Celestial Echoes: Love Across Realms

Chapter 25: Unspoken Promises

The celestial night was calm, a rare moment of peace in the God Realm. Sara sat on the balcony of her palace, gazing at the twinkling stars above. The gentle breeze carried the scent of divine blossoms, but her thoughts were elsewhere—on a certain fire-wielding god who had been invading her heart more than she cared to admit.

She didn't need to turn around to know he was there. She could feel his presence, warm and steady, like a flame flickering in the darkness.

"You shouldn't be alone," Ignatius said, stepping beside her. "Not when there's so much happening."

Sara chuckled softly, her fingers tracing patterns on the cool marble railing. "Alone? When have I ever truly been alone with you hovering around?"

Ignatius smirked. "You make it sound like a bad thing."

She glanced at him, the corner of her lips curving. "I never said it was."

A comfortable silence settled between them. The stars above shimmered brighter, as if listening to their unspoken words.

After a moment, Ignatius exhaled and leaned against the railing beside her. "You're different, Sara."

She arched a brow. "Oh? In what way?"

"You're not just the Chief God who commands power and authority. You're also the girl who finds joy in mischief, the one who laughs when she's supposed to be serious, and the one who somehow makes even the darkest moments feel lighter." He looked at her then, his golden eyes burning into hers. "You make me feel things I never thought I would."

Her breath hitched. She had always known there was something between them, something deep and unshakable. But hearing it from him made her heart race in a way she wasn't prepared for.

"You make me feel things too," she admitted, her voice softer than a whisper.

Ignatius reached out, his fingers brushing against hers on the railing. It was a simple touch, yet it sent warmth coursing through her.

"You know," he murmured, "if you keep looking at me like that, I might do something reckless."

Sara smirked, tilting her head playfully. "And since when do you fear being reckless?"

A slow, dangerous smile spread across his face. "You're right. I don't."

Before she could react, he closed the space between them, his lips mere inches from hers. The air grew thick with tension, their divine energies intertwining in a silent dance.

But just as the moment threatened to break into something more, a sudden gust of wind carried the distant sound of bells ringing from the main temple. A summons.

Sara sighed, pulling back. "Duty calls."

Ignatius groaned, shaking his head. "Remind me to destroy whoever interrupted us."

She laughed, stepping away. But as she walked inside, she glanced over her shoulder and said, "Maybe next time, Ignatius."

And with that, she left him standing there, his golden eyes filled with unspoken promises.
