The crowd on the ground watched silently as the figure disappeared into the gate leading to another world. Slowly, murmurs broke out among them.
At that moment, Ōetsu Nimaiya appeared beside Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni and said coldly, "Yamamoto, is this the outcome you desired?"
Without waiting for a response, Nimaiya vanished in a blur, leaving only an afterimage behind.
Yamamoto, who had just begun to recover from his injuries, sighed deeply, recalling Nimaiya's words. His gaze darkened as he stood in contemplative silence.
In the crowd, a blue-haired man fixed his eyes on the direction in which Aaron had vanished.
"Kōga, let's go," said Kuchiki Ginrei, now aged but still commanding respect, as he turned to Kuchiki Kōga, who remained lost in thought.
"Yes, Master Ginrei," Kōga replied softly. He followed Ginrei quickly, glancing back at the sky several times as they departed.
News spread quickly across the Seireitei: Aaron had once again defied the Soul Society's laws and slain members of the Central 46 Chambers.
Meanwhile, in a secluded mansion within the Seireitei, a group of Shinigami clad in black Shihakushō gathered to discuss recent events.
"That wretched traitor! How dare he kill my mentor!" one man shouted, trembling with rage.
"My father was also among the victims. I will not rest until I avenge him!" another added.
"Calm yourselves," interrupted a third. "Aaron is a fugitive. It's not as if we can simply track him down."
"And what if we do?" a skeptical voice chimed in. "Even Yamamoto wasn't able to defeat him!"
As the group argued, a portly Shinigami cleared his throat and silenced the room with a sharp, dismissive snort. "Enough! I didn't call you all here to bicker. I have a plan—one that might interest you."
The room fell quiet as the gathered Shinigami leaned in, listening to the portly man's scheme.
In the days that followed, a rebel faction began to form within the Soul Society. Comprised of Shinigami from varying ranks and divisions, they shared one common trait: all had connections to the slain members of the Central 46.
Yamamoto, now recovered from his wounds, issued an order to suppress the rebel forces. Among those deployed were Kuchiki Ginrei and his son-in-law, Kuchiki Kōga.
On the battlefield, Ginrei stood atop a hill, watching the chaos below. Blood from fallen Sixth Division members stained the earth.
"Master Ginrei! Leave this to me," Kōga said with a bow before leaping down from the hill. He landed gracefully amidst the fray, unsheathing his Zanpakutō.
"Whisper, Muramasa," he intoned softly.
A malevolent purple light erupted from Muramasa, spreading outward. The rebels froze, horrified as their Zanpakutō refused to obey their commands.
"No... this can't be!" cried one rebel, only for his comrades to turn on him in a frenzy of cannibalistic violence.
Ginrei observed the scene from the hill with a furrowed brow. His expression tightened as memories of past conflicts clouded his thoughts.
Later that evening, Kōga returned to the Kuchiki manor, brimming with excitement. He hurried to Ginrei's study.
"Master Ginrei! I've been appointed captain of the Special Operations Squad by Commander Yamamoto!" Kōga exclaimed.
Ginrei turned to face him with a solemn expression. After a long pause, he said, "Kōga, while your strength and abilities are remarkable, I hope you come to understand the weight of the responsibilities you now bear. This appointment is not just an honor—it is also a test."
Kōga barely registered his father-in-law's words. In his heart, he felt he was now closer to emulating the figure he idolized most: his former mentor, Aaron.
With Kuchiki Kōga assuming the role of Captain of the Special Operations Unit, a sinister conspiracy quickly takes shape, targeting him.
One day, after a successful mission to eliminate hostile threats, Kōga celebrated with his jubilant subordinates. However, the atmosphere abruptly shifted.
A piercing scream echoed as Kōga's men collapsed one by one, and a group of Shinigami clad in standard Shihakushō surrounded him.
"Kuchiki Kōga! How dare you betray your comrades? Apprehend him!" the lead Shinigami roared with fury.
Kōga's eyes flashed with cold determination. He spoke in a calm but commanding tone:
"Bankai! Mugen no Kagi—Muramasa!"
Just as the Shinigami prepared to strike, a strange figure clad in a white robe appeared beside Kōga, seemingly out of thin air.
Kōga glanced at his enemies with disdain before addressing the newcomer, "I'll leave this to you, Muramasa."
The white-robed man, Muramasa, slightly tilted his head, his gaze sharp and calculating. Without a word, he raised his hand, and an eerie purple light enveloped their opponents. When the glow faded, shadowy figures materialized around the Shinigami like vengeful phantoms.
Screams filled the air as the shadows executed the intruders with ruthless precision.
Kuchiki Kōga surveyed the fallen with a disdainful sneer. Just as he turned to leave, another squad of Shinigami surrounded him. This time, an obese officer stepped forward, bellowing, "Kuchiki Kōga! How dare you slaughter your comrades and other squad members! Arrest him!"
Among the group were two familiar figures: Yamamoto Genryūsai Shigekuni and Kuchiki Ginrei. Kōga's expression tightened as Ginrei interrupted his attempt to explain.
"Kōga, surrender. Resistance is futile," Ginrei declared firmly, his tone laden with disappointment.
Staring at Ginrei and Yamamoto, Kōga realized the hopelessness of his situation. He was detained in a temporary prison, where Ginrei later visited him. Before Kōga could explain, Ginrei spoke solemnly:
"Kōga, I understand your frustration. However, Captain Yamamoto placed you in the Special Operations Unit because your Zanpakutō's powers were deemed... dangerous. Your strength is feared, not trusted."
Kōga's eyes widened in disbelief. "Feared? My abilities?"
Ginrei sighed. "Muramasa's power is too potent. It reminds them of someone else—your mentor and idol."
Hearing this, Kōga's face darkened. Memories of his teacher's persecution surfaced, and he realized he was treading a similar path.
"You idolize him," Ginrei continued. "But while he defied the rules with his strength, you must understand—he was a monster, Kōga. You are a genius, but you are not him."
Kōga's shock turned to defiance. "I am innocent! This is all a conspiracy! My Zanpakutō's power is no crime!"
Later that night, Kōga's outrage boiled over. As he roared in frustration, Muramasa reappeared. "Master, I am here," the spirit of his Zanpakutō said, enveloped in a sinister glow.
Meanwhile, in a Seireitei mansion, conspirators celebrated Kōga's downfall. Their mocking laughter was abruptly silenced by a wave of murderous intent. Moments later, a violet beam erupted from the mansion, leaving nothing but destruction in its wake.
Yamamoto and Ginrei traced the chaotic Reiatsu to Kōga, who had escaped imprisonment. A fierce battle ensued, with Yamamoto ultimately sealing Kōga using the Ketsu Fūjin Kekkai technique.
As Ginrei looked on, shaken, Yamamoto mused aloud, "Ginrei, do you think I have been wrong all these years? Does this remind you of Aaron?"
Ginrei hesitated before answering, "Perhaps Kōga and Aaron were destined to share this fate."
Far away, Aaron stepped through a colossal gate, finding himself in a realm unlike Soul Society or Hueco Mundo. A foreboding energy surrounded him, with a vast abyss below and floating cubes above. As he surveyed the eerie landscape, he realized: this was Hell in the Shinigami's world.
