Chapter 465: Collecting the Store
After understanding the whole context of the incident, Chen Yu turned and walked over to Ma Xiulan.
"Ms. Ma, I greatly admire your intellect, but I must say you are truly ruthless, calling over so many hearing-impaired people to be your cash cows."
Ma Xiulan's eyes widened, and she instinctively took several steps back.
"I don't understand what you're talking about. Scram, and don't block the business on my street!"
Chen Yu snorted coldly, casually grabbed a handful of dice from the side, and placed them on the table. He then picked up two boxes.
"I heard you're very good at this, so let's compete in what you do best! We'll use the property deeds of the shops on this street as stakes!"
Ma Xiulan got excited; she directly took one box and sat down.
"My shops are worth a lot. What will you use as stakes?"
Chen Yu's mouth curled into a strange arc as he directly took out a promissory note from his body and slapped it on the table.
"Here are my stakes. Before you lose all your shops to me, if you win against me just once, this promissory note is yours, and I won't want a single shop of yours."
Such a huge temptation was irresistible to anyone.
"Fine, it's a deal! But don't you back out later," she agreed.
Chen Yu also picked up a box and sat down opposite Ma Xiulan. They divided the dice equally, agreed on the rules, and then started shaking their boxes.
When they stopped, Chen Yu pushed his box forward.
"Six fives!"
Ma Xiulan immediately burst into wild laughter. They each had six dice, and she had only one five on her side, meaning Chen Yu would need at least five fives to win.
The odds of that were very small!
"I'll open yours!" Ma Xiulan shouted excitedly.
Chen Yu chuckled lightly, and casually opened the box.
Inside, there were precisely five fives!
Ma Xiulan's eyes widened; she had not expected to lose the first round so thoroughly.
"Again!"
Just as she was about to shake the box, Chen Yu suddenly stopped her.
"I guessed the exact number correct. According to the rules, those three shops are now mine. Please write up a contract immediately," he insisted.
Ma Xiulan was somewhat reluctant: "What if I win the next round? There's no need for this formality!"
Chen Yu's eyes instantly flashed with a murderous intent. He took a piece of paper from the side, wrote down the transfer contract, and then pressed his thumbprint on it.
Before Ma Xiulan could react, Chen Yu pulled her finger to press it down as well.
The two of them had reached an agreement; if they stopped now, those three shops would belong to Chen Yu.
Ma Xiulan was filled with resentment but was helpless. She had just felt as if her body wasn't under her control, and then the contract was signed.
Chen Yu didn't care about that. He directly put away the contract and then took the box in front of him, shaking it quickly.
Ma Xiulan, containing her fury, naturally didn't want to fall behind.
After they stopped, Chen Yu immediately declared, "Eight threes!"
Ma Xiulan looked at her own box, which had only two threes inside.
That meant if Chen Yu guessed correctly this time, all six of the dice in his box would have to be threes.
Ma Xiulan bit her lip, hesitated for a long while, then suddenly, a crazy glint in her eyes, she stared at Chen Yu.
"I'll open yours!"
Chen Yu's mouth curved into a strange arc as he directly opened his own box.
Ma Xiulan was instantly dumbstruck. Inside Chen Yu's box, all the dice showed threes!
"Looks like I've won again! Why do I feel like you're letting me win on purpose? How about we up the ante a bit?"
As Chen Yu spoke, he drew up an agreement and placed it on the table, then forced Ma Xiulan to press her handprint using the same method as before.
Ma Xiulan panicked. There were twenty-seven shops on the street, and six were already lost. At this rate, all the shops would be gone.
"Let's change the game!" Ma Xiulan suddenly stood up, taking out two decks of playing cards from beside her.
"This dice game is too childish. How about we play cards instead, each of us draws one to compare sizes? What do you say?"
Chen Yu found it amusing. Playing cards in this way seemed even more childish.
"Playing round by round like this is just too much hassle. How about this? We decide it in one round, and I'll add one more promissory note."
Greed shone in Ma Xiulan's eyes to the extreme; she hadn't expected Chen Yu to be so generous.
Without thinking, she agreed, then placed the deck of cards in the middle of the table.
Chen Yu was no less decisive, writing an agreement and placing it on the table.
After signing and stamping, they immediately began.
After the first two contests, Ma Xiulan was already flustered. She carefully held the cards, fumbling for a long time before drawing one out.
Chen Yu, not having the same psychological pressure as her, casually drew a card and laid it on the table.
Ma Xiulan froze like a statue, petrified in place.
Her card was a mere three, while Chen Yu had drawn a seven.
Chen Yu scoffed contemptuously, then directly picked up the transfer contracts, planning to go collect the properties.
But Ma Xiulan, furious and embarrassed, grabbed a nearby fire poker and was about to ruthlessly attack.
Chen Yu turned and lightly pushed her, sending Ma Xiulan tumbling to the ground, then delivered the contracts to Qin Mingxue.
"If I'm not mistaken, your underground market should have someone specifically responsible for debt collection, right? The rest is up to you."
Qin Mingxue nodded emphatically, more familiar with this than anyone else.
Chen Yu then informed the nearby vendors of the situation, asking them to tidy up and wait for someone to come and take over.
Qin Mingxue also made a phone call to her factory, sending two teams out; one to handle Ma Xiulan and the other to bring all the vendors back.
The two then ate a bowl of wontons before leaving on their own.
But as they left the alley, a large group of people in suits suddenly approached from a distance.
Although they looked decent, a deadly aura emanated from them, a clear sign that they were from the underworld.
Chen Yu frowned, the system immediately deployed, quickly capturing the brain information of these men; they were from the Sanhe Chamber of Commerce.
"Looks like we won't be able to leave today. The Jiang family's lot can't win against us at the negotiation table, so they resort to these despicable tactics behind our backs."
Qin Mingxue immediately tensed up. If this were the underground market, she would fear nothing, but outside, with no support, if these people really went for the kill, there was nothing she could do.
But Chen Yu appeared relaxed. He just walked a few steps forward, then crouched down, his hand pressing on the ground, and a light instantly spread out.
