Chapter 35:
Chapter 35: You Can’t:
Before Li Ruochen could finish her sentence, she caught a glimpse of Lin You’s ashen face and quickly changed her words. “Yes, it’s that mustache guy! He even touched my chest—what a beast!”
With those words, Mustache was immediately labeled as a pervert and a bully. Zhang Xi, watching the group of men in suits beat up women, trembled with fear.
When he realized Lin You wasn’t planning to flee but instead wanted to confront them, Zhang Xi quickly tried to dissuade him. “Lin You, look at your two sisters—they drive cars worth tens of millions, wear clothes costing hundreds of thousands. And look at you…”
“They’re already in this mess. Why are you even thinking of helping them? Let’s just leave. You’re not a cop—you can’t do anything about this!”
Lin You’s gaze turned cold as he looked toward the scene. Lin Shengnan, battered and out of strength, had her clothes torn in the scuffle. Nearby, Lin Shiyan was still screaming for help.
He replied icily, “Who said I’m saving them? I just can’t stand that bully touching Ruochen. Ruochen is my classmate, the physics class representative. She always takes care of me. If someone dares to bully her, I’ll make them pay.”
Zhang Xi opened his mouth to argue but stopped when he saw the murderous determination in Lin You’s eyes. He muttered nervously, “How about I go first and tire them out? Then you step in later?”
By this point, their car had arrived at the scene.
The mustache man spotted the rideshare car speeding toward them, kicking up dust. His eyes narrowed as he saw a thin, unimposing young man step out of the car.
Weighing less than 100 kilograms, Lin You looked utterly unthreatening. Mustache racked his brain, trying to place him. The boy’s glare screamed revenge, but Mustache couldn’t recall ever crossing paths with him.
Lin Shiyan, spotting Lin You, immediately changed her tone. “Lin You! Help me! Quickly!”
Lin You turned toward her and shouted angrily, “Shut up! Do I even know you? I’ve already contacted your brother Tianyang—he’ll be here to save you soon.”
“What? You called Tianyang?” Lin Shiyan exclaimed, shocked. “It’s dangerous here—how could you drag him into this?”
Lin You ignored her entirely and turned back to Mustache. “You!” he said, his voice sharp. “You dared to bully my classmate? I’m going to make you pay for that!”
Mustache, who had been observing the scene with amusement, looked bewildered. He knew Lin Shiyan but hadn’t recognized Lin Shengnan. Regardless, he had no reason to fear the Lin family. As a Dingcheng Group enforcer, even the city’s big shots wouldn’t dare challenge him.
But the sight of Lin You, charging at him with such determination, was so absurd that Mustache almost laughed. A scrawny shrimp like this, coming to pick a fight?
Lin You lunged at Mustache, only to be met with a single punch that sent him sprawling to the ground.
“Is this kid serious?” Mustache muttered, shaking his head in disbelief.
But Lin You didn’t stay down. He climbed to his feet and charged again, only to be struck down once more. The cycle repeated, with Lin You rushing forward and getting knocked down each time.
By the seventh or eighth time, Mustache couldn’t help but laugh. This kid was clearly no match for him.
Despite being beaten down repeatedly, Lin You kept standing up, his venomous glare never wavering. His persistence unnerved Mustache. “What’s with this lunatic?” he thought.
Li Ruochen, watching Lin You endure blow after blow, burst into tears. “Lin You, stop! Please!”
Meanwhile, Lin Shiyan continued yelling from the sidelines. “Lin You, forget about them! Come save me!”
Finally, Lin You stood his ground, pointing at Lin Shiyan. “This woman is so annoying. Boss, how can you tolerate her? If it were me, I’d have knocked her out long ago. How do you plan to keep control if you let her keep screaming like this?”
Mustache nodded approvingly. “You’re right—heroes think alike.”
For a moment, he found himself amused by the thought of likening Lin You to a hero.
Lin Shiyan, hearing Lin You’s words, was stunned. “Lin You! How dare you? I’m your sister!”
Lin You turned to her with disdain. “Sister? Do you even deserve that title?”
Nearby, Lin Shengnan, bruised and bloodied but still conscious, noticed Lin You’s arrival. She had been hoping for backup, but seeing Lin You only fueled her despair. Instead of coming to save them, he seemed to be here for something else entirely.
But when she saw him repeatedly charging at Mustache and enduring the beatings, her heart broke. “You bastards!” she screamed. “If you dare hurt my brother, I won’t forgive you!”
Mustache, hearing this, pieced the situation together. So, this boy was their younger brother. But their reactions confused him—one barely acknowledged the boy while the other seemed only slightly concerned.
“Are they really siblings?” Mustache wondered aloud.
His curiosity was short-lived, however. He refocused on the task at hand and ordered his men to deal with Lin Shiyan. “Have you touched her enough yet? If you keep going, she’ll end up pregnant!”
His crude words made Lin Shiyan livid. She was used to being treated with respect and reverence, and this humiliation was more than she could bear.
But her protests were silenced by a blow to the back of her head. She collapsed, unconscious.
Lin You, watching the scene unfold, spat out a mouthful of blood and pointed at Mustache. “You can’t do it,” he said with icy contempt.
