Blue Lock: Isagi the egoist

Chapter 33: Ubers Vs PXG

After weeks of grueling training, Italy's Ubers were finally set to play their first match in the Neo Egoist League.

And their opponent?

France's PXG.

A team built around the flair of Julien Loki, the young prodigy, and the hottest talent in France.

But for Isagi Yoichi, this match wasn't just about winning.

It was a test.

Loki had lost to him before. Would that loss have pushed him to evolve, or did it break him?

Was he finally a complete player, or had he become nothing more than a Speed Merchant—a player who over-relied on his pace and nothing else?

The answers would be revealed on the battlefield.

As Isagi walked onto the pitch, he noticed the death glare aimed directly at him.

Rin Itoshi.

Standing amongst PXG's elite, Rin looked murderous.

Not only was Isagi on the opposite team, but standing beside him was Itoshi Sae—his estranged brother and the very person he hated most.

To have both his biggest rivals lined up against him in the same match?

Rin's blood boiled.

As the players took their positions, the announcer went over the special rules for the Neo Egoist League.

📌 First to Three Goals Wins – No time limit. The game ends when a team scores three goals.

📌 Unlimited Substitutions – Any player can be subbed in or out at any time.

📌 Masters Have a 3-Minute Limit – Each team's Master Striker can play for only three minutes in a match.

This format was brutal.

A high-speed war of tactics and execution.

And it suited Italy's Ubers perfectly.

The whistle blew.

⚽ PXG had possession first.

As expected, Loki took control, using his insane acceleration to burst forward immediately, dodging defenders with effortless grace.

But before he could even create a chance—

💥 Barou slammed into him, forcing a turnover.

"Tch. Speed alone ain't enough." Barou sneered, flicking his hair back.

From that moment on, Italy's Ubers activated their system.

Their goal in this format was simple—score quickly.

They didn't need 90 minutes of slow buildup.

They needed high-intensity dominance, immediate punishment, and ruthless execution.

And who better to take control than Isagi Yoichi?

As Ubers pushed forward, Isagi took in everything.

🧠 His peripheral vision expanded, a precursor to Metavision kicking in. A form of Holding back his vision by Isagi.

He assessed PXG's defensive structure.

And he found the weakness.

The French side had elite forwards, including Rin and Loki, but their defense was lacking.

Their backline was disorganized, too focused on pressing without maintaining their shape.

A fatal mistake.

"Punish them."

He raised his hand in the air, signaling.

⚽ Sae immediately reacted.

From the right side of the pitch, he struck a beautiful, curling cross into the box.

Isagi darted forward, reading the flight of the ball perfectly.

The defenders barely reacted in time.

As the ball descended, Isagi did something audacious.

He leapt.

And with perfect timing—

💥 BICYCLE KICK.

His body flipped backward, his left foot striking the ball cleanly as he sent it soaring into the top corner.

🔥 GOAL! 🔥

1-0 Ubers.

The stadium erupted.

And just like that—

Italy had set the tone.

As Isagi landed, he turned to see Rin's face.

A mixture of disbelief, anger, and unfiltered rage.

To be one step behind Isagi.

To see his brother feeding him perfect passes.

It was pure torture.

And yet, deep inside, something snapped within Rin.

He would not allow himself to be outshined.

Not now. Not ever.

As PXG prepared for their counterattack—

The war had only just begun.
