Chapter 317: Yin Yang Knights vs. Shizi Dogs (1)
The court buzzed with energy as the crowd shuffled in, filling the seats with eager anticipation.
The venue was painted with blue and pink. It looked quite pleasing to the eyes, yet the tension in the air was anything but that.
Cutting through the hues of pink and blue were the colors of the clothes of the eliminated players. The Xing Stars, Daxue Dolphins, Huishi Alligators, Feng Foxes, and plenty more were at the top bleachers, their eyes busily scanning the arena and making predictions about the game's result.
Kexin clicked his tongue as he watched the crowd cheer for their favorite teams.
"This should have been us!" he exclaimed.
Zedong, who was next to him, scoffed. "Get over it," he said, causing the younger player to gasp in distaste.
Meanwhile, the two teams stood in front of their respective entrances, their gazes focused on the door. They could already hear the cheers of the audience from where they were, and it added to their nervousness.
As the players from both teams emerged from the tunnel, the arena erupted into louder cheers. The Yin Yang Knights, dressed in their blue and black uniforms, and the Shizi Dogs, sporting their vibrant pink and white, strode onto the court with serious expressions.
Cameras flashed, capturing the moment, eager to catch every detail. The game was not only broadcast on local news but also live-streamed on multiple platforms, drawing an audience from far and wide.
Mark Li couldn't contain his excitement. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is what we've all been waiting for! The final showdown between the Yin Yang Knights and the Shizi Dogs. These two teams have fought their way to the top, and tonight, we'll see who comes out on top!"
The boys from both teams were fired up as their starting players positioned themselves in front of their benches.
The people started muttering in excitement when they saw that both teams weren't playing around.
Yuze turned to his dad, but Coach Guanyu, with crossed arms, didn't bother looking at him.
Yuze clicked his tongue and focused his gaze back to the court.
"From the Yin Yang Knights!" Mark started off, and their followers went crazy.
The five best players of the Knights went to the court, forming a line.
Shin, Ailun, Fabin, Yutong, and Max stood in the middle, looking more intimidating than ever.
Shilei felt a shiver run down his spine as he looked at the ideal line-up.
"I'm reminded of our game during the Winter Cup," he muttered.
Zeren clicked his tongue. "I can't believe they're up there while I'm here again," he whispered.
The Shizi Dogs responded with their own dream team.
The crowd went equally as crazy as Yuze, Renren, Andy, Jinping, and Kai made their way to the center.
"Good luck!" Lina said to each of them, even giving them high-fives.
For Kai, her hands hovered a little longer on his skin, the two exchanging determined smiles.
The teams lined up, facing each other like the court was a battlefield that was yet to be claimed.
There was a different aura in the air as the two strong teams faced each other.
It sent shivers down the spines of everyone watching, which only increased their anticipation of the game.
"And they will now start!" Mark Li's voice echoed through the court.
The referees signaled for the jump ball. Yuze and Fabin stepped into the circle, eyes locked, ready for the first clash. The ball was tossed into the air, and in an instant, Fabin tapped it back to Shin.
The game was on.
Coach Guanyu smirked as Fabin beat the formidable center. Although they weren't on good terms, Guanyu was still well aware of his son's playing style.
With that, he trained Fabin to jump higher than Yuze, and it seemed like the intensive training had paid off off.
Yuze frowned as he positioned himself for defense, also calling his other teammates to do the same.
Shin wasted no time, pushing the ball up the court with decent speed. He zipped past Renren and dished it out to Ailun on the wing. Ailun caught the ball, squared up, and let it fly. The ball sailed through the air in a perfect arc and swished through the net. The Knights scored first, drawing first blood. The crowd roared in approval.

Yuze took the inbound pass and raced up the court. He crossed over Shin with a quick move, sending him stumbling. Yuze then passed the ball to Renren, who was waiting at the three-point line. Renren caught it, paused for a split second, and launched the ball. It was a high release, a beautiful shot that soared through the air and splashed down. The Shizi Dogs answered back, tying the game.
2-2.
The Knights weren't fazed. Max, with his long strides, cut through the defense and drove to the basket. He faced off against Kai, who stood firm, but Max spun around him and laid the ball in with a soft touch off the glass. It was a smooth, calculated move that had the crowd on their feet.
4-2.
The Shizi Dogs countered with a quick play of their own. Andy took the ball at the top of the key, faked a shot, then passed it down low to Kai, who was posting up against Yutong. Kai backed him down, feeling the resistance but not relenting. He spun to his right and banked the ball in, evening the score again.
4-4.
Yiming watched the court with furrowed eyebrows. It was only forty seconds in, but the boys were already moving too fast, making him unable to follow through with his eyes.
The game continued at a breakneck pace.
Renren and Yutong continued to duel, each trying to outsmart the other. Andy and Ailun traded three-pointers. Max and Kai fought for every second, their bodies clashing like titans under the hoop.
The arena was alive with the sounds of squeaking sneakers, the thud of the ball hitting the hardwood, and the cheers of the fans.
Mark Li's voice cut through the noise, excited and full of anticipation. "What a start to this game! Both teams are playing their hearts out, and we're just getting started!"
Nina, the courtside reporter, couldn't believe her eyes as the players zoomed back and forth before her eyes.
Rolan smirked as he watched her stunned expression.
"I can't keep up," Nina muttered.
