Beauty and the Beasts: A Forbidden Love in a Mythical

Chapter 8: Chapter 3: The Hunt Begins

Under the moonlit sky, the front hall of the palace was filled with the sounds of music and laughter, and the rear palace was equally bustling with activity.

An elegant and luxurious manor was nestled in the southern part of the palace. Made of glazed tiles, it shimmered under the moonlight like a jewel.

Inside, Princess Qi, the seventh princess, was causing a commotion with the palace eunuchs and maidservants. She brandished her favorite whip, as those in the S&M room celebrated the union between the Kingdom of Yuhuang and the Kingdom of Xiaoxuan. The most beautiful and proud seventh princess was to be married to the most handsome and valiant King of the Wolf.

"Crack!" The whip struck Wan Ou's calf, snapping her out of her daze.

Wan Ou looked at her. Her purity was tied to this woman. Her fate was in her hands—she was her pawn, her scapegoat.

The seventh princess stared at Wan Ou, her expression cold. "This isn't fun anymore. You can leave."

Inside the room, people were half-naked—some kneeling, others lying down—some screaming in pain, others laughing joyously. They were all there to entertain the seventh princess, a true fox spirit, born with the ability to charm anyone, even the eunuchs, who cried out as if hearing celestial music.

Bright light from the grand hall spilled out, signaling that the banquet was not over. But Wan Ou had already made her way to the rear courtyard. Today, the palace was celebrating a grand event, and the rear courtyard was surprisingly quiet. The breeze blew gently, brushing against her face, calming the anger that had built up inside her.

Under the vast starry sky, osmanthus petals scattered, drifting onto her. She wore an elegant gown, chosen for tonight's luxurious banquet. The finest dress, the scent of the osmanthus in the air—it was as if the world had paused. She tilted her head, closed her eyes, and inhaled deeply, savoring the natural fragrance before opening her eyes again in satisfaction.

And then, a pair of green eyes met her gaze!

"Ah..." Wan Ou gasped, staring at the man who had suddenly appeared, his sharp, water-like eyes locking with hers.

The familiar green eyes stirred something in her memory…

Especially when those eyes took on a feral, invasive glint. She immediately widened her eyes in realization.

"Oh my god!" She remembered!

Instinctively, she turned to flee…

That was… the beautiful and familiar prey!

For the Wolf King, Dugu Lue, a palace banquet was nothing more than a form of restraint. How could he possibly stay there? He left the banquet and wandered alone through the palace halls.

At that moment, his eyes narrowed. His animal instinct, honed by years of hunting, told him that this was definitely his prey. And she—like a fairy, adorable yet exuding a fatal attraction—was from the Kingdom of Xiaoxuan, just as the legends had said...

His green eyes flared with fire as he saw her attempt to escape.

She wanted to run?

A smirk curled on his lips. Dugu Lue quickly stepped forward, chasing her down. The more something tried to escape him, the more he enjoyed the hunt!

"Ah..." Wan Ou screamed as her fleeing form was caught, thrown forcefully to the ground, pinned on the lush green grass. She furrowed her brow, feeling a sharp pain on her back. "It hurts!"

Dugu Lue restrained her, his towering body pressing down on her. One hand held her chin, and his green eyes glared down at her. "Why are you running?"

"You—" Wan Ou glared at him, not missing the raw strength in his grip or the green eyes that had once made her wish for death—just like the silver wolf's eyes had when it violated her.

"Who are you?" His thumb stroked her snow-white chin, the soft touch delighting him, and the fire in his green eyes intensified.
