Chapter 48: Chapter 172 - Admit

Jay-Jay's POV

I didn't move. Keifer and the others seemed like they didn't want to speak first.

They tried to take me to the hospital, but I refused. If they did, the news would reach the organizer, and I didn't want to get into trouble.

I wasn't sure what the school would do about what had happened. I was also worried that Cyrus' family might come after me.

I hope not!

When we arrived at Camp Keneme—because the name is boring—we went straight to the hall. Since it was already past lunchtime, we still hadn't eaten.

The place was almost empty since most of the students had already returned to their camping sites.

"No food left?" Felix asked while checking each saucepan.

There was food prepared for everyone, arranged on a long table. The students were supposed to line up and serve themselves.

But it looked like most of it was already gone.

"There's only some soup left, but there's more over there," a staff member said, pointing to another set of saucepans.

I just sat down and watched them as they moved around, looking for food. David sat next to me, eating.

"You really don't want to go to the hospital?" he asked.

I shook my head. "If I do, the organizer will find out, and things will just get worse. It'll only make the situation messier. Please, don't insist."

He nodded, accepting my answer.

Just then, someone placed a tray of food in front of me. It was Keifer, and he looked serious.

"Eat," he ordered.

I glanced at the tray. Soup, rice, some bread, and bananas. It felt like hospital food.

"I-I don't feel like eating."

"If you don't eat, I'll take you to the hospital."

But I really didn't feel like it. On top of that, my whole body ached from the bruises.

I sighed and pulled the tray closer. Forcing myself to eat, I winced every time I swallowed—it felt like someone was stabbing my muscles.

Ouch!

While I was eating, I couldn't help but notice that the Kumag King wouldn't take his eyes off me.

Is there a problem?!

Yuri arrived and sat on the bench across from me, slamming his tray onto the table.

I glanced at David, who was also looking at the two of them. He met my eyes, then suddenly stood up and walked away with his tray.

Come on! Don't leave me here!

As soon as David left, Keifer sat beside me, crossing his arms before leaning back.

"W-why?" I asked.

He sighed before answering. "From now on, you're not allowed to go anywhere alone. Someone has to accompany you every time you leave."

Huh?!

"Why? What for?" I asked, a hint of irritation in my voice.

I couldn't help it. His voice was too firm, and Yuri's expression told me he agreed with him.

"Look at what happened to you! What if we hadn't arrived in time? You'd probably be lying in a hospital bed right now!" he said angrily.

"I didn't know that would happen. No one from the Holy Shi—I mean, Saints—has ever hurt me before," I tried to explain, but he wasn't having it.

"Really?! Then what do you call what Cyrus did to you?! Didn't he beat you?! Didn't he hurt you?!"

"I didn't know he was going to do that to me!"

Damn it!

I didn't understand why I suddenly felt like crying while explaining myself. They were just like Kuya Angelo—so hard to reason with.

"I thought Cyrus was in the hospital?" Yuri asked, shifting the attention to him.

"He was discharged weeks ago and sent back to school," I answered.

"So you knew?!" Keifer asked, raising an eyebrow.

Yes!

I swallowed hard. Why is he so mad? What does he take me for?

"Y-yeah… I was told—"

"And yet you still went alone? You didn't even ask us to go with you!" he interrupted.

"Because I didn't—"

"Maybe you wanted to meet him?" Yuri added with a smirk.

Keifer clenched his fists and closed his eyes, obviously trying to hold back his anger.

"W-what? How could that happen? We never planned to meet, and we don't even talk to each other!" I snapped at Yuri.

"Then why did you go? Maybe you wanted to see him?" Keifer said, his voice laced with anger.

What the hell?!

I felt a headache coming on because of these two. I couldn't take it anymore!

"Why would I want to see—Wait!" My eyes narrowed as I looked back and forth between them. "…Are you guys jealous?"

Yuri looked away.

Keifer shot me a dark glare.

"Yes!"

"No!"

They answered at the same time. I was still a little confused about who said No and who said Yes.

"You two are a mess! What are you even angry about?!" I asked, annoyed.

"Isn't it obvious? We're angry because you got hurt, and we weren't even there to defend you," Yuri explained calmly.

I understood that part. There was something wrong with me too—I should have texted them sooner.

I looked at Keifer, waiting for his answer. His eyebrows furrowed as he stared at me.

"Shh," he said.

Thanks for the clear answer.

My eyes narrowed. I must have looked like a squinting Chinese character. Daoming Si! Shan Cai!—Oh, wait, that's Taiwanese.

We stared at each other for a long time. The worst part was that he was really stubborn. Looks like I'd be Chinese for a while.

Figures.

