Long Tian: Not evolved.

Status: None.

Life span: 200 years.

Required for evolution: 100 geno points.

Geno points gained: 13 ordinary geno points, 6 primitive geno points.

Beast souls gained: none.

Waking up in pain and sore, Long Tian stretched his body and massaged himself. He grabbed his alloy sword and hoisted it to his waist before wearing the chestplate.

Heading out of his room, Long Tian ran into a handsome yet arrogant man. His nose was high and his eyes were staring down at him.

Without a word, the man sucker punched Long Tian in the stomach.

"Why are you with Ass Freak? "

Heaven heard the man question him as he clutched his stomach in pain. He could feel something warm rising up his throat and into his mouth, a bloody taste filling his mouth.

"Anyone who hangs out with Ass Freak will be treated like him and punished by Son of Heaven."

The man spat on Long Tian's shoes and turned around with a snicker before leaving. His actions and words had drawn the attention of everyone in the surroundings and looked at Long Tian with contempt and pity.

"Serves him for hanging with Ass Freak."

"What a waste of a handsome face,"

"Isn't he a newbie?"

"Ass Freak must have tricked him."

Gritting his teeth, Long Tian forced away the pain and stood tall. With a fierce look in his eyes, he made sure to remember that man and whoever Son of Heaven is.

Yet despite the fierce look in his eyes and the hate in his heart, Long Tian was serene and calm. His mind was extremely tranquil and his fierce eyes hid the wise and crafty thoughts of his.

Once he stepped out of Steel Armor Shelter and away from the prying eyes, Long Tian's angered face returned to its usual calm look.

Maintaining a hand on his stomach, Long Tian yawned as he waited for Han Sen. it was still fairly early in the morning and Han Sen must be riding the maglev train.

Sure enough, after half an hour, Han Sen finally arrived.

Han Sen stepped out of the shelter with slight worry on his face. Yet when he saw Long Tian waiting for him, he revealed a stunned expression that was quickly covered by a smile.

They both nodded at each other with a smile before wordlessly walking away from the shelter. As soon as they were far from any people, they began talking to each other.

"I was half expecting you to stop hanging out with me today."

"Ha! Not a chance. You're stuck with me now, Han Sen," Long Tian said with laughter.

To Long Tian, it doesn't matter who the other party is, as long as they become his friend, it will stay that way. He's a good judge of character, able to find friends who wouldn't betray him or his trust.

Han Sen is one of those people who wouldn't betray you.

"What?!"

Feigning a worried expression, Han Sen received a joking punch on the arm. Laughing, they both went to a different area inside the forest.

"There's a couple more creatures here we can hunt for ordinary Geno points," Han Sen explained as he led the way. "Do you want to hunt together?"

Long Tian smiled and shook his head, a crafty look in his eyes. Hunting for creatures together might be more efficient, but Long Tian wanted to develop Han Sen's assassin skills further. He could see that Han Sen is a talented individual, so missing out on these skills will be a shame.

Assassin skills don't only work for assassination, but also to keep ones intent hidden and to hone one's prejudgment skills.

In a fight, this would be very handy and it would be hard to teach it to someone who didn't train their assassin skills first.

Hiding one's intention, fooling the opponent, and attacking unexpectedly are skills that are very helpful.

Noticing the look in Long Tian's eyes, Han Sen smiled.

"Alright… what's the challenge?"

"Let's see who can hunt the most in the least amount of time."

"Will there be any reward?"

Long Tian crossed his arms and thought. He really didn't have anything to hand out right now. He had no money and he didn't have any valuable skills to teach. At best he could offer guidance, but would Han Sen take value in that.

"If you believe in me, I can help you train and efficiently practice," Long Tian offered.

Han Sen thought about it and remembered that Long Tian said he was an orphan. In that case, he really didn't have any money or anything else of value. Although Han Sen thought of money, he really wasn't willing of taking money from a friend, especially one who was so poor. Rather he was wondering if such a reward would be alright.

A couple days ago, he had seen Long Tian swing his sword. At first, his sword strikes were unskilled like that of an amateur, but near the end, his skills were much more polished.

Then, did Long Tian know a trick to training better?

"I accept. If you win, I will invite you to dinner."

Smiling, Long Tian nodded.

They were both friends now, they weren't going to be excessive with the bets.

"Great, I haven't eaten some good dinner in ages," Long Tian said with a smirk.

"Ha! Winning won't be so easy."

"Alright… 3…"

"2…"

"One!"

At the last word, both Han Sen and Long Tian ran. Their target had been decided when they walked over to this area and were talking.

Han Sen had found information of common creatures on the skynet, the Alliance's version of the internet. Information of creatures located in Steel Armor Shelter has been posted in forums.

It talked about a creature in this forest that appears like a squirrel and spends it's time eating the leaves in the trees. When attacked, they try to flee but sometimes retaliate.

