Blood of the Ancients

Chapter 11: First Day

Yves entered the classroom and was again greeted by children half his age. In the background, the teacher is talking to Leia while Fabio tries his best not to stare at the teacher's beauty.

"What is your name.?" An enthusiastic kid asked Yves.

"My name is Yves. What is your name?"

"My name is Andrew." The kid pointed at a little girl drawing on her bright pink coloring book.

"Her name is Lily; she's my sister."

Yves looked at the girl, and he gave a small smile to the girl.

"Everyone, are you ready for today's lesson?" Ms. Sofia asked with enthusiasm.

"Yes!" A unison of all the kids, including Yves, replied with enthusiasm.

Yves' first lesson was very simple, as it is a simple bedtime story about many different mythologies in a fun and child-friendly manner.

The lessons were followed with playtime where the kids normally replayed the story.

All three times Yves was the monster while the kids were the heroes. Yves, not wanting to lose to a child, tried his best to make his sleigh as annoying as humanly possible, but no matter how much he tried, the kids always found a way to defeat Yves.

After an hour of him being in the class, the bell rang, signifying the kids' lunch and the passing period for the others. It was time for Yves to leave, and the kids waved him goodbye as he left with Leia, who was waiting at the door for him.

"What is your second period?" Leia asked, before grabbing the paper out of his hand.

"Ah, you have classes beside each other. They are on floor nine, so let's go."

Leia and Yves arrived at the ninth floor, where Yves saw a more mature environment. He was surprised at how much the style changed, but he was happy that he was left with the kids, as his energy was so low that he started to feel his age creeping on him.

Yves followed Leia; they reached a wooden door and knocked.

Knock, Knock, Knock

They waited and waited, but no one appeared. They both became increasingly annoyed, but before Leia could not again.

Boom

A large explosion caused the door to fly open; Leia just narrowly avoided it.

Yves became petrified as he saw a group of prepubescent teens running out of the door.

He moved out of the way and saw the teacher running and grabbing them and, like a claw machine, putting them back in his class.

"Your luck sucks." Leia looked at Yves with pity in her eyes.

"Fuck, what more can I do without losing my sanity?"

"I am sorry; it is just that teenagers are like this." The teacher came out and greeted Yves.

Leia saw the teacher, gave Yves a pat on his back with pity in her eyes, and left. This leaves Yves to start doubting the entire life choices that brought him into this situation.

"Welcome to 'Intro to Magic and Mana.'" The teacher extended his hand and greeted Yves.

"N-nice to meet you." Yves shook his hand while dying on the inside.

Yves entered the classroom and sat beside the most energetic people he had ever met.

The class is very simple, with them learning that everyone is unique and their mana can be developed.

Another hour passed, and Yves left the classroom dying on the inside and with no motivation.

Leia again appeared and guided him to the third floor.

Yves' spirits went up again as he saw people his age walking the hallways with the same outfit as him. The people in his first two classes wear pure white outfits with the children with marks of paint.

"We share this class so you can sit beside me." Leia guided Yves to the class.

Knock, Knock, Knock

An old scholarly man answered the door and let Yves and Leia inside without saying a word.

"Leia, what class is this?" Yves whispered in Leia's ear.

"This is creature development and connection. It is a hard class, so I wish you luck." Leia took out a piece of paper and started writing designs with no apparent meaning.

This was the longest hour in Yves's life, even though jail time passed faster. The teacher taught nothing but drawing many designs.

Time for the next period, and Leia again stole Yves' paper and walked to the tenth floor. Yves never thought he would miss those kids, but he was mostly surprised that Fabio was going to him on the tenth floor.

The rest of his classes were utter hell due to the constantly changing environment.

His third period was rest time, his fourth was the library, his fifth was the training center, his sixth period was "Advanced Mythological Control," and his seventh was "Intro to Mythological Control.

His seventh was the most interesting as he realized that his children aren't very innocent but have or are planning to have a mythological creature. Some of the children are stronger than Yves.

Yves's eighth period begins again with the prepubescent teens on "Opposites Attract," another interesting class, as it mostly talks about how the beings are found and how they are captured.

Yves' ninth and tenth periods were again with Leia on "advanced history and intro to higher levels."

Yves was confused about why history is necessary but then was educated that it was taught to teach people about the past so they to not make the same mistakes.

Higher levels were something that hurt Yves, as the people around him in that class were going to advance or were planning to advance this year, Yves was so far, but he still enjoys it.

Ring, ring, ring.

The final bell rang, and Yves was so exhausted for the day that he immediately went to his room and fell asleep.

"This is all boring. Isn't that right?"

"Yes, it is, but what can I do?" Yves asked Ink.

"Go and learn, then when you can control this amount of power, you will be able to go through my trial." Ink created an illusion of himself releasing ink out of his hands and creating any weapon he imagined.
