Attack on Titan: The Strongest Newcomer

Chapter 125: Chapter 123 The Electric Soul Miao Dao

The Miao Dao (sounded cool but, if you want me change it just comment) rested in Ryo's hands like an extension of his own body, its craftsmanship and power evident at a glance. Similar to a samurai sword in design, it surpassed the latter in sheer power, enhanced further by its unique attributes.

When Ryo held the weapon, he felt a current of thunder and lightning flowing along the blade, an energy that made his fingertips tingle. The hilt bore two small engraved characters: *Electric Soul.*

"So, this is the *Electric Soul,*" he murmured, examining its design. The weapon had a blood groove along the blade, with a thicker back and a paper-thin edge. Its weight was perfectly balanced, almost as if it had been made specifically for him. But its thinness made Ryo hesitant.

"System, will this blade hold up in combat? It feels too delicate," he asked aloud, running his fingers along the glowing edge.

"It's possible for the blade to be damaged, but it is highly unlikely," the system replied confidently.

A stream of information appeared before Ryo, detailing the Miao Dao's attributes:

- **Hardness**: 9

- **Flexibility**: 8

- **Destructive Power**: 9

Ryo scanned the data, his interest piqued. "Hardness refers to the weapon's strength, right?" he confirmed.

"Correct. A weapon with high hardness can withstand significant impacts, but strength alone isn't enough," the system explained. "Flexibility ensures the weapon can endure various conditions, such as extreme cold, heat, or humidity. Without it, even the hardest blade would fail in adverse environments."

Ryo nodded thoughtfully, impressed by the Miao Dao's balance of traits. The last attribute, destructive power, was even more intriguing.

"Destructive power isn't just about cutting strength," the system continued. "With the *Electric Soul,* there is a chance to paralyze opponents with the weapon's lightning attribute. It's a wide-ranging enhancement, far beyond standard weapons."

Ryo gripped the Miao Dao firmly, feeling its potential. It wasn't just a blade; it was a game-changer. Yet, his curiosity was piqued by something the system mentioned earlier.

"You talked about artifacts. What are those, and how do they compare to this?"

"Artifacts are legendary weapons," the system explained. "They possess an additional unique trait beyond standard weapons. However, they are rare and incredibly powerful. The host's current strength is insufficient to wield one without risking harm or destruction."

Ryo scoffed, feeling underestimated. "How can you be so sure? Let me try it!"

"Your level is too low, and forcing it could result in a deadly backlash," the system replied bluntly. Before Ryo could protest further, the system went silent, forcibly cutting the conversation short.

"Well, that's rude," Ryo muttered, setting the Miao Dao down. Still, he couldn't deny that the *Electric Soul* already gave him a significant advantage. He'd deal with artifacts later—when he was strong enough to wield them without question.

Just as he was lost in thought, he heard voices outside. Hanji and the others were back, their footsteps nearing his room. Among them, Mikasa's voice stood out.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

The sound of her knuckles against the door startled Ryo. He hastily hid the Miao Dao beneath his blanket and composed himself.

"Ryo, are you in there?" Mikasa called.

"I'm here. Come in," he replied, opening the door just as she was about to knock again. Her hand nearly collided with his face, making her pause mid-motion.

Mikasa's calm expression softened slightly. She handed him a small pouch. "Here's your wallet back. We didn't use much."

Ryo glanced at the pouch. He had only a few coins left after sending most of his earnings to Krista, but he didn't mind. "Keep it. Use whatever's left for yourself and the others if needed," he said casually.

Mikasa hesitated, then nodded, her voice quiet. "Thank you."

As she turned to leave, Ryo caught a glimpse of her faint smile. It was rare, but it made him realize how much he valued these fleeting moments of peace amidst the chaos.
