Absolute Death Game

Chapter 159: Demon Slaying Operation

Xiao Buli finished speaking, but Dugu Han looked at him with a suspicious glance. Dugu Han was not a simple fool, although sometimes he was arrogant and lacked strategic foresight, even occasionally making idiotic decisions, but overall he still had some cunning, even though it was always misplaced.

Upon hearing Xiao Buli's words, he subconsciously felt there was a problem but couldn't pinpoint where it lay.

Seeing his reaction, Xiao Buli, with a calm expression, continued, "That Teleportation Portal must be located somewhere within the game. If we destroy that entrance, we can close the Teleportation Portal. Moreover, by doing so, we have the added benefit of preserving our side's Teleportation Portal intact. I believe you understand how valuable such a thing is, right?"

After hearing this, Dugu Han's eyes lit up immediately. With the situation having escalated so much, he was almost certainly on a path to ruin. Even if the boss were to spare him, others would kick him while he was down. The best outcome would be losing all his positions and becoming an ordinary member, which would mean he would never have the chance to vie for power again.

But if he could secure a well-preserved Teleportation Portal, it would be sufficient to atone for his mistakes and might even help him rise further within the organization, securing a higher position.

With this thought, he almost wanted to kiss Xiao Buli several times, as his earlier suspicions had been thrown to the winds. Explore more at My Virtual Library Empire

"Your idea is brilliant, let's go with your plan!" Dugu Han said excitedly.

However, Xiao Buli seemed somewhat troubled, "But the success rate of this plan isn't very high. We have no idea where the entrance to the Teleportation Portal in the game world is, and we don't have a strong assault team either."

"That won't be a problem. I have a few trustworthy subordinates who can handle this task," Dugu Han said after a moment of thought.

"As for the location of the Teleportation Portal in the game, where are the intelligence team people? Get Leader Wu over here!" Dugu Han said as he pulled Xiao Buli into his office, "Let's go inside and discuss this in detail."

A security guard turned and left, and soon, Wu Min'er hurried in from outside. Upon seeing Xiao Buli, she winked at him, giving Xiao Buli a burst of reassurance. It seemed that they had succeeded already, though what they had obtained was yet to be seen.

Wu Min'er nodded to Dugu Han, "Is there something you need from me, boss?"

"Yes, there is. Do you remember the scouting mission I assigned you a few days ago around Thousand Pines Town? Did you discover anything unusual?"

A look of reminiscence flashed across Wu Min'er's face, "There is something unusual. After the Demon Clan captured Thousand Pines Town, they started building something strange on the outskirts, resembling some sort of altar. However, I haven't figured out what it's for yet, so I haven't reported back to you."

Upon hearing this, Dugu Han slapped his thigh, "That's it! This altar-like structure must be the entrance to the Teleportation Portal. Okay, you can go now. I'll call you if there's anything else."

Wu Min'er nodded and turned to leave, but suddenly, a tumultuous noise erupted from outside, followed by a chaotic burst of gunfire, human shouts, and screams, all blending into a cacophony.

Everyone in the room was startled. Dugu Han waved his hand, leading a group of security guards to rush out. Xiao Buli and Wu Min'er followed immediately. As soon as they stepped outside, they were shocked to see more than a dozen Demon Soldiers clad in black armor killing their way in from outside.

The security guards all surrounded them, firing their pistols in rapid succession, a symphony of gunshots raining down. Although the Demon Soldiers were covered in black armor, it seemed unable to stop the bullets; they were hit repeatedly, yet due to insufficient firepower from the pistols and the tough hides of their enemies, some took five or six shots and still continued their charge.

The leading few Demon Soldiers were shot dead, but the rest broke through, causing misfortune for a few employees who couldn't escape in time—one was stabbed in the belly, intestines spilling out, another was beheaded, blood spraying everywhere, provoking screams of horror.

A Demon Soldier charged at Wu Tao, its blade raised to strike down, when suddenly Wu Tao brought his hands together—Adugen! A burst of white light fiercely shot out, blasting the Demon Soldier back, overturning two of its comrades in a tangled heap.

Haoyougen! With another fierce uppercut imbued with white light, he sent a Demon Soldier's jaw askew, then with a kick, toppled it to the ground. Two security guards took the chance to finish off the Demon Soldier with several shots.

Following that, a few other people revealed their in-game abilities. Assisted by these individuals, the security guards finally managed to kill all the invading Demon Soldiers, but still, two more people died.

By the time the fight was over, the hall was a complete mess strewn with blood, limbs, and severed body parts—belonging to both Demon Soldiers and humans.

Those who had little mental preparation were terror-stricken by the scene before them, and even those who were prepared were barely any better, their faces pale as they tried to appear calm.

Only a few individuals managed to keep their composure, and Xiao Buli was among them. He patted Dugu Han on the shoulder, nodding at the stunned players.

Dugu Han immediately understood, his voice trembling as he said, "You've all seen what's happening. If we don't start working together, more Demon Soldiers will break in soon, and no one will survive. I know you all have suspicions about the company, but let's wait until after we get through this crisis to talk about it. I promise I'll tell you the truth."

Dugu Han rarely spoke sincerely, but everyone agreed with nods after hearing him, reluctant as they were. Under the external pressure, they had no other choice.

Seeing the agreement, Dugu Han couldn't help feeling pleased. "Now, I'm announcing that the entire Pioneer Corps is on standby for login. I'll send people to clear the monsters at Thousand Pines Town. Everyone else, assist the security in guarding the entrance. Make sure the Pioneer Corps has enough space to destroy the Teleportation Portal.

This operation is code-named 'Demon Slaying Operation.' Begin your actions now!"

After finishing, Dugu Han returned to his office, not forgetting to call Xiao Buli with him. By now, he had started to value Xiao Buli quite a bit.

Xiao Buli followed Dugu Han into his office, which had another door. Dugu Han took out a key card to open it, revealing an independent room inside. He instructed a few bodyguards to guard this door, then called out to Xiao Buli, and they both walked in.

As Xiao Buli entered, his heart was filled with excitement; he was finally about to meet the legendary Qilin Group.

PS: Apologies for the shorter content in this chapter; it's mainly due to the power outages I've been having these past two days. The rural power grid is truly frustrating. I can't type during the day, so I can only do so at night. Hopefully, I'll have time to write more tomorrow. (To be continued.
