Chapter 13: chapter 13 The prophesied child
You don't have to be cautious around me Ethan" Alexander replied with a sigh. " What happened? " Ethan asked as he stood at the side of Alexander.
They both were staring at the half moon, the view looked so serene, with two handsome men basking in the dim light of the moon, with burnt trees and hot charcoal in the background. The tall trees could be seen from afar of. A Big circle of black debris and ash from the burnt forest surrounded them.
"I have found the prophesied child," Alexander answered calmly. " what? How? Where?" Ethan bombarded him with questions, he literally lost his cool " why are we standing here, let go and end her right now" he hastily said as his eyes were full of worries, he wasn't ready to lose his best friend, the prophesied child is an enemy of him.
"Her?" Alexander asked, rolling his eyes, " it is a He, you have seen him, you even pleaded for his life" he said with disdain. " huh?" Ethan was taken aback at this information.
"Huh" Alexander replied back, he stretched his hand toward the sky, he closed his fist as if trying to catch the moon." Impossible, what about if you are wrong" Ethan couldn't believe the turn of events.
Alexander closed his eyes, clenching his fist " I am never wrong Ethan" he said with a dry laugh, his voice filled with malicious intent. Ethan quickly covered his mouth with his hand.
" You are right, you are never wrong " he quickly corrected. " I just know, " Alexander added as he closed his eyes enjoying the breeze. " Tomorrow we will complete our mission" he added as he inhaled deeply.
The scene of the incident flashed through his mind. For some weird reason, her neck was too smooth and soft for a man. He could not forget those eyes, " what a waste tsk tsk tsk" he clicked his tongue as the thought of never seeing the beautiful pair of eyes again.
He liked how he could easily read the emotions in his eyes, his scent was sweet and refreshing to his nose, he loved how easily he was scared. His face scrunched up as he realised what was trailing in his thoughts.
" Let's go back to the palace," Alexander said as he began to walk towards the palace. Ethan looked at the big area of the forest that was burnt, he shaked his head " poor plant, too bad you couldn't run for your life" he said as he wiped his tearless eyes.
" Ethan" Alexander called out as he noticed he wasn't walking behind him, " what? I am sympathising with the trees, I am not as heartless as you" Ethan exclaimed, walking towards him.

(Back in the banquet)
Prince Ezekiel and Emily have finished dancing. " Thank you for having this dance with me" she said with courtesy to him.
" It is okay, it was a pleasure to have this dance with you " he replied politely.
" Why isn't your sister here?" He probed subtly as he led her to her seat. A displeased look flashed through her face, but she quickly masked it with a smile.
" she isn't feeling well, so she wasn't able to come" she had a worried look on her face, as if she really cared about Calista.
" I would love it, if I could be able to meet her " he dreamingly said, in spite of the fact that he has an inkling that the man who was called Cal could be her. But he wanted to confirm his suspicions.
" Why are you so interested in my younger sister? " Emily asked him with a frown on her face.
" Nothing, I am just curious, as to what she looks like, I have grown up with you but I have never got the chance to talk with her, you always say she was weak in health" Prince Ezekiel reasoned out.
He could not understand why they were trying so hard to keep her away from the public.
His mind travelled back to the time he first laid his eyes on her. It was a sunny afternoon with birds chirping and flying around in the sky. The blue skies were clear and bright.
He had gone to visit Beta Mateo with his father. He decided to go for a walk and immediately fell in love with a young girl with red fiery hair.
She was wearing a blue dress, her green eyes brimming with happiness, her lips curved in laughter, as she was chasing after the butterflies in the garden.
Her giggles were so pure and sweet to the ear. A pink butterfly perched on her hand, her smile widened as she brought the butterfly close to her face. She was very delighted to see that, but soon after this the butterfly flew away. This made young Calista to chase after it.
But in her world of euphoria, unbeknownst to her, Emily was coming, they bumped into each other, causing Emily's to bruise her hand.
He witnessed everything about how she was punished by her father, right there he promised to be the knight to save the damsel in distress.
" Prince Ezekiel" Emily's voice called him out of his thoughts. " I have to go now, I have to dance with the other ladies" he said politely with a bow before he left.
"Prin.." he was already gone before Emily could say anything, this made her frustrated. She can't believe that the only chance she got to chat with him was all about that jinxed Calista.
" How did it go, were you able to make a connection with him?" Rachel curiously asked Emily.
" No mother," she said with a bitter smile, it has been a long time since she last had a conversation with him. Rachel made a mind link with her husband Beta Mateo " execute plan B" she said staring at him, he only nodded at her. After the dance, it was now time for prince Ezekiel to choose a bride from the guest.
