Chapter 3: Chapter 3: The Forgotten Temple

Battle of Dragons

The Journey Begins

The battle against Malzareth had shaken the world, but Eryndor knew it was only the beginning. Vaelthor, wounded yet unbroken, soared over the shattered landscape of Eldoria. Below them, the land bore scars of war—forests burned, rivers ran black with abyssal corruption, and villages lay in ruin.

Eryndor gripped the reins of his dragon, his mind fixated on their next mission: finding the lost Temple of Eldrith.

According to Orin the Arcane, the temple held an ancient artifact known as the Heart of the Dragon King—a relic said to amplify a dragon rider's power beyond imagination. But it was hidden deep within the Shattered Wastes, a land of shifting ruins and forgotten magic.

As they flew, Nyxara, the Phantom Seer, closed her violet eyes. "Something watches us from the void," she murmured. "A force unseen, waiting in the shadows."

A shiver ran through Eryndor. Drakmora was planning something.

Arrival at the Temple

After days of perilous travel—evading abyssal hunters, crossing cursed sands, and fighting off shadow wraiths—the group finally reached the Temple of Eldrith.

The temple was a monolithic structure, half-buried in the ruins of time. Its entrance was guarded by colossal stone statues of ancient dragons, their eyes glowing faintly with forgotten energy. Runes pulsed on the walls, whispering in a language older than time.

As they stepped forward, the ground trembled.

The stone guardians came to life.

---

Battle Against the Guardians

The first guardian—a massive obsidian dragon golem—lunged at Eryndor with earth-shattering force.

"Scatter!" Orin commanded, hurling a Runic Shockwave that barely slowed the beast.

Nyxara weaved through the battlefield, her hands glowing as she manipulated Time Echoes, allowing her to dodge the guardians' deadly attacks.

Eryndor, sensing an opening, leapt onto Vaelthor's back.

"Let's end this!" he shouted.

Vaelthor let out a Celestial Roar, sending waves of divine energy crashing into the golems. Eryndor raised Drakensoul, its blade humming with power.

"Draconic Ascension!"

His body ignited with golden flames as he delivered a Skybreaker Strike, slicing through the guardian's core. The construct crumbled into dust.

The temple doors creaked open.

The Forbidden Chamber

Inside, the air was thick with raw magic. A giant altar stood at the center, and upon it rested the Heart of the Dragon King—a pulsating crystal of pure energy.

As Eryndor approached, Nyxara gasped. "Wait—it's a trap!"

The shadows twisted, and from the darkness emerged a figure wrapped in abyssal flames—Zarvok, the Dark Herald, Drakmora's right hand.

"You came all this way for nothing," Zarvok sneered. "The Heart belongs to the Abyss now."

Before Eryndor could react, Zarvok unleashed a torrent of Darkfire Chains, ensnaring Vaelthor and slamming him into the ground.

The final battle for the Heart of the Dragon King had begun.