"Fine!" he finally said, irritated. "...I'm fucking mad because I'm jealous! What man would be happy knowing the girl he likes is meeting up with her ex?!"

I heard someone snicker. Looking over at a nearby table, I saw The Snakes watching us like it was a show.

You guys must be having a great time!

Keifer turned and glared at them. "Tell me! You'd feel the same way, right?!"

The others scratched their necks awkwardly and looked away.

"I'd feel the same. I agree with Keifer," David admitted.

"I'd probably kill Grace's ex," Denzel added.

"Good thing Mica doesn't have an ex," Calix said.

"Keifer is right!" Rory chimed in.

"I'd skin the ex alive and then bathe him in onion and garlic," Ci-N added.

I slapped my forehead. They're just as crazy as Keifer. Sweet lord!

"And you're asking if I feel jealous?! Come on, Jay! Of course, I do!" Keifer told me.

I winced at his words. They hit harder than expected. His jealousy was completely misplaced.

"Are you crazy?! Who gets jealous over Cyrus?!" I snapped.

"Tss."

"You're acting like a lunatic!" Yuri and I shouted at them.

"Why me too?" Yuri asked, confused.

"Stop acting like you're not jealous!" Keifer yelled at him. "...You're pretending! You literally told me to paralyze Cyrus so he couldn't get near Jay-Jay!"

Yuri rubbed the back of his neck with an awkward smile, but his grimace said otherwise.

Did I really say that?! That makes two of us then!

Oh, no! Oh, no! Oh, no!

"There's nothing to be jealous of. So you two better stop!" I scolded them.

"Tss... I should've just let you stay with that Cyrus," Keifer muttered under his breath, but it was loud enough for me to hear.

"Tsk! I said stop!"

"If I ever find out you met with him again, I'll lock you up in my house and bury Cyrus alive!" he threatened.

The guys at the other table burst out laughing.

"It'd be better if we burned him alive," Yuri suggested.

Keifer seemed to like that idea, and just like that, the two of them were getting along again.

I almost smiled. At least their friendship is still intact.

But my conscience started eating at me. This was my fault. If I hadn't gone to Section E, they wouldn't have ended up like this.

"Keifer! Keifer!"

Someone suddenly screamed.

We all turned toward the voice. Edrix!

"What?!" Keifer asked, annoyed.

"T-those things we stored..." He took a deep breath. "...They're gone!"

"What?!" we all shouted almost at the same time.

"The cooler is missing, along with the box of canned goods and the rice," Edrix explained further.

What?! Were we robbed?! Shit! What are we going to eat?!

The school only provided breakfast and lunch. Like Section E, we only had lunch covered—and even that wasn't enough.

That's why we had pitched in earlier to buy food. And now, it was all gone?!

The others rushed off immediately to check, while I tried to stand up. Thankfully, Ci-N quickly came over to help me walk.

By the time we arrived at the campsite, the others were already there. Since I was walking slowly, we were the last to reach the site.

Our things were a mess. One tent was destroyed, another was left wide open. Our cooler—where we kept our food and drinks—the box of canned goods, and the large bucket of rice were all gone.

"My tent!" Ci-N shouted, running over to his ruined tent. "...This is so frustrating!"

I looked at my own tent and saw that it was open. Slowly walking over, I peeked inside.

My bag seemed untouched, but something was missing.

"My Snorlax!" I screamed.

"Fucking shit! We were really robbed! And worse… they even destroyed the tents!" Keifer cursed, his anger boiling over.

"But who would do this?!" Kit asked, worried.

"We should report this to the organizer," David suggested.

"Agreed," Yuri nodded.

The others were about to head to the organizer when Josh raised his hand, holding a floral handkerchief.

"Is it yours?" he asked.

They all looked at me the same way. I'm the only woman here, and I can use flowers.

But I don't like flowers.

"No..." I answered.

Josh examined the handkerchief more closely and unfolded a few parts.

"John... Rose," he said out loud as he read what was written on it. "...Who is it?"

"Is that a boy?" Felix asked.

"I think it's a girl," Calix replied.

"Wait! Johnrose? It's Adier!" Blaster exclaimed, and we all looked at him. "...That's Section B! She became my classmate!"

Section B?!

How did Section B's handkerchief end up here? We all exchanged glances, as if we had an idea.

"Where is Section B's campsite?" May asked.

"Regardless, we're the only ones separated from all the other sections," Drew replied.

Shit!

"What is this?! Did Section B rob us?!" I asked, annoyed.

"Face it," Eren replied.

Annoying! Why do they have to do this?! To make matters worse, they even took my Snorlax. Give me that!

Percy gave me.

"We have to get those back!" Felix shouted.

I agreed with him. I need to get my Snorlax back… as well as the food!
