Chapter 4 The Death of Xia Zuowei_2
```
(So it turns out, my soul and my body are still connected!) He thought to himself, his mind vaguely grasping at something.
When Bai Yunfei used Soul Out Of Body, he had to enter into meditation, and the same was true when his Primordial Spirit returned to its place. This was clearly not without reason. Xiao Buli guessed that when entering the meditation state, his body was likely to exhibit an open state that could accept or detach from the Spiritual Body.
The reason he couldn't merge with his own body right now was probably that his body was in a comatose state, not open. So if he could enter the state of meditation, his body would likely respond, and then he should be able to unite his spirit and flesh.
Thinking this, he once again lay on top of his own body and then started to try meditating.
Meditating in a spiritual state was not an easy task, but as time passed, Xiao Buli gradually entered the state.
Time moved on, and as the first rays of sunlight came through the window, Xiao Buli suddenly opened his eyes.
It hurts! That was his first thought upon waking. His body felt as if it was being torn apart, and he struggled to sit up from the bed.
He felt pain everywhere, and although he had intentionally released the Ethereal Armor before using Cloud Thunder Leap to offset the damage from landing, he had floated in the air too long, causing the effects of the Ethereal Armor to have completely worn off by the time he hit the ground. This resulted in him taking the full brunt of the damage.
If it had been an ordinary person, they probably would have been killed instantly, but even he was left half-crippled.
He cast Resurrection Skills on himself twice, and the wounds on the surface of his body gradually healed, but the internal injuries were difficult to recover. Just when he was bitterly smiling to himself, a Mental Method Mantra suddenly flashed through his mind—the Yi Wood Xuan Yang Scripture!
He immediately reacted, sat down cross-legged, closed his eyes, concentrated, and a vibrant green True Qi appeared in his spirit world. Following the Mental Method Mantra that flashed through his mind, as the green energy circulated through his body, his veins and meridians started to recover and heal as if dry wood met spring and parched earth received rain.
A cool sensation spread throughout his body, and in an instant, he felt as though he was soaking in a pool of spring water…
"Ah, I've finally woken up!" Stretching lazily, Xia Zuowei stood up from the bed, thinking about going to check if that 'Immortal' had woken up yet. Pushing open the door next to his bedroom, the scene in the room left him stunned.
The 'Immortal' was sitting cross-legged on the bed, emitting bursts of green light, especially bright at the areas of the wounds, shining like tattoos, making the whole bedroom glow green.
Wow, that's epic! Xia Zuowei thought to himself that the Immortal seemed to have woken up. He suddenly remembered something, hurriedly ran back outside, and gathered the metal disc, ring, and the burned-out hard drive all together, placing them on the dresser by the 'Immortal's' bed.
That should be fine now, thought Xia Zuowei, still somewhat uneasy about his action of dripping blood on someone else's Magical Treasure the day before. What if he got caught? He hoped the Immortal wouldn't take it too seriously.
Xia Zuowei thought to himself, it's no use worrying; after all, he did save the man. It shouldn't be too serious. Better to go play some games for now.
Eating instant noodles while logging into the game, the sunlight shone through the cracks of the thatched cottage, creating an atmosphere that was quite relaxed and bright, even more brilliant than the sunlight in reality. This game's lighting effects were pretty impressive.
He thought to himself as he walked out of the cottage, only to find a militiaman wearing Studded Leather Armor and holding a red-tasseled spear, standing like a pillar outside the door.
"No way, am I that unlucky?" mumbled Xia Zuowei, just as he was about to take off running, he took a closer look and saw it was Qin Dahai, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Ha, it's you. You gave me a fright. I thought you were a militia sent by the village to hunt me down," he typed.
Qin Dahai laughed, "How do you know I'm not here to kill you too?"
Xia Zuowei, surprised, said, "What, players can take on that quest too? This game is getting interesting."
"Not only can you take on quests, but you can also report. I reported the true identity of Scar-faced Li, the Black Mountain Spy, to the militia captain, and he's already been captured. However, you, the Black Mountain Spy, have not been caught yet, so I've come here especially to wait for you," Qin Dahai said.
"I'm not a Black Mountain Spy," replied Xia Zuowei, puzzled.
But Qin Dahai responded, "You have the Black Mountain Token on you. If I say you are, who's going to doubt it?"
```
Xia Zuowei couldn't help but burst into laughter, "Damn, you're quite the cunning one, aren't you? You really got some nerve."
Qin Dahai said, "I've already said so much, aren't you afraid of me?"
Curious, Xia Zuowei replied, "Afraid of you? Why should I be afraid of you? It's just a new account, if it dies, it dies."
Yet Qin Dahai spoke indifferently, "Once you die in this game, you can't be revived."
"What? That's a thing!" Xia Zuowei was shocked, "That's a bit troublesome, but no matter, it's just a newbie account anyway. Just create a new one and that's it."
Qin Dahai seemed somewhat wistful, "It looks like you really know nothing about this game."
Xia Zuowei asked subconsciously, "Is there something else to this game? The way you speak makes it seem so serious."
"It's nothing, I'm just saying," Qin Dahai replied, "So are you planning to fight me and then get killed, or do you just want me to chop you up and go collect the reward?"
After giving it some thought and deciding not to struggle needlessly, Xia Zuowei typed, "Just kill me then. But I have to say this first, if you want to kill me for the reward you have to do me a favor. After my new account comes online, you need to trade these equipment pieces to my new account. I didn't make this bit of money easily."
While saying this, he stripped off all his equipment and threw it on the ground.
Qin Dahai fell silent for a while, "I will make sure of it." After saying this, he hesitated, as if he found it hard to proceed.
Xia Zuowei, growing impatient, urged, "Hurry up and do it, why so much dithering just to kill someone."
Finally, Qin Dahai gritted his teeth, "Sorry, my friend, this is what you asked for." He then lunged forward with his spear—Charge!
With a squelching sound, blood splashed everywhere; the spearhead penetrated fully, wiping out half of his health points in one stroke. Although Xia Zuowei hadn't taken it seriously at first, the sight of the blood-drenched screen suddenly made his heart panic, and he instinctively swung his sword in response.
But Qin Dahai withdrew a step and then leapt up, using his spear like a club, and smashed it down—Darkening Skies! Striking him right on the forehead, the blow smashed his character's head into pieces like a burst watermelon. The headless body twirled around on the spot for a couple of turns, like a sack of grain that had lost its support, and fell down lifelessly.
You have died! A line of bright red text flashed across the screen. Xia Zuowei, still shaken, clicked to exit the game, only for the game's interface to shake slightly, "Grandma's legs, this way of dying is on par with a horror game." He muttered to himself, only to find that he had been unexpectedly taken to the desktop.
"Huh, I just wanted a quick log off, what's going on?" When he tried clicking on the game icon again, it didn't respond at all, and despite repeated attempts, the result was the same.
Out of frustration, Xia Zuowei slammed his mouse down, "Damn, what kind of crappy game is this, playing it is so frustrating."
About to delete the game with a click, he hesitated, as he couldn't quite bring himself to do it. Although this game was completely different from any he'd played before, with its peculiar game mechanics, the graphics and the immersive experience truly amazed him.
Especially impressive was that his old computer could actually run such high-quality graphics; if he deleted it, where would he find another like it?
After much deliberation, he still couldn't bring himself to delete it, deciding to check on the 'Immortal' instead.
He walked over to the door, about to open it, but the door opened on its own. Standing in the doorway was the man who might be the 'Immortal,' looking indifferent. (To be continued.
