After Being Reborn, I Refuse To Be The Holy Son Of The Sect Anymore

Chapter 64:

Chapter 64:

Outside the gates of Yuanlong City, Xiao Yang delivered two crushing punches to Gui Teng’s face, sending him staggering backward.

The crowd was stunned into silence, their disbelief palpable.

The residents of Yuanlong City were even more shocked, their eyes nearly bulging out of their sockets. Xiao Yang had dared to strike Gui Teng, a revered elder of the Guiyuan Martial Sect.

Since Gui Teng and his nephew Gui Jianren had arrived in Yuanlong City, they had colluded with the Liu brothers, Liu Rulong and Liu Ruhu, running rampant in the city. Backed by the Guiyuan Martial Sect, they had become untouchable tyrants.

The Liu family, emboldened by their return, had carried out a brutal purge in the city, targeting everyone with the Xiao surname. Countless Xiao family members were driven out, their homes seized, and their possessions looted.

Those expelled were left destitute, with many meeting tragic fates. Some families were shattered, and lives were lost in unimaginable misery.

While Liu Rulong’s death at Xiao Yang’s hands brought a sense of justice to the oppressed, no one dared to voice their satisfaction, let alone celebrate.

The Liu family remained powerful, and Gui Teng, a half-step Divine Martial Realm expert, was still a force to be reckoned with.

Gui Teng viewed mortals as mere ants, killing them at will. Resistance meant certain death.

Now, seeing Gui Teng get beaten stirred a sense of hidden joy in the crowd, but they could only silently cheer in their hearts.

Gui Teng steadied himself, his body trembling with rage as he lifted his head.

The sight made everyone gasp in horror.

His face was a bloody mess, his nose crooked, his upper and lower teeth almost entirely gone, and blood oozed from his swollen nose and mouth.

Even Xiao Yang was momentarily taken aback by the extent of his handiwork.

“This is bad… very bad…” Xiao Zhenshan muttered in despair, his body trembling.

His mother, Chen Ruolan, and sister, Xiao Yue, were pale and speechless, terrified by what they had just witnessed.

“Senior Brother…” Jiang Ting was equally stunned.

Striking Gui Teng wasn’t just reckless—it was courting disaster.

The Guiyuan Martial Sect wouldn’t let this go.

Meanwhile, Qin Fei was inwardly ecstatic.

Even he hadn’t anticipated Xiao Yang’s impulsiveness in striking Gui Teng. This wasn’t Azure Sun Mountain, and Xiao Yang’s actions here were a clear path to self-destruction.

Even Lei Lie, the Enforcement Elder, was momentarily frozen in shock.

“You…”

Gui Teng roared in fury, his body erupting with a violent aura. A massive phantom of a black tortoise emerged behind him, and the air filled with flying sand and rocks.

The crowd recoiled in terror as Gui Teng, consumed by rage, leapt into the air and hurled a powerful punch at Xiao Yang.

The phantom tortoise surged forward with the force of his punch, shaking the very air around them.

Many in the crowd averted their eyes, certain Xiao Yang would be obliterated by the attack.

The Xiao family shut their eyes in despair.

“Senior Brother!”

“Holy Son!”

Song Qiang, Lin Wangchuan, Ye Qingyao, Yun Qianxue, and Qi Xuan shouted in alarm.

“Hmph.”

Xiao Yang smirked, preparing to counter Gui Teng’s attack.

But just as he was about to strike, a figure suddenly stepped in front of him.

Boom!

A muffled sound reverberated as the air around them trembled violently, and a blinding flash of lightning filled the space.

At the last moment, Lei Lie had intervened, blocking Gui Teng’s punch.

“I…”

Xiao Yang was exasperated.

Was Lei Lie saving him or Gui Teng?

This wasn’t the first time. Earlier, Lei Lie had also stepped in just as Xiao Yang was about to deal with Gui Teng.

Lei Lie believed he was protecting Xiao Yang, unaware that he had unwittingly saved Gui Teng twice.

If Lei Lie realized what he had done, he would probably be mortified.

Surrounded by a crackling aura of lightning, Lei Lie unleashed his Thunder Tremor Fist, forcing Gui Teng to retreat.

“Lei Lie, you…” Gui Teng glared furiously at Lei Lie.

“What? Are you planning to declare war on the Azure Sun Sword Sect?” Lei Lie retorted coldly.

“Damn it!” Gui Teng roared, seething with humiliation.

Being struck by Xiao Yang in public had destroyed his reputation, and now Lei Lie was standing in his way.

“I swear I’ll kill that boy today! Whoever stands in my way, I’ll kill them too!” Gui Teng roared madly.

“Then go ahead and try,” Lei Lie replied, his body radiating an overwhelming, thunderous aura. He looked like a deity of lightning, exuding a destructive energy that sent shivers through everyone present.

“Xiao Yang! You killed my brother—I’ll take your life!”

A shout echoed from within the city, and a group of people rushed out.

Leading them were Liu Xiaotian, the head of the Liu family, and his second son, Liu Ruhu.

Xiao Yang smirked.

In the blink of an eye, he sidestepped Lei Lie and pointed a finger at Gui Teng.

“Die!”

Gui Teng sneered, retaliating with a massive punch.

The force of his Tortoise Fist created a phantom tortoise that charged toward Xiao Yang with unstoppable momentum.

“You’re insane!” Lei Lie shouted in alarm, horrified that Xiao Yang was challenging Gui Teng directly.

A Heavenly Martial Realm sword cultivator couldn’t possibly stand against a half-step Divine Martial Realm expert like Gui Teng.

Lei Lie moved to intervene, but he froze in shock at what happened next.

Xiao Yang’s speed was astonishing.

With a finger imbued with sword intent, Xiao Yang shattered Gui Teng’s Tortoise Fist, appearing directly in front of him.

His sword finger pressed against Gui Teng’s forehead, piercing it with sword energy.

Gui Teng’s head snapped back, his lifeless body collapsing to the ground.

Even in death, his face bore an expression of disbelief.

The Liu family members, who had just arrived, froze in terror at the sight.

Jiang Ting, Lei Renjie, and the others were dumbstruck.

Lei Lie felt his scalp tingle as he stared at Gui Teng’s corpse.

This was no longer a simple matter—Xiao Yang had killed an elder of the Guiyuan Martial Sect.

The Xiao family was paralyzed with fear.

Qin Fei, on the other hand, was ecstatic.

Xiao Yang had just made a mortal enemy of the Guiyuan Martial Sect before even entering the city.

“Xiao Yang, no one can save you now,” Qin Fei thought gleefully.

“Liu Ruhu, didn’t you say you wanted my life?” Xiao Yang asked calmly, his gaze fixed on the pale-faced Liu Ruhu.

All the anger and bravado of Liu Xiaotian and Liu Ruhu vanished, replaced by sheer terror.

“Spare me!”

Liu Ruhu fell to his knees, trembling.

“Dear nephew, I watched you grow up. Please, have mercy! My son deserved his fate—it was his own fault!” Liu Xiaotian groveled, his body trembling.

The once-arrogant Liu family had been reduced to begging for their lives.

If Xiao Yang could kill Gui Teng, he could certainly kill them.

“Xiao Yang! How dare you kill an elder of my sect?”

A cold voice rang out as a young man in white robes, holding a folding fan, stepped out of the city gates.

Xiao Yang’s pupils contracted as he recognized the man.

It was none other than Chu Guiyuan, the Holy Son of the Guiyuan Martial Sect and one of the most formidable opponents Xiao Yang had faced in his previous life.
