"Well, isn't this a coincidence? Isn't that Nero Claudius, the Umu Emperor?"
…
Outside the outskirts of Rome.
A golden-haired, green-eyed girl dressed in a red, ornate gown led her personal guard into battle against an overwhelming enemy force.
In her hands, she wielded a crimson greatsword, its blade inscribed with the Latin phrase, "Heaven and Hell."
"Umu, there's so many of them…"
"Who are you people, and why have you suddenly appeared in my territory?!"
The girl grumbled in frustration as she fought fiercely.
Though her strength as a Heroic Spirit far exceeded that of ordinary humans, she was not technically a Servant in this world.
As such, she was unable to utilize her Anti-Army Noble Phantasm.
Against an enemy numbering hundreds or even thousands of times more than her forces, she found herself in a desperate situation.
"I am Nero Claudius, the fifth emperor of the Roman Empire! Retreat from my lands at once!"
Just as she roared her defiance, a deep humming sound filled the air above.
Looking up, she froze as a colossal starship descended overhead, its plasma thrusters radiating intense heat that distorted the atmosphere.
The 600-meter-long vessel hovered above, casting a shadow so large it blotted out the sun.
"What… what is that?!"
The soldiers on the battlefield, both allies and enemies, paused mid-action, gawking at the foreign leviathan.
Most of them wielded rudimentary weapons made of bronze—spears, swords, javelins, slings, and simple bows.
"Commander, you're bullying the locals again."
Watching the spectacle below, Formidable couldn't help but stifle a laugh.
"Veteran players returning to farm the tutorial levels—this is just how it goes," Setsuna replied with a shrug.
"Yat Sen, show them a little color, and bring Nero aboard while you're at it."
Boom—
The starship's side-mounted secondary cannons roared to life. Against an era of cold weapons, there was no need for the main artillery.
A few torpedoes and small-caliber shells were more than enough to obliterate the Roman forces, scattering them like leaves in a storm.
Nero stood in stunned silence as the starship unleashed its firepower. The opposing army was utterly annihilated, reduced to mere particles in moments.
Within minutes, the surrounding area, spanning several kilometers, was left cratered and scarred, dotted with smoldering craters.
Then, Yat Sen's ship gracefully descended before her, the hull towering like a mountain.
Standing on the bridge, Setsuna extended a hand and called out to her.
"Comrade, let us revive Rome and save the world together."
