A Perfect and Wise Life in Confinement (9)

I stood up from my seat, blankly staring at Sa Hae-geon, and went into the room with the excuse of taking a short break. My head was pounding. Sa Hae-geon’s face as he nonchalantly replied to my statement that it was impossible filled my mind.

‘It was possible though? I’ve been enduring with wave regulators and suppressants. You may not believe me, but it’s the truth.’

In my past five kidnapping experiences, I never felt an ounce of sympathy for the kidnappers, but Sa Hae-geon’s words strangely bothered me. I found it quite absurd and surprising that my mind was even considering his perspective.

Wasn’t the only difference between the other kidnappers and Sa Hae-geon his excellent cooking skills, completely insane mind, pretty face that stood out anywhere, and a body that drew admiration even in strange clothes?

No, wait. Aren’t those actually huge differences? Especially his extremely attractive appearance.

‘I’m not usually one to judge based on looks, but…’

Of course, I agree that Sa Hae-geon’s face is exceptionally handsome, but to think it could sway my heart like this…

“I should be careful.”

If Sa Hae-geon notices my inner thoughts and deliberately appeals with his face and body, I may fall for it hook, line and sinker. It seemed best to prevent that in advance.

‘Still…’

Although he’s a lunatic who put me in a prison uniform, he’s provided such a nice environment, unexpectedly gifted me a long vacation, prepared perfect meals, readily agreed to bring Cream, and has quite the impressive face and body…

‘Maybe I should guide him a bit.’

Of course, this was all so I wouldn’t forget how to guide during the vacation. As a Central Center Guide, forgetting how to guide would be a big problem.

“Right, no other reason.”

I nodded, trying hard to rationalize it to myself. Even knowing that guiding Sa Hae-geon may unintentionally stimulate him and prolong the confinement period, I just wanted to do it.

Looking at it another way, maybe I could get him hooked on my guiding, and then demand he stop the confinement, saying I’ll guide him at the Center from now on. Wouldn’t that be a plausible safety measure?

I thought it was a really good plan. It wouldn’t be bad for Sa Hae-geon either. He was blabbering about only wanting my guiding to begin with, so he’d surely be very pleased.

Having organized my thoughts, the complexity in my head cleared considerably. The throbbing had also ceased at some point. In this state, I felt I could talk to Sa Hae-geon again.

Opening the bedroom door and entering the living room, I saw Sa Hae-geon sitting on the sofa, immersed in something. His large hands were busily moving, holding a crochet hook and light blue yarn. As I carefully tried to sit next to him, Sa Hae-geon raised his gaze and looked at me.

“…What?”

“Didn’t you say you were going to rest in your room?”

“Yeah. Oh, you know how to crochet too? What are you making?”

Unable to help feeling awkward at Sa Hae-geon’s question, I rambled incoherently.

“A knit vest. I thought it would look pretty on you.”

“Oh, oh… I see, thank you. It happens to be my favorite color.”

“Yes. But you only rested for ten minutes, are you sure you’re done resting?”

“Ah, about that.”

I opened my mouth while watching Sa Hae-geon focus on crocheting again.

“You said you wanted to be guided by me. Should I guide you? Of course, checking the matching rate first is the proper order…”

Before I could finish, Sa Hae-geon put down his crocheting and grabbed my shoulders. He looked at me with eyes full of surprise and asked,

“Do you mean it?”

Sa Hae-geon’s face as he asked in an earnest voice was so pretty it made me hold my breath without realizing it. His long eyelashes trembled, his deep blue eyes resembling the deep sea were moist, and his red lips were tightly pursed as if he was nervous.

Forgetting to breathe, I absentmindedly admired Sa Hae-geon’s face before belatedly realizing.

‘…Is this what they call a face attack or something?’

Whenever people warned about being careful of celebrities’ or handsome Espers’ face attacks, I wondered what the fuss was about, but they were right. The face attack of Sa Hae-geon, a kidnapper and Esper, was extremely fatal to me.

– Content: A press conference by the Minister of ESP Affairs was held today around 12:10 PM. The Minister announced the disappearance of S-Class Guide Chae Do-min as an ‘unauthorized vacation,’ making the bombshell remark that he actually has an irresponsible side that enjoys ‘vacations due to kidnapping.’

The problematic remarks didn’t end there. The Minister of ESP Affairs revealed he believes ‘sacrificing for the people and country is inevitable for high-class Guides and high-class Espers,’ drawing ire from high-class ESP users.

.

.

.

However, the Minister’s remarks don’t seem to have greatly damaged the public’s trust in Chae Do-min. Even if the Minister’s claim that Chae Do-min enjoys being kidnapped is true, the prevailing opinion is that he has justifiable reasons for it.

Meanwhile, there are growing voices of suspicion calling for a close investigation into how much the ESP Affairs Ministry has contributed to improving Guide treatment and how they have strived to do so. Therefore, the Ministry is expected to become busy working to improve Guide treatment, if only to clear up public misunderstanding and shake off the nickname ‘Ministry of Incompetence.’

The incompetent Minister does it again today^^ㅎ

Please just fall into hell, damn bastard

⤷ Anonymous G. 21 – If you were gonna transfer you should’ve done it way earlier, it’s too late now, transferring is pointless, corporations aren’t stupid.. They’ll be grinning ear to ear thinking about using Guides for cheap if they flock over, same for Espers, Espers will set even harsher conditions to take them in, there’s no merit for them since Espers are already overflowing, unless an S-Class Esper appears ㅇㅇ Conclusion is just staying put is better
