Clan Cultivation: Starting from Beast Taming

Red-Eyed Dragon Sparrow, Dragon Claw Giant Lizard, Dragon Scale Horse.

These were the main types of Demon Beasts the Zhou Family had brought back from the White Dragon sub-temple.

And each of these Demon Beasts had its own unique characteristics.

The Red-Eyed Dragon Sparrow was a flying Demon Beast that could carry several Cultivators in flight at once, making it an excellent Mount Beast for those at the Foundation Establishment Stage.

The Dragon Claw Giant Lizard was enormous in size and adept at carrying heavy loads, capable of transporting twenty or thirty people a thousand miles in a day, and was a great helper for fast personnel movement and bulk goods transportation.

The Dragon Scale Horse was about the same size as the Ink Scale Steed but was much faster and more enduring, as well as having strong swimming abilities, capable of crossing large rivers and lakes. It also possessed considerable combat strength, making it an excellent mount for solo travels.

Of the fifty-seven Demon Beasts the Zhou Family brought back from the White Dragon sub-temple, the Red-Eyed Dragon Sparrows were the least in number, with merely nine; the Dragon Claw Giant Lizards were the second most numerous, totaling fifteen.

The most numerous were the Dragon Scale Horses, which numbered thirty-three in total.

Dragon Descendant Demon Beasts were naturally ferocious, and even the relatively tame Dragon Scale Horses were still competitive and combative.

Therefore, these Demon Beasts could not yet coexist with other Demon Beasts in the Zhou Family Beast Garden, to prevent them from seeing the others as enemies and hunting them.

Thus, on the suggestion of Zhou Daoquan, Zhou Chun and others arranged for the three kinds of Demon Beasts to be placed in three different locations.

The Red-Eyed Dragon Sparrows were settled on the most secluded Hexagon Peak, overseen by Elder Zhou Jiapeng of the Sixth Peak, whose Spirit Pet, the Golden Winged Iron Feather Hawk, barely managed to subdue this group of fierce birds.

The Dragon Claw Giant Lizards were placed in the forests below Baozhi Peak, guarded by Elder Zhou Jiahe of the Fifth Peak.

As for the numerous Dragon Scale Horses, they were settled in the hills and valleys between three mountains. No Elder was assigned to watch over them; instead, a Vajra Spirit Monkey was tasked with keeping them within that area and not allowing them to roam free.

Now, with a great battle approaching, the Zhou Family didn't have the time or energy to train these Demon Beasts and could only temporarily settle them down to get used to their new environment.

They would slowly find time to tame them after the battle had concluded.

For this reason, even the people in charge of feeding these Demon Beasts were still the same three Cultivators from the Dragon Transformation Sect who had initially brought them back.

Fortunately, these Dragon Descendant Demon Beasts mostly ate meat; even the Dragon Scale Horses had a diet that was half meat, half grass.

Otherwise, the Zhou Family would have had to expend a great deal of manpower just to prepare food for these Demon Beasts.

After settling the Demon Beasts, Zhou Chun and the others started to sort through the spoils of the southern expedition. The Spiritual Medicines that needed immediate handling were all first recorded and sent to Hundred Medicines Peak to be processed by professionals, while the rest of the items were temporarily sealed in the Family Treasure Vault for later disposition.

In short, the next time they left home, they wouldn't need to carry these miscellaneous items in their Storage Pouches.

Having arranged these urgent matters, Zhou Chun started to assist with some family affairs while waiting for the trial results of Zhou Mingde and Zhou Daoyi on Zhang Shi'an.

"Zhengchun, send someone to the Zhang Family with this jade slip," Zhou Daoyi said inside the Central Peace Hall after descending from the summit abode, handing a jade slip to Zhou Chun. "Give it directly to the Clan Leader of the Zhang Family, Zhang Kaida. He'll know what to do with it."

From his words, Zhou Chun immediately guessed the content of their conversation at the summit abode.

Therefore, as he reached for the jade slip, he asked, "Is it to demand a ransom from the Zhang Family in exchange for their people?" Experience more content on My Virtual Library Empire

"Exactly. It wouldn't be right to kill someone at this time, and keeping him imprisoned means having to arrange guards," Zhou Daoyi sighed slightly and nodded in response.

"The fellow is really lucky, just so happens we are in need of people right now," Zhou Chun shook his head and without further ado, took the jade slip and went to find the Third Elder, Zhou Daoquan, and requested him to make a trip to Tiantai Mountain to deliver the message to the Zhang Family.

Because of the speed of communication, the Zhang Family had yet to learn that their Supreme Elder, Zhang Shi'an, had been captured on the spot by the Zhou Family.

It wasn't until Zhou Daoquan arrived at Tiantai Mountain with the jade slip made by Zhang Shi'an himself and handed it to the already returned Clan Leader of Zhang Family, Zhang Kaida, that the matter became known to the Zhang Family.

Without a doubt, this news was like a thunderbolt from a clear sky for Zhang Kaida and the Zhang Family Cultivators, completely stupefying them.

Zhang Kaida was naturally aware of the Supreme Elder's fixation on the Zhou Family.

But he had never imagined that not only had the mission of Zhang Shi'an and Fu Mingtao failed, but the Supreme Elder himself had been captured alive by the Zhou Family!

Had the jade slip not mentioned various treasures owned by the Zhang Family with utter precision, and had Zhang Kaida not been certain that the Zhou Family would not stoop to using something so easily verified as false to deceive them, he might have suspected this to be a ruse by the Zhou Family.

"I've delivered the message, as for what to do, Taoist Friend Zhang should decide for yourself," Zhou Daoquan, watching the stunned and shocked Zhang Kaida, took secret pleasure and left with just a few words, then departed from the Zhang Family.

Zhang Kaida didn't even speak to detain him for any inquiry and just watched him go in a daze.

Only after Zhou Daoquan had gone far did Zhang Kaida snap back to reality, biting his teeth and exclaiming in a loud voice, "Zhou Family, what a move from the Zhou Family!"

Then he hurriedly set people to gather information everywhere while he himself convened all the Zhang Family high-level officials to discuss the ransom.