They're fast, so one needs to either catch them by surprise, or be capable of catching up to them.

With careful steps that made no sound, Long Tian hid his presence and intentions. Hiding in the shadows, Long Tian had basically become invisible.

Step by step, he carefully searched for the squirrel-like creature.

Hearing munching above himself after walking a couple of meters, Long Tian looked up and found a creature the size of a cat and the appearance of a squirrel. Long Tian drew the sword from his waist and the creature died from a swift cut to the neck.

"Ordinary creature black-tailed beast killed. No beast soul gained. Eat the flesh of black-tailed beast to gain 0 to 10 ordinary geno points randomly."

The cut was instantaneous and silent. With swift movements, Long Tian tied the black tailed beast to his waist and continued moving.

At this point, Han Sen was lucky to find a pair together and had managed to kill both. He was ahead of Long Tian by a single point. Very quickly, both figures were stepping into the shadows of the forest and stalking their prey.

Whilst Han Sen had the advantage of knowing the terrain and having more information about the black tailed beast, Long Tian was now very proficient in his swordsmanship and assassin skills. Even now he was steadily improving and developing tracking skills whilst looking for the black tailed beast.

So, whilst was in the lead at the beginning, Long Tian caught up in the end. A shame they ended in a draw.

"A tie?"

"Well why choose a loser when we can both be winners," Long Tian said with a chuckle.

Han Sen raised an eyebrow but nodded nonetheless, not really wishing to concede defeat as well.

Nodding, both of them carried their black tailed beasts. Making their way over to the shelter, Long Tian asked Han Sen what he would like him to help train him in. Not really knowing yet, Han Sen decided to save it for another time.

The dinner was set to be in the weekend on Sunday, giving Long Tian four days to continue hunting and training. Maybe head back home and shower before visiting Han Sen.

"Did you get a beast soul from the black tailed beast?" Han Sen asked.

Long Tian shook his head and asked back, "Did you?"

Giving Long Tian a sad look, Han Sen shook his head. "I've been hunting for over a month now but no luck."

Long Tian nodded, also not having the best of luck getting a beast soul. They shook their heads disappointedly and returned to their rooms after passing by everyone.

"Black-tailed beast flesh eaten. One geno point gained."

Eating one of the black tailed beasts, Long Tian felt himself regain his energy. He rested for a while before beginning his swordsmanship practice.

After three hours of training and some rest, Long Tian ate another black-tailed beast. Then, like before, he finished the meat in just a day and a half. Halting his training, Long Tian could only head out to hunt by himself again.

"Let's hunt a primitive creature…" Long Tian muttered, eager to try his skills.

Whilst he was exiting the shelter, he heard talk about a copper-toothed beast further into the forest. They mentioned it was a primitive creature and had particularly tough fur similar, but weaker, to copper.

Deciding to try his luck with this primitive creature, Long Tian got to hunting.

Moving through the forest, Long Tian didn't bother to keep his presence suppressed. He wanted to fight against the copper-toothed beast head on. With a hand on the hilt of his sword, he was ready for anything to attack him.

Looking at the ground and carefully checking the area, Long Tian found a couple of tracks. Following them, he found a group of copper-toothed beasts grazing, eating grass.

Looking around, Long Tian looked for the biggest one of them all. Luckily, he found his target quite soon. It fur coat was the same as the rest but its size was slightly larger.

Long Tian chose this creature because of its strength. He could clearly see that this primitive copper-toothed beast was stronger than the other beasts.

'Is it a mutant creature?' Long Tian thought to himself, but he couldn't be so sure. It looked just like the rest, the only difference was some slight color difference in the fringe of its fur.

Shaking his head, Long Tian moved and lured the copper-toothed beast over to a secluded area away from the other creatures.

Smirking, he pulled out his sword and challenged the beast.

With a small roar, the beast ran at Long Tian, its claws extended and ready to shred him. Yet with a jump to the side, Long Tian managed to land a swift strike to the copper-toothed beast's neck.

Clink!

Unexpectedly, Long Tian only managed to cut a couple of copper hairs on the beast's neck before the sword landed on its neck. It's neck was tough and thick, stopping his sword only five centimeters in.

Pulling back his sword, Long Tian dodged the attacks of the copper-toothed beast. It was like Long Tian was playing with the copper-toothed beast after managing to barely dodge it's attacks.

Clang!

Striking again, Long Tian made sure to aim at its neck again. He made the copper-touched beast roar in anger before dodging the attacks again. Focused, Long Tian struck again.

Over and over, Long Tian continued to dodge and evade the copper-toothed beast's attacks before striking its neck. Final, after striking the same spot over and over with incredible precision, Long Tian managed to cut the neck of the beast.

"Primitive copper-toothed beast killed. Beast soul gained. Eat the flesh of copper-toothed beast to gain 0 to 10 primitive geno points randomly."
